First off he jammed the mem card into slot it has a spring in it 2 he didn’t calibrate the drone didn’t turn airplane mode on phone didn’t read any directions. I have zero problem taking 4k video the drone flys very good getting 25 minutes of flight per battery. He didn’t charge the battery takes 3 hrs for a full charge. I fly in Montana had a small learning curve with the software can auto land any place I take off and land on a table ! Step by step instructions are fine the auto return work very well I get 14 satellites every time I fly it.

im here because I mentioned i wanted a drone and was looking into a mavic. unknowingly my wife who knows nothing about drones bought me this p.o.s for xmas. the remote feels like a cheap toy. I havent even flown it yet but it felt sub par. i know it was the thought that counts but im going to donate it and get what I wanted. she wont know the difference😂

I'm certainly not disappointed that I passed on reviewing this one. I'm so sick of these junk drones. It's always an issue with these apps. They either don't want to connect or they crash. TSRC tried to tell me how far superior the Q8 is to Holy Stone drones. Lol. At least you finally got the fpv feed to work but it shouldn't be this difficult!
It is so frustrating. I feel sorry for new fliers that buy it.
They need to shut up and put money into good R&D or steal what DJI has done ( but they can't because DJI has very good copyright protection software in the gimbals)

Hi Marcus. I know why you were having do much flight control problems. At 13:20 while you were in the menu, you set the fight distance to unlimited, but did not press the save button, so it reverted back to a maximum distance of 30M. You were flying with a 30m geofence. Maybe give the drone 1 more shot after correcting that. and after you get your sd card out! I got to say, after flying dji's, that sure is jumpy video.

Captain Drone recently reviewed this drone and everything worked perfectly. I figure he has sold 500 of them through his affiliate link so far.
PS. I find these drones perform much better with better editing skills.

Hello, good drone review, but I guess you should first get acquainted with it before giving a review. I just bought one of these and I did not have that micro SD card problem. Also, I was able to connect to the drone without turning off my wi-fi. This was the first time I ever touched a drone and I could fly it with no issues.
Evidently you are much more talented with drones than I am. I'm glad yours worked well. 👍
I have the Q5...was my first GPS drone....it flies much better than that Q8....takes nice pictures...but without the gimble....the video is not that good....but it is fun to just zip around the yard and park....and the return to home is surprisingly accurate on the Q5....I just wouldn't recommend it for taking videos.

Interference from the cell tower is gonna mess the drone up. Dont fly it near cell towers or any other power antennae. The camera does have nice color and detail and it probably flies fine away from cell towers. You cant put that on the drone company. They all say "Dont fly near anything Big thats made of metal especially chain link fences, power lines and big antennae. Usually these things will make any drone, no matter the manufacturer, fly out of control and crash or fly away. So I think your lucky. This will happen with a DJI drone and also the cheapest $20 drone. STAY AWAY FROM BIG METAL THINGS!!!!
Ha! Yes, that cell phone tower made the sd card fall into the body of the drone. I've been flying loops around that tower for years. Thank you for watching. 😀
Hey Marcus, what a complete GARBAGE Drone is all I can say! Thanks for the vid on this one and spending your time to do an HONEST Review! And just think, this week in the US, the FCC will be in charge of the Future of DJI drones along with Congress! This is so MESSD UP it’s flat out RIDICULOUS!

@@IdahoQuadcopter I fully agree with you in regard to writing our Reps. I’ve done so here in Texas already. I’ve re read the FCC info for the hearing this week and it might not be as bad as it could be, at least that’s what I’m thinking at this point. Clearly it can go in the tank, but the ruling might pertain only to new DJI drones imported after the date they pick. If that’s the case, that’s not too bad of a situation. One issue though could come if you have to send your drone in for a repair and when sent back it doesn’t work properly with the current frequency the FCC is using at the time. I have read there’s plenty of work arounds with the frequency’s though as well. Time will tell soon as it will all unfold in a few days, have a good one Marcus!!
This POS proved definitely not to be worth your valuable time and effort. Frankly, I’m quite surprised they had the audacity to request your evaluation. This sad excuse for a viable beginner drone is nothing more than a “money-grab”, aimed directly at the drone newcomer. Its performance failures are embarrassing and nothing less than a complete turnoff. Fortunately, your years of experience allowed you to leastwise get it airborne, which was quite a feat! Regardless, this video brought about a chuckle and thanks for sharing!!!

Another cheap piece of Chinese garbage. Spend the money and buy a drone with GPS and return to home features.
It is a GPS drone and yes it has RTH. 🤷♂️

When you say turn off cellular to connect, what do you mean by that? I’m having the same connection issue and can’t figure out why you did on your iPhone ☹️
The easiest way is to put your phone in Flight Mode. 👍

I couldn't hardly bear to watch that unstabilized video. Being new to the drone hobby I didn't have to go through all the growing pains with the progression of stabilized cameras. I guess I am spoiled to good stable video from my dji mini4pro drone. Thank you for "taking one for the team" and trying to find something good to say about this one. I hope you got your SD card back from the belly of the beast.

I neglected to save the settings after I changed them.
You need to disconnect from your phone wifi and you will connect without a problem. Another thing is you are flying by a cell tower and are facing a signal interference. Oh by the way, it would work if you knew what you were doing!
Ha! 😂 Yes, it does help to know what you're doing. IT'S A WIFI DRONE! If you turn off WiFi you have no FPV connection. I needed a good laugh this evening.
@@IdahoQuadcopter turn off PHONE wifi and connect to DRONE wifi and you will have a better experience. I needed a laugh too, lol

This is a great drone for my son haha, he could take it out there and just beat it up lol...doubt it's worth the money though! It's good you covered this though, you save a ton of people a ton of money!

Hey Marcus. First, I truly enjoy your videos. I've learned a lot by watching them. Second, I wish you'd give this drone another chance. I just got into drone flying and a few months ago and purchased this one to see what it was all about. For the price and the accessories you get, I don't think you can beat it. I know, it's a negative when you buy one and it has issues out of the box. I can say, I purchased it, charged everything up and hit the skies, no issues at all. I am using an Android phone with mine. I was hesitant when I saw how few extra propellers it came with but contacted TSRC at the US email address that's on the front of the manual and was sent 10 completed propeller sets. The only shortfall I've come across is the 2 axis gimbal so no video stabilization. Again, give it another shot please. I didn't want to make a big investment to try my hand a drone flying and found this bird to be a great break-in bird to get my feet wet with. I flew it for a couple months and have now moved on to a DJI Mini 4K Fly More and have watched your great videos on that one also and have learned a lot from them
I'm not sure how to give it a second chance. I am unable to insert an SD card for 4K video. 🤷♂️
You said in your video, I believe, that it was given to you to review. Ask for a replacement and give it another chance.
Hi Marcus, I really appreciate your testing of second and third tier drones. You remain so level headed. Ken Dono would have put that drone in a blender. The only drone I needed to put in the garbage was the C-Fly, two of them. A blender would have been too good for the C-Fly.

Hi Marcus the reason it didn’t move farther might be because by default it limits the distance. It can be increased in the settings.

Hello. Some drones require an app and others don't, however you need the app to get the most out of the drone.
