Man, is there not an advert in greater need of a comeback. The polar opposite of what’s being pushed today.
It would be more effective because it uses the keep it simple formula
Australian ads in the 80s, especially cartoon ads like these ones are the most Australian things in existence.
Also some of the best!
True, like Bonds Antz Pantz “Sic em Rex” 😎😂
Wow, I’m watching this for homework. Best. Homework. Ever. Love the ‘I just have big stomach bones!’
30+ years later, and it all holds true.
Look like you have it all sorted out to me Norm, hot missus and you're in the recliner watching telly. Mate, Jedi Status right there.
Ok Hugh
Libby with the aerobics gear before Olivia Newton John 😂
Who is watching this laying on the couch lol!
They need to bring it back
Ahhhhh.......the good old days
Too real to be on the air these days.
It's amazing how people still don't get the message in 2013!
I know right!
I'm holding out hope for 2014
It’s 2023 now !
Or in 2024… 🙄
Great to see these old clips.
Do you have the one where Norm is shown having a balanced diet ?
Imagine the PC police going ape shit about this if you showed it to people nowadays?
The 2021 message is "take these drugs" and "get boosted."
All that exercise and nutrition stuff is obsolete.
Only for the stupid.
This needs to be shown today. Now days obese people are all about body "positivity" and don't want to put in the simple efforts to lose weight.
These ads have been playing again in 2023 in Victoria. I found this video out of curiosity.
@@miragenite1 I just saw one. So glad they’re making a comeback. Never needed them more.
@KG84C
I like the "Full Metel Jacket" reference! I thought that was a great movie!
How I feel right now
Too right!
It's back. Took long enough.
Oh Norm You Not Watching The Tele Again
Courtney Barnett wear a t-shirt with that slogan
My favourite tv commercial!👍👍👍
This was uploaded on Christmas
This is now fat phobic
Life be In It today live more of your life
My dad sent me this
noice
AMONGUS
Norm cannot make the latest one to fit the woke 2022 community - the obese old fella drank and ate himself to death....the ads appear to not have helped him at all....The Irony
RIP Norm
Why on earth did they stop these campains? Seen the playstation generation of kids these days? Fat little porkers! Never even heard of Cricket!!!! We used to play after shcool but only until the street lights came on then we had to get inside! Those were the days.
We have heard of cricket
They still go outside but the just go out to stare at their phones and toys in new scenery.
Ok boomer
Cricket... the one where they mostly stand around all day?
oh
HE'S A RIGHT AUSSIE...EYY??
The Government wouldn't dare show an advert like this today for fear of upsetting food companies, even though obesity will cost
It (us) billions down the line. Wasn't the seventies liberating? We had something then.Where did we go wrong over the past decades?
Fat,dumb and happy ??!!!
Bewdy Newk
Unfortunately this would never fly today. It would be considered body shaming.
Hanker for a hunka cheese!
Even more so today. Lizzo just won the best artist Grammy for being fat. Everybody cried and cheered and called her brave. Bring back Norm.
One would not play this ad as that would be fatphobic.
I think this is a great ad campaign to prevent people getting diabetes
Hey
Three decades later a groundswell of stupids is working against health education.
Yes, I know obesity can be caused by glandular imbalance , some family members are affected.
But when I see fat oops large people walking on the street and munching crisps or chocolates or drinking dissolved sugar I just despair.
And I hear that some are so large that they need two bus or plane seats but get angry and claim discrimination if charged for more than one?
I do all of the above but im still skinny help!
@CBGB42 hmmm must be a big ribcage
Ok Mat
I hate statistics.....If your height should be in accordance to your weight - home come I'm not 13 foot tall?
Stomach bones :D
Ok Tom
Silly schoolsending me to werid videos of ads for fatpeoplein the80's 0_________o
Norm in 2021 is the NORMAL. Except for me, as I regularly fast, eat healthy, exercise, and cook my own food, including baking my own bread by hand, at home.
Live smart ... fat is NOT your friend.
eating most kinds of fat is good for you. Ironically it makes you less fat.
@@patrickspens497 Touché. Let’s say “Being” fat is not your friend.
@@patrickspens497 Yes the best fat in 2023 is 'Trans' fat.
I do all of those things and i'm still what peple would fall "fat". Sometimes you're just shit out of luck.
Norm is not very bright.
