Thanks for the comment! Payday 3 of course has lots of issues with the game (that they are fixing), but as I mentioned in the video, fixing issues doesn't initially bring players back. It only helps them stay. To bring players back, you need to entice them in some way. And that's where the big content drops and trailers for said content comes into play. A trailer doesn't need to be non-stop action and full of gunfights (and in the case of Payday 3 it really shouldn't be completely full of that). But there needs to be something to engage the viewer and peak their interest. Most of the clips in these trailers just showcase environments, NPCs hanging around, and players walking around. As a company, if you're trying to bring back players you've lost, you need to excite and energize them to come back to your product. Once somebody leaves a game, it's hard to bring them back. So if a player clicks on a trailer to see what's new in the world of Payday 3 (for example, The Boys in Blue), they're going to click off long before the minute long joke ends because they're not really seeing anything interesting or exciting. I love Payday! And I really hope it turns things around. I'm just looking at this from a marketing perspective. And with any form of marketing, optimizing consumer engagement is critical. Phantom Liberty's trailers set the tone for the entire expansion/dlc/whatever. They showed a high octane spy thriller and that's what you got. What I've seen from these Payday 3 trailers is... well, nothing.

I'm comeback to play Payday 3 after three month of break also wait for more update and it has been a lot of update, changing, new stuff and new heist. I have been played for 222 Hours on Payday 3 and I loved it also I gonna say that Starbreeze is always Fixing/Update the game that's why I still playing Payday 3 till now even on break. Since the launching on September 2023 it has a lot of bug and everything that's normal game happend like Cyberpunk 2077 and after almost a year came out actually a lot of fix on the game so I don't know about you guys. This was my own experience on Payday 3 for almost a year playing it.

Just say you don't know what Payday is man. This is just you reacting to trailers trying to disguise this video as some insightful thought provoking piece on Payday. So many of your critiques are either unimportant or straight up misinformation because you lack the context of what is being shown. You think claiming text saying "In Engine Footage. Not Actual Gameplay" is not indicative of the actual experience. The only relatively staged parts are Joy saving Dallas from the Cloaker in Synthax Error, and Clover + Cops smooth walking up and around in Boys In Blue. If you ACTUALLY played the game and any of these heists, and THEN watched these trailers, you'd go "oh wait, that's pretty accurate to the experience" but you lack that context because this is just a reaction video and you are unfamiliar with anything Payday. Watch ANY of the later Payday 2 trailers and they are formatted extremely similarly if not 1 to 1 the same. Midland Ranch, Mountain Master, Black Cat, Breakfast in Tijuana, I can go on and on. Stealth, walking, context, momentum - followed by a music dropped with Loud gameplay. Change the video title to what it actually is " I REACT to 3 Payday 3 Trailers"

Let's be honest, with exception of Battlefield 1, every game of the franchise launched in the last 13 years has a rocky launch: BF3 (2011) has a very butchered console version, the servers at launch was unstable and the open beta of the game was a complete bug disaster. BF4 (2014) was literally unplayable on launch, it was one of the worst AAA FPS múltipla launches of all time. BF Hardline (2015) It was mediocre from top to bottom. BF5 (2018) a butchered and rushed reskin of BF1 with awful maps and modes (someone remember Firestorm?). And I really need to comment about BF 2048 launch state??
blud thinks watching trailers is a good way to review the game like he isn't missing at least 80% of info, thinks only "action" will make people interested of the DLC and says the trailers are just walking around with techno music overlayed, even tho it's showing what will play a part of the objectives in the heists and how to get to them (like walking to the second floor of syntax error to get the code to open up the basement, or showing the DOC van that you use to escape on the hoist in Boys in Blue)

Payday 2 released with 12 small scale heist with 4 of them being the same map with different loot. Bank Heist: Money Bank Heist: Gold Bank Heist: Deposit Boxes Bank Heist: Random. The only small scale heist PD3 launched with is Dirty Ice. Payday 2 is dirt cheap and PD3 is on gamepass, litterally doesn't cost much to do research

