- These LX Foxbody Taillights I installed on my 1988 Foxbody Mustang GT were and absolute MUST! Getting rid of the "Cheese Grater" style taillights might rub some people the wrong way but I truly think it completes the look of the rear end and I'm very happy with the outcome! Head lights are next!

I love the cheese graters man Especially when they are paint matched with the actual car itself, but if you’re going for a modern look the new headlights are so much better! Plus for some reason those look very good with the black paint.

man i can’t lie, i really did dig the graters 😂 but definitely go with a 3 piece headlight (smoked would look good, but regular stock would too), none of that one piece garbage
Same something nostalgic and iconic about the graters but everyone has their own taste
The problem with the graters and one of the main reason most people change theirs is really not for looks, most fucking idiots are texting and driving these days and not paying attention.
When these cars came out cellphones and infotainment screens didn't really exist, only rich people had cellphones so everyone was paying attention and driving,during the day graters can be difficult to see specially on bright summer days hence the big LX taillights and massive amounts of light, i have a 89 LX and a 91 GT and on my 91 everytime i would start to turn somewhere i would almost get hit ,once i went to LX tailights that was cut almost in half, i do like the graters best but i like my car more,lol.
Awwwww sad, the cheese graters are unique, and have personality. But it’s your car, and you need to do what makes YOU happy!
The did the opposite, went from that to Cheesegaters. Will never go back 😁
for the head lights I would just get the smoked OEM style lights.

Cheese graders is what made it an 88 iconic gt. Me as a kid i knew when i saw those cheese graders from far i knew it was a special car. Please keep it stock, or just make the full damage and make it look like an LX

Nice choice on the lowering spring for the fox. I put H&R on my fox and 04 cobra. Was going back and fourth about whether I should have went wit coil overs. The only reason I was considering coil overs is to get the ride height where I wanted but I went no isolators on the fox and it sits perfect! I took the bottom isolators out of the front on the cobra and it sits right as well. The ride on both is cool too. Plan to go Koni on the shocks on the fox to improve the ride a little more

I personally like the old style. But I am an old guy that used to own that body style when they were new. But the LX lights will grow on me for sure. Not bad.

definitely get the SVE smoked 3 piece headlights from LMR! They would look amazing on the black, and dont forget the fog lights lol. Also, a cowl hood would really make the front end pop!

Those "cheese graters" as you call them, are awesome. They were the first thing I noticed as I shopped Mustangs in 1988. Mine are staying, although the headlights are definitely going to be improved.

I had an 89 GT convertible. Liked the cheese graters, but they were a bit of a pain to clean.
But not as hard as the wheels!
I used to have a 90 gt that I painted black.. and I switched to cobra tail lights at first, but the lx ones looked the best.
Maybe just Stock Replacement headlights, to better match the LX Tails.

Those tail lights look a lot better. My dad had a 1988 cobra foxbody convertible and it had those tail lights. I miss that car so much.
They didn't make a cobra in 88.....

Need to convert to led lights. I run the ultra clears from lmr for headlights.
Murder it out man Black headlights taillights and wheels
looks good, like your tail light, e bay or Amazon get a pair pretty reasonable price, so I just ordered a set of front chrome led, head light assembly for my 2000 Stang, so on the bottom of the light starting at the grill and running to fender and up to the hood in a Led and a set of led head Lite and the amber turn signals, also led for $149. plus taxes. the head light bulbs have a fan in it and they plug right in. So Amazon has a set for your foxbody for $102 to $126 for the chrome head lights

There's an even nicer set of those tail lenses that came on the 86 SVO mustang. They are basically the same except they have stripes in them. I used them on my old 86 GT and they look way nicer!

Also last video no lie had not watched yet and told my buddy I was like 2 valve block and procharger in a hot warehouse on dyno it would make between 425 to 440
The "IN THING" these days on the GT is to keep the original tail lights in place IF THEY ARE IN GOOD SHAPE.
Some guys remove them to "keep them / save them" because they are getting so scarce now.
I have to admit yours were a bit faded and dull compared to the paint so I get why you did this and you like the other ones better.
Yes, I was going to say to change out the "EURO HEADLIGHTS"
LMR has all the choices on their site, however ONE PIECE HEADLIGHTS are "not in style or trendy right now"
I was thinking on ordering a set of smoked headlights for my 1990 GT next on my list. They do however cut down on night visibility.
