I used to be a diesel tech at Freightliner. I did a crank shaft replacement on a DD15 on a truck that had less than 300 miles on it. It spun a rod. It never even hooked to a trailer before I had to overhaul it.
We bought one brand truck exclusively in a day cab fleet model. For years new trucks off the line spent most if the first 6 months in a shop. Finally put one of our employees at the final build out seller in the shop full time every year when we purchased. Cut down time on new trucks by over 70%. Just factories pushing too many out a day in older facilities and the "Friday" paint job or fastener, etc issues were caught before the truck hit the fleet. Just the times we are living in.
I live about 4 miles from the Volvo Mack plant. It's the largest heavy truck manufacturer plant in the world. It's nothing to see them broken down on I-81!! Plant is in Dublin VA
There is a Freightliner Plant here in Mount Holly and I have seem them literally stop in the middle of road out of Mount Holly in front of O'Reilly's having issues.

Where you ended up north of Charlotte. There's a town about 30 miles north called Cleveland, North Carolina. That's where the Freightliner plant is so I'm assuming the Western Star are being built there now since they closed down the Portland plant years back. Yeah it's pretty pretty good size production plant there in Cleveland. I was there for work a couple times. I work for a seat supplier and we were doing some rework
Hey Justin, just watched a little dog doesn’t Strangle itself on that cord I had that happened to a neighbours dog. They put it on a runner and we’re watching it.
Hey! Alright!!! Patterson farms pumpkins!!!!!! That’s my area!! The other route you could take was NC 152. That would’ve brought you closer to me. It looked like you musta exited at Old Beatty’s Ford Rd. My exit is 72 Peach Orchard Road. I’m only 2 miles from that exit.
I’m liking the chicken teriyaki too and my go to when I’m going out to eat!! And the salad made it sound so much better!!! Thanks for a great day with Justin!!!
We had to pick up a driver (Not Our's) in a Western Star. That had broken down and the driver was pissed off. Cause he told our wrecker that he just purchased it and he wanted our wrecker driver to take it back to the dealership. Wrecker driver did that and the owner was like gimme back my money and gimme back my semi that he traded. The wrecker driver followed him to the yard and got a mechanic to grab the tracking device and see if the dealership put a tracking device on it. And sure enough found it. Cause that dealership is good at scamming people. He got shutdown months ago and was arrested for trying to scam a undercover cop. Jesse and friend's are playing pool. Jesse's winning and the friend he can play left handed or right handed also. Nana's watching??? On tv in the living room. It's cold here in Milwaukee and in Denton it's not that cold. The kid's turned on the heater and they said it's warm. Jesse had one of the boys test the alarm system next to the heater and BAM it goes off. It's always best to have a smoke detector next to gas heaters. Justina and Misty was washing all the blankets on the couches. And was cleaning the areas underneath the couches. Justin and Cash and Austin lifts up the coaches and they vacuum underneath then. We are leaving Sunday Afternoon and possibly stop halfway through and get a motel and rest of rva day at a spot that we always like to stop and walk around. Lucky Nana's walker was still in the Duramax. If she get's tired she can sit on it and it folds up. And if she's tired she sits in it and either me or Jesse pushes her.
Justin, congrats on that load from your buddy 👍. Those pumpkins sure looked heavy sitting on that trailer 😮. Hope you get something tomorrow after this load. Safe travels and God bless 🙏 you.
Justin, glad to see you're getting loads! It's funny that the stock market is breaking record highs while the truck industry is hurting? I guess the sultans of greed have get their giant piece of pie before anything trickles down! Excuse the pun but it looks pretty crumby to me!
So happy to see you back in action and sharing with us I’ve definitely been missing you and the family and I’m hoping that you’re able to keep getting these loads so we are able to see you on the regular like it used to be!!! See you in the next one!!!