PAYDAY 3 has several major issues, the trailers being bad isn't one of them. I'm unsure about your history with Payday and Starbreeze and everything revolving it, but this is video really only scratches the surface on why PAYDAY 3 is a dying game. The "PAYDAY 3 is bad and here is why" topic is a low hanging fruit that many variety gaming channels have touched upon, but for the actual Payday community veterans, none of this is any valueable. We play the game, we see it's issues, some better than others, we can all see that it's a dying game, we can all see that PD2 outperforms it in playernumbers tenfold. PAYDAY 3 is a soulless, corporate, factory line produced empty shell of a videogame. It's a 50 million dollar imitation of the real deal, PAYDAY The Heist and PAYDAY 2 which were made by a group of underfunded guys with a passion for heisting movies and videogames are amazing because they were crafted with passion, care and love. PAYDAY The Heist was created by a studio known as Overkill Software, they merged with Starbreeze in 2012 to pool their assets into PAYDAY 2's 2013 release. The masterminds of PAYDAY was Overkill, most of those senior members left the company by 2015.

It has to be said, pd3 when it came out it was still pretty much just early beta. Since then the game just got better and better with each update the quality improving. Like the houston breakout/diamond district heists imo are phenomenal. Interesting new areas, story that grabs your attention, greatly laid out maps that allows freedom of movement however you want/in need of etc. Just the overall flow of the gameplay feels perfect. The level of craftsmanship since release skyrocketed. The reception of the game got better too. Still, if you truly wish to make a video and saying that pd3 devs dont care, nor do they want to improve things, then id suggest actually playing the damn thing and looking for proof, coz it sure af doesnt look like they dont care.
"Payday 3 Doesn't Want Players Back" They made the operation medic bag despite that pushed them to delay everything planned. They backed out on a skill rework that the community heavily dissagreed on.

Disagree with this video. This is video only critiquing the trailers. Have you seen any of payday 2 trailers? They are have a similar style. It looks like normal everyday life, even boring. But we know you are actually been robbed blind without knowing it. The game is not just a 1st person shooter. My favorite heists dont have any "action"

To some one with little knowledge of the franchise that opening is mot a boring joke. Thats a minute and a half of rising tension. Your voice acting complaint is pretty flimsy. I still play the game frequently, and enjoy it a lot! plenty of great improvements and new content that's slowly but surely adding to the replayability of the game. Sorry to hear you don't seem to enjoy it though. i'm sure there's plenty of other co-op FPS games you can enjoy! :)
I think a lot of studios have this idea of redemtion stories in thier heads now. Like "No Mans Sky launched in a bad state and they finished it afterwards, now everone loves them and thier game. We can just release a Beta at launch and then patch ourselfs into a full game later." It's getting rather annoying in my opinion, like people are almost shocked when a AAA game is actually a finished product at lauch instead of a platform to sell people DLC for the next 5 years.
I fully agree! And it’s super frustrating. Even EA’s CEO said when talking about Battlefield 2042 that fixing a game after launch is something Dice is really good at. It seems also like the industry doesn’t want to risk putting too much time and money into something unless they know for sure it’s going to be a hit. Then if it bombs they cut their losses. But if players stick around then they’ll keep drip feeding content so players can keep buying dlcs.

