I point out potholes to my friends when we're walking down the street. And I get anxious when I see a patch of badly paved road and wondering if I should commit the location to memory for future riding... but I'm just passing by on the bus.
Last week I found myself commentating on my own ride, with the voice of Sean Kelly. I think I may have overdone the Giro coverage... Great vid guys, comedy gold!
A very humorous look at a very serious subject. Thanks Gents. BTW, the look of disgust on Mannon's face was (again) priceless. It's a good sign of how well the entire GCN team gets on.
The "not stopping to help" and not making a fellow cyclist aware of your presence as you pass are my pet peeves. When I start lapsing into these habits it's time to take a break.
You need to take a break: 1. When you replace photos of your family with those of your bikes. 2. When you take a sick day from work to be at home with your bike to help it recover from a trip to the repair shop. 3. When investing in bike upgrades involves a trip to the local pawn shop. With other family member's valuables.
11th sign. "when you hit by a porsche cayenne with over 80km/h" like me today. And you check your notifications and ironically you see the "10 signs you need to take a break from cycling"
@@Yes_this_is_my_cat one needs a replacement front wheel (I have one so no problem just need to put it on), the other looks like it has a bent chainstay :(
I was like that 20 years ago. But now, I take it easy. I ride when I feel like it and I'm not too tired. I avoid bad weather too. Cycling should be about having fun, not torturing yourself.
once i was riding 100km, and on like 90km my garmin was showing 0% of battery... this was really stressful. It was winter and there was like 0* outside, so i didn't want to do 100km again
If you were going for a KOM, pushed yourself to the point of heaving beside the road, and then get home and see that Strava didn't record your ride, it is completely fine to look up the address of Strava HQ and start planning, especially when it's the 2nd time this has happened in less than 2 months.
@@michaelb1761 Planning to ride over there to thank them for making such a wonderful app of course. I use Wahoo app. Not tinterested in telling everyone on social media, no friends, just knowing how I did.
Yes definitely went to far when you sleep with the bike but I did it too first two days of owning it. Mark from traveling the world in 78 days also did it.
I've not tended to use cycling jargon outside of talking about cycling, but me and my girlfriend have taken to occasionally invoking the mantra of "marginal gains" for intentionally ridiculous things. Taking a slightly longer route to the supermarket? Boom! Varying our training! Marginal gains! Packing for a walk and leaving the third spare pair of gloves at home thinking you probably won't need them? Marginal gains from cutting weight! It's a gift that keeps on giving.
I just watched the GCN+ special about GPS . Thank you very much , it was great ! Dan and Simon were awesome , and the GCN matching Orbeas , slick as goose grease .
Awesome episode and the audio quality is superb! I’m certainly guilty of track standing at stop lights and obsessing over my FTP-I don’t think I can stop though.
I have spent the last several weeks hitting personal-record weekly distances. This week life has found a way to get me off the bike, and probably at the right time as my quads are in dire need of some healing. Timing on this video is exceptional lol.
After a long week at work this was the best thing to watch. Great fun to watch and have a giggle to. 🤣 great reminder to not take things to seriously and just enjoy it all.
When chafing occurs in clean, comfy chamois-buttered shorts and next becomes bruises. Then full on rashes. It's time to start thinking of taking a cycling or unicycling break :)

Of all the GCN vids, this may be in my top 5 all time favorites and Hank didn't even get hurt. Boonen - I don't think that would be wrong. people name their pets anything. Better than calling your kid whatever the celebs name them. Great work.
First time to hear Conor raise his voice. I guess you don’t want to see these boys angry. Different versions of Hank included. I guess these boys really bonded when they were last together from the Giro Queen stage recreation video
Last summer I never stopped at our mailbox when I was approaching home, not even on my commutes. Because it would lower my average speed. So I had to go by foot to the mailbox later...
Me as amateur cyclist had mechanical problem with my bike and I was struggling to fix it and I saw professional cyclist, looked at him as he drove past me without stopping. I was shocked, angry but above all sad....like yeah we amateurs don't matter...

It's even worse when you stop for a few minutes, put your wahoo computer on manual-pause, not let it auto-pause because that will cost precious seconds. And then when you start up again you forgot that it was in manual pause, and never recorded the rest of the ride. Heartbroken. "If it's not on Strava it didn't happen"-type of mood.

What about if you have slight pain over the top of the knees? Should I stop cycling altogether or just slow down? I appreciate the comedy in the video, but it would be nice to actually have some serious advice on the warning signs to look for that indicates an impending overload injury.

If i take a break from cycling i will fall into depression. Too risky.
It is ok to have your new bike next to your bed, for the first few days at least! Isn’t it?
Come on guys, Connor doesn't need an altitude tent, he's already breathing in higher altitude 😂
Big Ouuufff :D That burns.....
Yea, probably needs an upgrade to a spacesuit
Haha!
He needs the tent to simulate high altitude while sleeping, not while standing or riding. It's sleep high, train low, right?
