  • Today Mike is in the bay to test the just unveiled Bettinardi CB24 Irons. After years of research, the putter giants have released their first iron sets. These new clubs feature much of the detail and craftsmanship their putters are known for, but will they perform in this new arena?

    They kind of remind me of the PXG mindset - it's rare that you can get the premium build/materials/quality/design without going to a player's club. And while obv PXG makes many models across the span from game improvement to blades - but unlike many brands, you don't have to sacrifice the "flagship" model/quality of iron if you need something with more forgiveness built in.

  • @ElvisPriscillaPresley
    @ElvisPriscillaPresley 4 месяца назад

    As a family involved with steel manufacturing, an iron would cost no more than $40-$80, shaft and grip fluctuating that price. From there, it's about the name and how many pros they have on the books. Hence, companies like Takomo will grow because of the realistic price. Are these CB24 irons nice, yes, most irons are, but not for the price.

  • @MichaelM-to4sg
    @MichaelM-to4sg 5 месяцев назад

    Not liking the gapping from 7 to 4. Just 24 yds carry for 4 clubs is not good. I’m guessing it’s mostly Mikey’s clubhead speed and aoa but would definitely suggest trying the 5 & 6 if someone is getting a fitting.
    I would put these against the Miura KM700, Mizuno 243 and maybe Titleist T150, though the latter is definitely very stronger lofted.
    It’s interesting how more club manufacturers are doing multi-material designs where base is a quality forging. Used to be the multi material designs were all around cheap cast forms, then use engineered material designs to manipulate both performance and feel. Starting with a much improved base design is welcome development in industry

    • @paul_hd1875
      @paul_hd1875 4 месяца назад

      For me, they would not be $1,600. PX 6.5, the most played shaft ever, is not even an option… so that’s a fail. Next closest shaft are the LZ’s which increase the cost to $1,850. Then there’s the grip… only midsize option are MCC’s which increase the cost yet again to $85. So now you’re at $1,950 before tax. At well over $2K these irons are grossly overpriced, ESPECIALLY considering there’s no 3 iron. In regards to your quality claim… I guarantee-fuckin-tee you they don’t feel any better than a MP221 or JPX Tour 923, P7MC or MB… which are half the cost. 1025E carbon is 1025E… regardless of the OEM stamp.