Come on guys, I watched the video and all this fanboy whining in the comments makes no sense. I've been subscribed to the channel for 2 hours and I've watched three videos (Concord, The Callisto Protocol and Battlefield 1) and the intention here is to analyze the marketing of games and how it affects the public's perception of the projects. And I agree with almost everything he said about the marketing of these DLCs, the trailers are horrible and don't make a new player want to buy the game or an old player want to come back to it, the feeling I get watching the first DLC is that I'm watching a Digital Foundry video and the other 2 trailers look like those old machinima videos that players used to post on RUclips during the 7th generation. I'm surprised there's so much backlash in the comments of this video when the reality of PayDay 3 is that the game doesn't even have 5% of the active players of its predecessor that was released 11 years ago. But I have to say that the title and thumbnail of the video is a little too much.
What are you talking about, the video does ZERO analyzing, he doesn't understand the basics of the game he's suppose to be talking about. He talks about the walking, but fails to mention that its showcasing the Stealth / casing mode of the game, a LITERAL 50 PERCENT OF THE GAME. He would know that if he had a single bit of journalistic integrity. Payday 2 was marketed the same way, look at any trailer from the past 4 years, it starts off with walking and stealth followed by a beat drop with LOUD gameplay (the other 50 percent of the game). So many of your critiques are either unimportant or straight up misinformation because you lack the context of what is being shown.
You think claiming text saying "In Engine Footage. Not Actual Gameplay" is not indicative of the actual experience.
The only relatively staged parts are Joy saving Dallas from the Cloaker in Synthax Error, and Clover + Cops smooth walking up and around in Boys In Blue.
If you ACTUALLY played the game and any of these heists, and THEN watched these trailers, you'd go "oh wait, that's pretty accurate to the experience"
but you lack that context because this is just a reaction video and you are unfamiliar with anything Payday.
Watch ANY of the later Payday 2 trailers and they are formatted extremely similarly if not 1 to 1 the same.

Let's be honest, with exception of Battlefield 1, every game of the franchise launched in the last 13 years has a rocky launch:
BF3 (2011) has a very butchered console version, the servers at launch was unstable and the open beta of the game was a complete bug disaster.
BF4 (2014) was literally unplayable on launch, it was one of the worst AAA FPS múltipla launches of all time.
BF Hardline (2015) It was mediocre from top to bottom.
BF5 (2018) a butchered and rushed reskin of BF1 with awful maps and modes (someone remember Firestorm?).
And I really need to comment about BF 2048 launch state??
blud thinks watching trailers is a good way to review the game like he isn't missing at least 80% of info, thinks only "action" will make people interested of the DLC and says the trailers are just walking around with techno music overlayed, even tho it's showing what will play a part of the objectives in the heists and how to get to them (like walking to the second floor of syntax error to get the code to open up the basement, or showing the DOC van that you use to escape on the hoist in Boys in Blue)

ok the complaint about the trailers is irrelevant.... people from payday asked for more cinematics and story and this is where they are getting if for the moment...... we all know the gameplay of payday, it was basically the same thing for over a decade with minor tweeks.... showing a drone for gameplay since it is new takes 5 second, other than that the gameplay did not change.... also showing the map even though they walk through it is still gameplay as you gonna play in it. the only thing that i find wrong with the trailers is they are a little bit too short to have an impact

PAYDAY 3 has several major issues, the trailers being bad isn't one of them. I'm unsure about your history with Payday and Starbreeze and everything revolving it, but this is video really only scratches the surface on why PAYDAY 3 is a dying game.
The "PAYDAY 3 is bad and here is why" topic is a low hanging fruit that many variety gaming channels have touched upon, but for the actual Payday community veterans, none of this is any valueable. We play the game, we see it's issues, some better than others, we can all see that it's a dying game, we can all see that PD2 outperforms it in playernumbers tenfold.
PAYDAY 3 is a soulless, corporate, factory line produced empty shell of a videogame. It's a 50 million dollar imitation of the real deal, PAYDAY The Heist and PAYDAY 2 which were made by a group of underfunded guys with a passion for heisting movies and videogames are amazing because they were crafted with passion, care and love.
PAYDAY The Heist was created by a studio known as Overkill Software, they merged with Starbreeze in 2012 to pool their assets into PAYDAY 2's 2013 release. The masterminds of PAYDAY was Overkill, most of those senior members left the company by 2015.
Anyone here who watched because you are trying to decide if its worth playing, yes you should. This is the most inaccurate review i might have ever seen. This guy is not fit to accurately review this game because he has not played the game

