Trying to get Tone Studio to work is one of the most frustrating things I've ever encountered during my 45 years on this planet. I sometimes think 'I'm going to dedicate three hours to this today'. Three hours comes and goes and then I don't try again for a few months. Then I try again. I just don't understand the thought process of the people that design this stuff. It was the same thing when I had the Katana 100 watt mki. Sold that. Now I have the 50 watt mkii I'm enduring the same thing. Why don't you just hire me to be part of the company and I can test this shit for you. If I can't install it then redesign it. Plus why don't you make a rack version of the Katana? Not everyone wants a massive amp just to get access to the tone studio software. The best advertising for products such as the Two Notes Torpedo C.A.B. M+ Amp Simulator Pedal is the bad design of the Katana software. I'm on the verge of buying the Two Notes pedal just so I don't ever have to deal with this amateur bollocks again.

Jw i have a Katana MK2 100, i have 2 mac’s, an older one with most my files & a 2 yr old one. Can I download the Tone studio on both mac’s (one is macOS High Sierra...the other is more modern, but i use it less).
Can I have the Tone Studio on both my Mac’s or am I limited to 1 software download? Also do you know if it’s compatible with Mac OS High Sierra? Also i’ve owned my Katana MK2 100 for 5ish months & was too busy to get into the Tone Studio, i still have the owners manual..im assuming I’m still able to download the tone studio..hopefully on both mac’s, or am i limited to 1 computer?? Both questions would be greatly appreciated, I’m not very computer savy.
Also im guessing i need a usb cable running from the amp into my computer while doing this (not the USB memory sticks right lol)

Hi looks like the brand new Katana 100 MK 11 amp I just bought is not supported by the new Apple M1 chip. I can't connect to the Boss tone studio. From what I can tell it has limited support what does that mean? This is really frustrating.

I have Mac OS Big Sur 11.2.1 running on my computer. There doesn't seem to be a driver to match my version of the operating system. Will Boss update the driver section or can I use one of the drivers listed on the Boss site?
I also updated to Big Sur 11.2 and I’m also wondering the same question? Please let me know if you find out anything 🙏🏼
I have big sur 11.2.3 and i also try to install system update 11 and says its unrecognisable.
But on boss compatabilty list it says yes for big sur..so what one do i need or is it not ready yet?

Old OS, your out of luck. Some guys use the Android app KATANA LIBRARIAN from the Play Store on their phone. Use that. There’s a free version and a Pro. I have it working on High Sierra and Maverick. I uninstalled the first driver, re-installed it a MADE SURE that I went into SECURITY & PRIVACY and General in System Pref where you WILL see, SOME SYSTEMS SOFTWARE WAS BLOCKED FROM LOADING. Hit ALLOW, click on the ROLAND item. And restart. Now it works. Tone Studio now has the driver operating. Simple thing but easily missed.
Hello, i followed the procedure. But I have this error message : KATANA connection failure . Please select MIDI/AUDIO device connection. Please turn the unit from slave mode to normal settings.

Having no luck installing the driver. I’ve tried installing it twice and it never works. I don’t get why. I never see a katana icon in system preferences which sounds like it didn’t get installed right. Very frustrating has anyone gone through this?

I think the problem is they are not updating the drivers !! I am running current mac book os 2021 version .
So much frustration in trying to install!!!! On second day, installed and reinstalled so many times. Have all the requirements. Have watched about 20 videos on how to do install, and do everything that is suggested, still nothing. My issue that I can't get around is, "Device Not Found". (Also tried numerous usb cables, not a hardware issue. HELP!

The device could not be found. This settings will automatically become effective when the device is connected the next time. I dont get it !! I am connected with USB to my amp to my mac.

What a fiasco trying to get this to work. I have Katana 50 Mk II and a mac. I downloaded and reinstalled drivers and BTS, no change. I am continually prompted to install the driver. As someone else commented, I never see the KATANA icon in system preferences. I'm set to allow the install from App Store and Identified developers. I then uninstalled all BOSS software and upgraded from Big Sur to Monterey, reinstalled the driver, then reinstalled BTS, no improvement. I went through the firmware upgrade steps, and all four lights come on when checking the firmware version, so maybe that's a problem. ugg this sucks, its like being transported back in time when every little thing needs some other dependency. If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears.
Update, I tried again on my newer Mac running Ventura, and it installed and worked right away. No such luck still on the Intel powerbook from 2015 running Monterey 12.6.5
I've followed this step-by-step (twice) and my Mac (OS 14.3) still doesn't recognize it.

I dug up my parents old laptop and is just so happened to run mac os 10.13 so i just made the margin😅

Really impossible. Positive Grid softwares just smack boss down. A simple app that could be downloaded anywhere in 10secs vs a software that must be installed (is it 99?) With a lot of complications...im a huge boss fan but its a real pain in the ass that poor solution to access katana
