What's crazy to me too is how good the singer of these songs is at impersonating different styles of vocals. So he's got the Axl Rose/M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) "cat meow" as you put it in this song. He has some songs where he sounds like a copy of James Hetfield with his signature "YEAH-EE-YEAH-UH" style, and also the way he uses his vocal growl in some songs like Ramlethal's theme. The second time he gets to the end of the chorus where he uses heavy vocal fry on the "JUST BURNS UP TIIIIIME!" sounds so Metallica. He's got some stuff where he channels his inner "big band" voice like Frank Sinatra ALA the ending of Zato's theme. He's also got his Louis Armstrong moments like in "Kiss of Death". The way he sings "We can handle it" in the beginning with that trailing off rumbly vibrato sounds so similar to the way Louis sings the ends of phrases in "What A Wonderful World." Also parts of the chorus in the same Goldlewis theme where he uses that like full vocal big chest sound. He's very good at being whatever style he feels suits the song, and that's so cool to me. He can be whatever he needs to be for the song, and it just means he can express himself in more ways.
God I love Faust's theme, I just want to give the poor guy a hug. Seeing him suffering in his Strive incarnation is so sad to see. Especially after watching Xrd's story mode.
That tritone thing about the devil is a pop culture myth, actually. There's lots of fucking DOPE old catholic music with tritones. Adam Neely has a video up on it. The Catholics really knew how to create some wild shit back then.
Faust's song is so good. The chorus has so much meaning behind it "no one can see the colours but you" is so true, it's just impossible for everyone to see the same colours as other people
The chorus is also directly sampled from the song "From Out of Nowhere" by Faith No More. Despite the heavily sampling, I still think this is a fantastic song that sets itself apart from both of its influences with it's crazy blending of sounds.
Bard from Eberron sporting an acrylic electric guitar plays the devil’s chord to cast summon fiend is now something I *really* want to do in Dungeons and Dragons
could you do a review of raven's theme in xrd after you finish all the strive songs? feels like that song was a prototype for the style strive songs follow.
As much as I love Alone Infection I definitely miss the more “funky and wacky” vibe his old themes had, but considering the redesign probably a good idea to change it up
Oooh! I have been WAITING for this one! I heard this song play in the background during one of the betas... and it was the first time i *really* took notice of the music in this series. I love this song so much- and it's such a good leitmotiff for faust.
It took me a while to realize, but the chorus is outright part of the chorus from Faith No More's "Out of No Where" which is amazing, 'cause it always gets left in the dust next to Epic
Oh jeez, when you first started playing that acrylic I immediately thought of Iron Man because even if I can't play guitar, my brain just defaults to making every guitar chord or chord progression just attached to one song in particular, and I shouldn't have to say the name of the band because if you know you know.
Nice vid, the tritone stuff hast been debunked tho, recently again by Adam Neely, no one seemed to actually believed it to be evil, just hard to sing, but there are actually tritones in christian music from that time
I've heard people really compare this to mr bungle which I think I can agree with after listening through california. all the tonal dissonance especially

Naoki Hashimoto is insane, he's half the reason why GG's vocal tracks are so good.

H A P P I N E S S
hope he gets better and takes the vacation that he needs, lord knows that he's been a definitive goat for so long.
Finally, faust song is a straight banger. Reflects well on his personality
they've always been bangers tho...
wait you mean finally as in the video, i'm stupid nvm
That acrylic guitar looks like something Doomguy would have on his mancave wall.
Fuck, you right.
God, what I'd give to hear a full guitar cover of this track by you

That ending gave me goosebumps. Great work on the song. This is definitely my favorite song from Strive.
Faust's song is so good. The chorus has so much meaning behind it "no one can see the colours but you" is so true, it's just impossible for everyone to see the same colours as other people
the acoustic slow part is actually "No Surprises" by Radiohead, like straight up they just sampled it
The chorus is also directly sampled from the song "From Out of Nowhere" by Faith No More. Despite the heavily sampling, I still think this is a fantastic song that sets itself apart from both of its influences with it's crazy blending of sounds.
@@samgomez8195 Don't forget Telephone Line by ELO
@@samgomez8195 thank you so much. I was wracking my brain trying to think of what the chorus reminded me of.

Better be a College of Lore bard.
@@HurtboxTV the ultimate lore expert in his favorite series of plays: Salvation Servos
Faust's theme along with Zato and Potemkin are my current favorite themes in the game

Been waiting for this one

The happy chorus speaks so well to Faust's insanity in a very tragic way. Definitely yelling this chorus in the car every time it comes on.
finally, i've been waiting for this one for the longest, nice break down on the song!
Funny how the chorus is "happy shit" when it's Faust questioning what a dead person sees from the beyond.
It took me a while to realize, but the chorus is outright part of the chorus from Faith No More's "Out of No Where" which is amazing, 'cause it always gets left in the dust next to Epic
Alone infection is a roller coaster of emotion. Similar to the character himself.
the acrylic guitar looks like a jolly rancher the fuck am i looking at. that's dope.
That guitar could be I-No's secondary weapon, the Guitar Axe!
These song breakdowns make me appreciate how awesome Guilty Gear is
That orchestral string and last chorus gets me every fucking time
i only opened the tab to look at the actual video about 7 minutes in and sweet baby jesus look at that guitar

That acrylic guitar looks and sounds so coolll! 😎 Don't mind summoning anything from it 😂
finally we will know the sad doctor
The instrumental for the slow part sounds nearly identical to the instrumental for No Surprises by Radiohead
When’s the axe collection video?
I'm saving it for my $40 a month milestone on my patreon. Once we hit it I'll be showing off my gear and explaining each axe.
This song gives me some strong Mr.bungle vibes!
Parts of this song remind me of System of a Down and I love it.
The chorus sounds kind of like ELO's Telephone Line
My favourite strive theme
Faust theme made me feel heavy emotions
This track feels like Daisuke listened a bit too much Devin Townsend in a good way.
What are the tabs for the song? Does anyone know?
Are there tabs for the other songs? If so where do you find them?
No one can see the colors but yooooouuuUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Getting a Faith No More vibe
The chorus is sampled from the song "From Out of Nowhere" by them.
If it's weird then it's fitting for Faust.
What I hear in the song: Mr Bungle, Mott the Hoople, and Radiohead. (on top of the metal)
I did listen to periphery once...

Am I the only who can't choose between X and XX "The Original"?
I like the new one but The Original is still
I miss my goofy "VIVA WATASHI" Faust :'(
It's always funny doctor, never happy doctor
cant wait for the trigger review
I've heard people really compare this to mr bungle which I think I can agree with after listening through california. all the tonal dissonance especially
The chorus is literally sampled from a song by Mike Patton's other band Faith No More; "From Out of Nowhere"
