You’re skinny but she can’t lose weight, you went to college but she didn’t, you have a clean house but she can’t clean her’s because she has to go buy booze.
She does need help and it's there for her if she's willing to pull her own weight in that relationship and do the very hard work of healing. That's the part that people seem to forget when they see folks like her--the help is there, they won't do the work because it's too hard.

Alcoholism is a terrible affliction. My mother died of liver failure and had some situations like this. Not something I’d wish on my worst enemy to go through - either themselves or a family member
As an alcoholic I can confirm, it’s fucking horrible. Trying to quit is excruciating, it feels like you’re on the verge of a seizure every second, even if you try to slowly step down, wasting money on alcohol means you can’t buy food, but if you can’t buy alcohol you can’t go to work because the shakes are so fucking bad. The amount of times I’ve thought about shooting myself in the head to end the cycle is staggering
My mom was an alcoholic also and passed away due to sepsis because she had a hole in her colon from drinking so much. It was devastating when she passed because it was so sudden. She didn't know about the hole.

I had to carry alcohol in my system and drink around the clock in order to not go into brutal withdrawal and have seizures. It was hell and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, either. I never believed I could be sober but I just celebrated 13 years. Please hang on. ♡

I have a friend who has a drinking problem and has been in all sorts of trouble. He has lost his job, home, truck and was living in a field until Hurricane Helene hit. He’s now with me in a Red Cross shelter and is still being belligerent.

When put into perspective, it's a massive country the size of Europe with over 350 million people, so actually coming across/seeing crazy stuff like in these videos isn't as common as it might seem. There are definitely places where certain types of things are more likely to occur, but fortunately, it's relatively limited overall. Believe me, most Americans viewing these videos find it just as shocking. LOL.

They absolutely can. Some people are more easily addicted than others. Some it only takes that first drink. My husband was an only son. His only sibling was an older sister. His parents were very loving and supportive of all he wanted to do. There was never alcohol in their home. He was drafted in 1968. Barely 18. He had that first drink and that was it. He was a highly functioning alcoholic. The military didn't care as long as he went to work every day and didn't get in trouble. He stayed in 20 years. No I didn't realize he had a problem while dating. I love him to this day. He passed away at 63. He stopoed drinking after we had been

They absolutely can. Some people are more easily addicted than others. Some it only takes that first drink. My husband was an only son. His only sibling was an older sister. His parents were very loving and supportive of all he wanted to do. There was never alcohol in their home. He was drafted in 1968. Barely 18. He had that first drink and that was it. He was a highly functioning alcoholic. The military didn't care as long as he went to work every day and didn't get in trouble. He stayed in 20 years. No I didn't realize he had a problem while dating. I love him to this day. He passed away at 63. He stopoed drinking after we had been
I have disagree. My aunt was raised in a very loving and caring family but she fought her demons with alcoholism and unfortunately all the love and care in the world wasn’t going to stop her from being an alcoholic and how she behaved under the influence
