🇬🇧 Vulcan Jet XH558 Display at Waddington Airshow 2011

Some footage I never uploaded of Vulcan bomber XH558 doing its validation display at Waddington airshow 2011 and then landing head-on, hiding in the runway dip before re-appearing over the runway brow. Stunning sight seeing that huge delta wing held nose up directly towards the camera.

I was walking in the center of my city with two of my colleagues when, suddenly, a weak bang caused discomfort in our ears and those of everyone around us. We looked around to see what had happened, but nothing unusual was seen and we concluded that it was a lorry or bus tire that had burst. A little further ahead, however, a strange, dark plane appeared in the sky, on an unusual route for air traffic. I soon recognized the model and said to my friends: “Look! A Vulcan! We’re at war!” They looked up and, perhaps because of the delta wings, said, “Nah! That’s the Concorde!” It was 3 July ,1982, around midday, and the plane was the Vulcan XM 597. The blast was the air displacement caused by the Brazilian Air Force's F-5 fighters when they surpassed the sound barrier, flying over the city of Rio de Janeiro.
