when i got my braces off i had a lower and upper retainer the old type with the wire, then the dr put on mu upper teeth a permanent retainer its small springs and on the inside so you can not see it, only problem with that is food does get caught in it very often.
Janeth Cardenas They’re talking about permanent retainers.....They glue them behind your top and bottom teeth. Food can definitely get stuck sometimes.
The only issue I have with the retainers is that they are very expensive to replace - in the UK they cost £300 which for many people isn't possible to spend.

@@irene.5798 but im doing it every week or 9 days and i dont have any problem. and when i tighten them i dont feel any pain at all. people say that they will hurt for 3 days or will be umcomfotable. i dont have any of these issues😊

Okay I have a question: my orthodontist placed a fixed retainer PLUS the plastic retainers so I’ve been wearing both since I got my braces off. (2.5 years or so) and my normal dentist which also happens to be an orthodontist asked me why I have both since both at the same time aren’t necessary. And I honestly still don’t know why and they won’t do anything about it Bc they don’t want to mess up the work (my teeth) of the orthodontist I went to Bc they don’t want to be liable for anything that happens.
My dentist told me to wear my retainers (clear plastic) for a week "24/7" before only wearing them at night, but everyone else says you should wear them for a couple of mounts or so before only wearing them at night?
I was told i have to wear them till the day I die.

In India most of the ortho provide full treatment in this much money I had my braces treatment with retainers under 200 pounds lol

No no no, please don’t do that. The process of moving teeth is very gradual and should not be rush. You will cause your teeth to become loose.

OL1V14 most people were theirs for 6 months 24/7 and then just at night... But idk.. If i were you i would go with the 6 months.

It depends on the case.. If u have gone through extraction u definitely need to wear for a year