It has to be said, pd3 when it came out it was still pretty much just early beta. Since then the game just got better and better with each update the quality improving. Like the houston breakout/diamond district heists imo are phenomenal. Interesting new areas, story that grabs your attention, greatly laid out maps that allows freedom of movement however you want/in need of etc. Just the overall flow of the gameplay feels perfect. The level of craftsmanship since release skyrocketed. The reception of the game got better too.
Still, if you truly wish to make a video and saying that pd3 devs dont care, nor do they want to improve things, then id suggest actually playing the damn thing and looking for proof, coz it sure af doesnt look like they dont care.

Disagree with this video. This is video only critiquing the trailers. Have you seen any of payday 2 trailers? They are have a similar style. It looks like normal everyday life, even boring. But we know you are actually been robbed blind without knowing it. The game is not just a 1st person shooter. My favorite heists dont have any "action"

I agree with most of this video, however, talking about the PRODUCTION of trailers and content there is a catch with this franchise, this whole franchise is in general lines an AA franchise,in payday 2 there was also lots of content and trailers that looked MID or NON AAA. You could say is a mark of the house... Bad video. Do you even play the game? You seem really uninformed on whats been going on with payday as a whole in the last few months. You don't acknowledge the efforts the developers have made over the last year to fix and improve the overall experience behind the scenss, and instead criticize their lackluster trailers, which yeah, are a bit long-winded. But even so... it clearly shows what you'll be doing in the game. Maybe payday 3 just isn't for you? And if it isn't, why bother making this video only a niche community will really look for? Next time, do your research before delving into a topic.

I still play the game frequently, and enjoy it a lot! plenty of great improvements and new content that's slowly but surely adding to the replayability of the game. Sorry to hear you don't seem to enjoy it though. i'm sure there's plenty of other co-op FPS games you can enjoy! :)

I think a lot of studios have this idea of redemtion stories in thier heads now. Like "No Mans Sky launched in a bad state and they finished it afterwards, now everone loves them and thier game. We can just release a Beta at launch and then patch ourselfs into a full game later."
It's getting rather annoying in my opinion, like people are almost shocked when a AAA game is actually a finished product at lauch instead of a platform to sell people DLC for the next 5 years.
I fully agree! And it’s super frustrating. Even EA’s CEO said when talking about Battlefield 2042 that fixing a game after launch is something Dice is really good at. It seems also like the industry doesn’t want to risk putting too much time and money into something unless they know for sure it’s going to be a hit. Then if it bombs they cut their losses. But if players stick around then they’ll keep drip feeding content so players can keep buying dlcs.

Come on guys, I watched the video and all this fanboy whining in the comments makes no sense. I've been subscribed to the channel for 2 hours and I've watched three videos (Concord, The Callisto Protocol and Battlefield 1) and the intention here is to analyze the marketing of games and how it affects the public's perception of the projects.
And I agree with almost everything he said about the marketing of these DLCs, the trailers are horrible and don't make a new player want to buy the game or an old player want to come back to it, the feeling I get watching the first DLC is that I'm watching a Digital Foundry video and the other 2 trailers look like those old machinima videos that players used to post on RUclips during the 7th generation.
I'm surprised there's so much backlash in the comments of this video when the reality of PayDay 3 is that the game doesn't even have 5% of the active players of its predecessor that was released 11 years ago. But I have to say that the title and thumbnail of the video is a little too much.
What are you talking about, the video does ZERO analyzing, he doesn't understand the basics of the game he's suppose to be talking about. He talks about the walking, but fails to mention that its showcasing the Stealth / casing mode of the game, a LITERAL 50 PERCENT OF THE GAME. He would know that if he had a single bit of journalistic integrity. Payday 2 was marketed the same way, look at any trailer from the past 4 years, it starts off with walking and stealth followed by a beat drop with LOUD gameplay (the other 50 percent of the game). Paydays 3's problems aren't its trailers lmao
