I use the OXO basket. As the last comment mentioned because of its wider size it fits better in a cup with less gap. It keeps the tea hotter while stepping. Also the lid in the tray when you remove the basket from your cup. No need to dirty a plate.
All do respect, you seemed slightly biased towards the Yaossi from the start but I believe you gave them both a fair shake. I chose the OXO because of the wider base and better filtering. Also that rubber bezel is because the cap on the OXO doubles as a drip tray and would prevent it from moving on counter top. For those reasons I favor the OXO, but believe you cannot go wrong with either. Many thanks for your presentation and comparison.
I appreciate your feedback here. Ironically, I have found myself using the OXO more often recently. I feels a little more heavy duty. I also like that you've pointed out the purpose of the rubber bezel. I think I had a difficult time looking passed how much I liked the perfect fitting cap on the Yoassi at first, and that might be why I seemed a little biased. Thank you again for taking the time to share here.
That doesn't really prove which is better since basket infusers are generally used with loose leaf tea not the fine broken leavings in tea bags. Brewing regular tea would make them equally effective. I don't know anyone who would use those to brew tea from teabags. To each his /her own:) Cheers, Rik Spector
