Actually it was more of Don King coming to the picture more than Cus Dying that really ruined Mike. Before Cus died he did make sure that there will be people who would look after Mike's training and finances. He kept him away from Don King knowing how much of a shrewd character he is. When Don eventually got to Mike, he convinced him to fire everyone. And that black people should stick together. So Mike did, and it was downhill from there

I think firing Rooney was his last straw b4 his downfall, don king was in the picture before he was heavyweight champ so we can’t just blame it on that, if you look at the timeline of him firing Rooney and the decline of his body and fight performance is simultaneous with each other, Rooney was mikes last tie to Cus, and the only man who could keep mike grounded during that time.

He’s not and love Tyson. Styles makes fights. Ali would have picked Tyson apart and Foreman hit just as hard. Both I believe would have beat Tyson. FYI, Tyson never fought Riddick Bowe and that was for a reason. Style wise Tyson didn’t match up with Bowe and I believe he would have had problems. The fact that people think Tyson would destroy Ali or most/any top ten of all time is absurd to me. These people don't get that the best pulled out victories they weren't supposed to, and Mike never did that. Mike tyson will always be great, but never one of the greatest. I believe the most amazing feat is having 28 fights in his first 20 months of boxing, culminating with the Berbick fight and his first HW title, then took just 3.5 months off before his first title defense. None of the fighters today have a schedule that full. He's the absolute goat alongside Joe Louis. Out of those two fighters tho, if I'm being honest, Mike Tyson is the only fighter that just seems scary, especially in that first few years of his career, an absolute monster. A genuine tactician too, and student of the game, which he would never have gotten the credit for back then, because everyone talked out of their asses so much that good and genuine self-reflective talk just got passed off as modest bragging or outright arrogant behavior.

His movement and reaction time were underrated. Everyone was so in awe of his power, they often missed that. The combination of speed, power and movement was unlike ANYTHING we've seen before or after. Foreman, Frazier, Morrison, Shavers, Tua, Ibeabuchi, etc had power. Ali, Byrd and even Holmes to to some point had speed. Tyson had both, equal to or above the aforementioned fighters.

Before Tyson lost his confidence after losing to Douglas, he put his whole body into every punch. That's why every punch was so devastating. You can see his whole body moving with his gloves. When he came back after his first loss, he didn't really do that anymore, and I think it's because he didn't have the same confidence Cus D'Amato gave him.
I think Mike Tyson will probably always hold the records for youngest heavyweight champion and youngest undisputed champion.

This little dude is like 20 years old and by about 90 seconds into Round 1 you're realizing that you have never been in the ring with any thing like this before, and it's the first time you've actually been afraid of another man inside the boxing ring.
