My First trip Metal Detecting with the Nokta Double Score. My opinion at the end after LOTS of coins

- So, after using the Garret ACE350 for the last couple years, and loving the simplicity and power up - detect style, I thought it was time to consider an upgrade. I had made plans to purchase the very affordable Minelab Xterra Pro, But after stopping at High Plains Prospectors in Overland Park, KS, I began to fall in love with the Nokta Double Score. On a promotion they were running, and for a little more than the XTP, I was able to purchase the Double Score with an included Bluetooth pin pointer (that i have yet to try) . Promotion Bundle may not be available when you view this video. So far, this machine has been a great upgrade with an easy learning curve.
This is hunt was on part of a youth camp lake area, so all the coins are 1980s and newer.

Yep I use a Nokta Legend. It’s been a good machine. Good luck with the new Dbl Score.
I got to hold a Legend that day, and wow, it felt like a great machine. However it was a little bit over my budget. They said the double score was like a little sibling to the Legend. So far I am pleased with the family

hey thanks for watching. They did come fast... I wasnt expecting that kind of return, but was pleased with the results. Was surprised at the simplicity of the turn on and go for a multi freq. How big of coil you going with??? Headphones are my next improvement as the tones on fields annoy my wife when she is detecting next to me... lol .. good luck out there today .
@@muddyrelics I'm currently using the SC35 coil on the doubble score and haven't used the headphones yet I was planning to test it all today but the weather changed so I'm waiting for a dry moment have everything ready to go I also have the reaper coil for my garret ace apex also still need to test it we have to much rain here in the Netherlands that kept me indoors most of the time
the double score is indeed easy until you are detecting with somebody like I had with my daughter and her simplex ultra it took some tuning to quiet down the chatter on both machines but it worked out after that both machines where very sable haven't yet tested the Garrett ace apex next to the double score the apex is also a very good easy detector
I hear ya on the weather. We have had a wet month here in the mid west USA. We wanted to get into some more stock fields before they planted, but now looks like pastures and yards for a couple months once our summer camps are over.. I am undecided on the stock coil vs the round coil, like my wife's simplex. I have not really looked into the differences. I do like the idea of the larger size some day since we do a lot of open areas. Would be interested in the comparison of the APex. I loved my Garrett ace, and looked at moving up the line, but Nokta seemed to offer more bang for the buck at the time due to the promotion.
@@muddyrelics the apex is good but is heavier that the double score and has no search light no vibration function and not waterproof at the other hand on the apex I can choose between all the frequencies 5-10-15-20 and mf ms multi frequency and multi sand frequency
the double score is only known the single frequency of 15 what the rest off frequencies are seems a company secret???? still good stable target id's
we have thick clay soil over here in the Netherlands still goes deep and everything the apex also now with the big coils even deeper and sensitive I know that I have to scale down the sensitivity in most cases ideal for open big fields and and still picking up tiny target's that's a nice bonus in my book and totally forgot the double score you can change the recovery speed the apex can't

i find the ds to be very unbalanced and heavy also the shaft feels very cheap and the clamps don't hold well if you put pressure on the they will move down.. otherwise ok detector
