That code definitely should still work. Is this the NTSC-U version of the game? Also, I don't know how familiar you are with Dolphin, but the cheats enable box is checked? Were you playing with your friends online or locally?

When yoshi falls of the track, he makes the same sounds from the Smash Games, and this game came out after Smash Brawl
Well actually the game came out in 2006 and got released worldwide in 2008, so i think the sound actually comes from mario kart wii
