    The reason Vinyl records are selling more than CD's is because of the decline in CD sales, not because more people are buying Vinyl. That is still a very niche market. People with a large fan group can profit from Vynil, but I don't think that'll work for a small artist.

    • @asmundhamre2777
      @asmundhamre2777 5 лет назад +1

      I think it's both, I think CD sales are declining at the same time as vinyl sales are increasing. But I agree with you that if you're a small artist, it can be difficult to sell vinyls

      There's been a HUGE resurgence in vinyl sales over the past few years. You can read more about that at pitchfork.com/features/article/is-vinyls-comeback-here-to-stay/

      This article supports my opinion actually. Is says that there were only 8 million vinyl records sold in the last year, and most of the sales were famous rock albums. A very nieche thing.
      And consider this - if I want to buy a record and it costs me 24$, would I buy something from an artist who I know little about, or a super famous album that I've listened to for years?
      Vinyl is just too expensive for people to be able to buy both. And that means that a small artist won't profit of it.

      That's a good point Itamar! Vinyl is a niche item, BUT it's a very profitable one and the market is growing (especially here in the United States).
      The point of the video is not that you should ONLY sell vinyl. It's one more thing that you should offer your fans. You're not going to sell millions of vinyl records, because not everybody wants vinyl records.
      And you aren't going to sell a vinyl album to someone that's not already a fan of yours. Watch this for a more detailed explanation ruclips.net/video/2O-mIplhTT0/видео.html
      Another thing to keep in mind is that it would take roughly 4,000 streams on Spotify to earn the same amount the you would make selling just 1 vinyl album. Here's another video that addresses that in more detail ruclips.net/video/RWAA1_GE7PQ/видео.html
      It's not a matter of choosing to sell digital or physical. It's about giving your diehard fans more reasons to spend money with you.

      @itamarafek 4 года назад

      Well, yeah, of course. If you manage to sell vinyl you made money (there's a debate wether vinyl is toxic for yoy or not but that's for another time).
      My point is don't start paying and producing tone of these expecting they'll pay your rent. In my opinion vinyl is just another type of merch. And a fan who buys vinyl could very well buy an awesome piece of merch instead.

    Do you buy comment bots or something? Because i find it awfully strange how the title had little to do with the content of the video. Every website has a minimum order with the exception of one that charges $25. Hardly a dime and everyone is like "thanks for the info!"
    If i wanted vinyl pressing services a quick google search would have done the job faster.

      Qrates allows you to crowdfund your pressing so you don't have to spend a penny out of pocket to get your albums pressed qrates.com Your fans pay for the entire run and you simply collect a check. Good luck!

    What about storing and shipping the stock?????.... Will they ship the each record to each different person in different country or i have to store the stock at my place and then ship to them on my own????.....

    • @matthewv789

      Qrates handles storage and direct-to-consumer fulfillment. Diggers Factory and Vinylised do as well, and some others. BandCamp has crowdfunding, but doesn’t do direct-to-consumer fulfillment.

      @@JamMob I’m actually working with a very different market. I was a children’s musician back when everyone bought cds (15 to 20 years ago). I did well selling cds, but took a break from performing/promoting for many years. Now it’s a totally different ball game with streaming being the main way people listen to music. I just don’t feel like this is a good fit for my latest album. It’s not typical kids music in that the genre is actually jazz/swing with a vintage vibe. Anyway, I want my album heard in its entirety over a good sound system. It’s very disheartening to think of it being played on Spotify through a cell phone or iPad and being broken up by typical kids music which I find to be very annoying. Perhaps I’m romanticizing vinyl, but at this point I’d just like to know that after all the work I (along with many talented musicians) put into this album, it would be listened to properly.

    They should try crowdfunding to pay an engineer first. Lmfao. Better yet, let all of there legions of "fans" pay for everything since they are the next big thing.

    Such clickbait "without spending a dime!" How about just be honest because there are better DIY videos where you can do it for free!
