    I had my 12 yr-old daughter make this for her mom for Valentine's Day today. She did ALL the work herself and it came out great. I tried to tag you on Instagram but couldn't find a profile for you. Thanks so much for the idea. I also picked up some butter knives with the idea of making a dragon fly.

    I have NO experience with a welding machine (is that what you call it? LOL), but as an old time jeweler, I'm impressed! Not that a torch would solder or weld those spoons ANYway, but even if it did, a torch is slower than Christmas and makes a mess of metal that has to be cleaned up! I want to weld now!!! LOL

    My 11 yr old grandson tried his hand at the dog, it was his first try at welding. I would love to show you a picture but I can't put one on here I guess. I went for something much easier, the scorpion! The next day my grandson designed and welded his version of a peacock for his mother's garden and tomorrow says he will do your archer but with a sword and shield instead of bow and arrow.

    do you have a segment that teaches which types of silverware work? like actual silver ware or metal only? and that teaches welder setting stuff for people that have no clue like me? lol

    • @BarbieTheWelder

      Stainless steel silverware only not silver plated, that just melts. On the back of the silverware it will say.

    What Volt/Wire speed setting are you using for these tacks?

    • @BarbieTheWelder
      @BarbieTheWelder  8 месяцев назад

      My settings won’t work for you. Wire size, travel speed, distance from workpiece all come into play. Use the chart inside your welder to get your starting parameters using what wire thickness, material type and thickness and gas you’re using and adjust as necessary for your welding style!

    I purchased an Easywelder to do silverware art. I watch your videos and you just touch weld. I weld the parts together but there is allot of slag and splatter. When I try your way the welds don't hold. Do you use a different type of welder?

    Hi Barbie, do you use stainless steel wire when welding cutlery or is it ok to use regular steel wire or even flux core?

  • @DowneastThunderCreations
    @DowneastThunderCreations 6 лет назад +2

    Great job, Barbie. Want to increase your market? Perhaps you might consider "targeting" your customer base. For example: To sell more product to folks here in Maine (and also wholesale to Maine craft shops), you might consider making moose, black bear, and lobster sculptures with silverware. Targeting Florida customers, maybe alligator sculptures, etc. - you get the idea.

    • @user-cx9rk4gb5x

      70s6 with c25 gas? Do you experience any rust on the stainless? Running 308l wire with tri mix would be ideal but the gas is so expensive for stainless!!!

  • @grumpycricket
    @grumpycricket 2 года назад +1

    Why clearcoat it? It's stainless steel flatware, right?

    • @BarbieTheWelder
      @BarbieTheWelder  2 года назад

      Yes but I’ve used steel wire to weld it so the weld will rust without clear coat.

    • @grumpycricket
      @grumpycricket 2 года назад +1

      Er-70 would definitely rust. I use 308 filler rod on stainless flatware. Whenever possible, I like to match the filler rod to the base metal.

    • @BarbieTheWelder
      @BarbieTheWelder  2 года назад +1

      Yes that’s ideal but when I made this video I couldn’t afford the stainless

    • @bobprice9244
      @bobprice9244 2 года назад

      I'm a fan of Tig welding. I cut my pieces 1/32 long and that's my filler wire built right in. But being a welder by trade, I know welding tricks and bought my equipment at a production rated level.
