290: Kohler Wellworth Tests

- This was a requested video and I thought it was about time I got it done. I think it did pretty good for being an older class 5 wellworth. When I did the plugged siphon jet flushes I had to hold down the handle to get it to siphon out.

I think it's a great toilet, among all 1.6 gpf... Obviously not as great as a vintage one, but one of the best modern ones
The previous version 1998 to 2007 was far better. I don't know why they changed.

I had that same toilet too it was in a old house but we moved into another house but these toilets are so different I wasn’t scared of it at all it was like normal or is it too scared but when we move into a new house that had a new three toilets are usually use the upstairs one in your Nuniz room and actually Emily‘s room or use it I don’t get scared because I don’t usually flush it I don’t use that toilet anymore

We used to have one of these in the third floor bathroom where I live. I used to have fun clogging the jet & watching it flush like an old school Kohler Highline. Unfortunately, this toilet was very clog prone & had a shitty bowl rinse. As a result, I replaced it back in March with a 2019 American Standard Cadet 3, which works much better.

Great video! I get same results with my Highline. I like the flush better with the jet blocked for the rinse. I am thinking about putting a 2" flush valve in it.
It works with a normal 2in flush valve but it's a little weaker than the Kohler flush tower. I think the added length of the flush makes up for it though.

He blocked the siphon jet and he hold the the handle of the toilet down and that’s how it flushes like that.

I tried plugging the siphon jet on the Proflo toilet in my house but it never siphoned even when held the handle down . (It uses 1.28 gallons)

I know this video is from 2016...but I installed a 2018 Kohler Highline Classic just a few days ago. When I put the tank on, I noticed that the flush valve seems to funnel down to 2", as was the design from the previous Ingenium line. Have you ever tried to rig one of these with a 2" flapper or a pressure tank? The latter would be really awesome, I think.
I get all kinds of toilets frequently. If I ever get a newer Wellworth or Highline, I will hook it up to one of my pressure tanks or my high tank.

You said that this is an older class 5 Wellworth. Did Kohler redesign the Wellworth again?
No I don't think so. This wellworth was made before there was a normal and a Classic version so I just say it's an older one. My 2012 Wellworth is the redesigned one and the bowl is a little different.
@KDMCPlumbing I know what the class 5 looks like. Although there is a unique flush to the class 5.
