Thank you so much for your contribution to the world of jazz and humanity. It is a wonderful experience to follow your journey in every solo and in your career. I know that life as a musician can be very difficult but I would like to say that so many are touched by your integrity and love. It is an invaluable light and beacon of truth that brings us all together each time you play. I hope someday to hear you in person … that would be such a pleasure. I was a musician of sorts in my life and a sax player as well …. If I could I would love to be able to play in your style and you are my inspiration and model that strive for. Of course I will never attain it but that is not the point as you know. We appreciate you Mr. Ionata

Of course John Coltrane died in 1967, perhaps a bit before your time. But, I don't hesitate to say when YOUTube selected Max's playing of "But Not For Me", I happily listened --without knowing who it was . Clearly, my friend, go back to Trane --the days of 1956 and 1957--and see if you don't ALSO catch the resemblance between these two. (I say, without hesitation, that MOST jazz musicians were deeply impressed by Coltrane.)

Hi Max, I only recently discovered your music, and all I can say is: what a shame I didn't hear about you before! I absolutely love your play and your sound is incredible. What an inspiring musician!
I was just wondering: what are the names of the tunes you are playing on this video? I know a few, but not all. Thanks from France!
