I appreciate the ND story but why isnt Ohio state getting credit for losing 3 offensive line starters throughout the season, two of them all Americans and one being the Remington award winner. They've literally glued this O line together all year. As much as the UM game gets brought up no one wants to bring that up because they have great skill players.

Because Notre Dame has lost 3 OL, 4 defensive lineman, one 1st round draft pick at CB, and still keep rolling. Benjamin Morrison held Marvin Harrison Jr to 36 receiving yards last year and when he went down, we replaced him with another star, true freshman, at CB who was just rated today by PFF.

Is he talking about Carson Beck being injured? Oregon, Tennessee, Penn State, Texas, etc... were all more or less at full strength. You could argue that the 2 finalists dealt with the most injuries when you look at both OSU and ND olines. Really ignorant criticism IMO.
You talking about Day? As a lifelong OSU fan, im pissed that he didn't take the michigan game seriously enough. He's clearly a good coach but if he leaves, I want out next coach to WIN THE DAMED GAME! I dont want national championships. I want to beat TTUN.
@Yes10292 you do not speak for Buckeye nation and in fact you sound unhinged saying you don't want national championships😂 we all want to beat ttun but it's irrelevant at the end of the day
@Edward_USMC13 absolutely he doesn't speak for buckeye nation. We want to win every game and beat TUN most of all. However if we had to choose winning a championship or beating TUN we are taking the championship everytime. Day is a very young Coach. He will get on the right side of the rivalry and has already done amazing things and shown steady improvement.
SEC better get use to not winning as much. In 4 team playoff, SEC regularly got half the teams in it. I don’t ever see 6 SEC teams making a 12 team playoff.
Not only is Ryan Days job safe they are going to win the national championship he is going to be one of the best coaches ever to coach at osu Joe from Youngstown ohio
If he wins then he would be 4th greatest coach at OSU. Right now, he’s behind Cooper. 1. Woody Hayes 2. Urban Myer 3. Jim Tressell 4. John Cooper You could debate Jim over Urban but its hard to argue against an undefeated record against Michigan.
RJ, I know you’re an Oklahoma fan but c’mon man…why in the world would Knowles leave Ohio State for OU? You think Ohio State couldn’t/wouldn’t match or exceed anything OU could muster? Unless he’s unhappy (which there is zero evidence of) there is no chance Jim Knowles leaves.
OSU is not the same team after the MI loss. The O and D lines have stepped up. Day doesn't run up the score and rests the starters at the end of the game so that may pay off now. Sounds like ND does the opposite. OSU's weakness on D is running a prevent D until the red zone and then they tightening up. On O, it's Howard unable to throw deep. If OSU O and D lines play like the last 2 games though, I think they're the best team in the country.
@jacobbrice5283 you can't claim overconfidence after making a statement like that 😂. You are not better and besides the players on the field will decide the game not fans lol.
No, Ryan Day has finally lit a fire under the coordinators and players. It took losing 4 years in a row to open his eyes? No. Give us this Natty to fill the void and lets move on.
I've always liked Ryan Day. He's a great recruiter. He's a great developer of talent, he's a great coach and his players love playing for him. Unfortunately I see what him and his teams are capable of and he doesn't always reach that level.
I'm a notre dame and like the outcome, but i also was excited for army. If army had beaten my Irish they would have been in cfp how exciting that would have been for a service academy.
For the last 3 games everyone has said “Ohio is facing the toughest defense they’ve seen all year “… OSU faces the best defense in college football every week in practice..
OSU lost to Michigan on purpose. They knew they were in playoff and took the time off for practice and such. They went to Oregon and lost by one point. Great game. Beat Indiana and Penn St. Why wouldn't they be in? Big 10 championship would just be another game to get someone hurt.
and expansion to 16 makes sense...no one wants a bye, and whats the worse that can happen, there are 6-7 blowouts in the first round rather than the 4 we had? NFL sends 14 out of 32 (42%)teams to their playoff, FCS has 129 teams and they send 24 teams (18%)to their playoff, DII has 162 teams and send 28 (17%)to their playoff, DI basket ball send 64 (18%)of the 352 teams and DI football only sends 12 out of 130 (9%) teams is ridiculous!!
I like the idea of keeping the format the same but calling the first round a play in round instead of a bye. That way we can get rid of the whining and excuses of a bye week.
Ironically neither of these teams would have made it to the playoffs last year as they would not have been in the top four. The old four team playoff was horrible and everyone knew it. And yet it took them nearly 20 years to fix it. So anyone who thinks they are going to fix some of the current issues in the next couple years is delusional. I think conference championships should go away and the playoffs should expand to 16. Maybe in the next 20 years.
We do it, but we shouldn't. Rivalry games don't play by the same rules as the rest of the games in the season. What Michigan has accomplished, regardless of how the college football world feels about them and their wins being vacated for 3 years (which is fair), doing it 4 years in a row and this year to leaves unfinished buisness on the table for Ryan Day and his Buckeyes. Even if Ohio State wins it this year, Michigan can still claim Ohio State did not beat them even if Ohio State got it's revenge on Oregon. I expect Ohio State will be on a tear in this Notre Dame game and I expect Notre Dame to force Ohio State to the air but I don't think it will matter much. 37-17 Ohio State wins it.
Really, I see a lot coming from the Irish. OSU has always been a target of hatred. Good luck and congrats for making the game, should be fun to watch. God Bless
Just saw some guy Malik Ziare? WHO? Talking 💩. My first prediction was 38-13 Buckeyes. Now I'm going 52-6. Ohio State will clean up the mistakes they made in the Texas game and if ND plays man defense on our wide receivers this game will be over real fast.
