Thank you for another fantastic Bible study. This is exactly the kind of conference I love so much. I could listen to these talks 24/7 forever. It’s like being on the Road to Emmaus with the Teacher Himself.
I've never been so overwhelmed with your explanation with scripture. I facilitate a bible study, and we are studying Numbers. You have so much deep understanding. , it takes my breath away Thank you ❤
Perhaps that's why first century Jews took eucharist as fulfilment of Abrahamic covenant enabling all the partakers have covenant blood of Abraham to flow in their veins forever even after the destruction of the Temple as prophesied by Daniel
AT MIN.48 "THANKS FOR SPEAKING SO QUICKLY Sir" No listener can catch that! Do you want to communicate or not? Neil. P.S. That's just the start of what I can tell you. I hope it's clear. Thanks.
I don’t know what you’re finding fault with. Everything Dr. Bergsma said is perfectly clear. I think maybe you’re referring to when he was reading the Scripture verses from Exodus 24:11, which are easily recognizable to anyone who has read Exodus. I believe the attendees are all priests and brothers, or at least seminarians, so it goes without saying, they should all be familiar with the Torah.
Why the idea of a "sin of sloth" by Adam before the original sin? The snake, before being posessed by satan, was seen as any other creation of God was seen. Thus, what reason would Adam have had to avoid its encounter with Eve? The enemy could have been in a lion or in a fox or maybe even in an earthworm.
Did Adam step forward and protect his wife from the serpent? Did he step up and take responsibility for not protecting her? No to both. Even with your way of thinking, and he doesn’t realize the danger to the Garden, he’s still slothful in protecting and defending his wife.
@@neener13wink why would Adam want to protect "his wife" from the serpent when there was no enmity between man and any of the animals? One must understand that it was not the serpent, the created animal, that caused Eve to disobey God. It was Satan, a spiritual being that Adam had not been told to be wary of, or that it was the enemy, that posessed the serpent and caused her to do what she did.
Also, Adam was supposed to be the steward and guardian of the garden. The invader should never have gotten into the garden, if Adam had been on the job. Then he was right there with Eve, standing around watching the conversation between Eve and the serpent, saying and doing nothing.
I do not think we Catholics believe the Most Holy Eucharist is the actual flesh of Jesus Christ. I think the teaching is more like the Consecrated Species are the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, really, truly, and substantially Present, or sacramentally Present. If the Eucharist was the actual flesh of Christ, we would indeed be cannibals as so many have accused us of being. I think the emphasis of the dogma is more properly placed on Christ being "substantially" Present.
I’m Catholic, a convert from Judaism. I believe the Eucharist is the actual Flesh and Blood of Christ. Every Catholic I know believes this. It is the Risen Body of Our Lord. Have you not heard of Eucharistic miracles? Sacred Consecrated Hosts that have miraculously changed in appearance to be recognizable flesh and blood. The flesh has been scientifically examined in laboratories. It is consistently found to be myocardial heart tissue, blood type AB positive. Look it up.
@@frisco61 Yes, that is how we speak of the Sacred Species. I posted that for the sake of the non Catholics who watch and read. Perhaps I should refrain from doing so in the future.
What do you think “really, truly and substantially present” means!? If you research the Eucharistic miracles, the Eucharist is indeed the Flesh and Blood of Christ. It has been studied under microscopes by professional scientists, and is consistently found to be human heart tissue, blood type AB positive, and THE CELLS ARE ALIVE. It is the risen, eternal, living Flesh and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus. By the mercy of God, He has veiled His very Self under the appearance and taste of bread, in order that we might consume Him without distaste, and be transformed by Him into His likeness, provided we are well-disposed and in a state of grace. So yes, we Catholics do believe the Most Holy Eucharist is the actual flesh of Jesus Christ.
We Catholics do indeed believe that the Most Holy Eucharist is the actual flesh of Jesus Christ. What else does “really, truly, and substantially present” mean!? Research the Eucharistic miracles and you will see that scientists examining a “miraculous Host” in laboratories, under microscopes, consistently identify it as human heart tissue, blood type AB positive, and THE CELLS ARE ALIVE. Just as Our Lord veiled His Divinity in becoming incarnate as a human being in Mary’s womb, so He veils His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity under the appearance and taste of bread, so that we can consume His actual Flesh and Blood, risen, eternal, and holy, without distaste.
If there was one video on RUclips that I wish that I had time to listen to over and over again, it would be this one.

Thank you Dr. B, your teaching and insights really help me comprehend my lifelong faith journey as a cradle Catholic.
I love you Brother John , Dr. Nirvana God Bless you, Amen!

God bless Dr Bergsma -thank you from Sydney Australia 🙏
He’s good, smart AND funny (great informative talk) 💕
Loved this all! ❤️💙
Thank you Dr. John: a wonderful talk about the wonder of God’s Revelation 🙏
This is the most conventionally funny I’ve seen Dr. Bergsma. It was a bit strange, but I was able to roll with it.

I’m pretty sure that Dr. Bergsma knows the differentiation. We just conventionally speak of the body and blood of Jesus as it says in the Bible.

Is he slightly drunk?
I’ve observed that he can be very humorous at times. He’s very knowledgeable and comfortable with his subject. Wouldn’t you love to take his class!? 😃
No, he always sounds like this.
