This is something else from Mendelssohn. Totally a joy to listen to. And that last one, when it suddenly turns into a minor key for the ending, a total surprise.
I'm definitely developing a Felix mania. The third piece, a beautiful little fugue based on Bach-like methods but entirely Felix's, was gorgeous. Thank you Marie Catherine and Pianushko.
Even though no.3 is not played much evenly, and sounds rushed, 6:34 - 6:42 played so well reveals that the pianist understood the essence of this piece - which is the most important thing! But on the whole: I think she played no.3 "properly" even though it was rushed etc..
Too fast, hurried, messy, uneven. Truly a terrible performance. Number 4 is so fast that it loses its line. The hands are not together and not at all clean. Just not well played at all.
She is certainly an outstanding pianist with some very impressive recordings of obscure repertoire, but I also feel that the fourth piece is a bit garbled and the first rather matter-of-fact and lacking in atmosphere. it doesn't help that the dynamic range of the piano is rather narrow. Playing these pieces on a modern instrument at this speed is quite a technical achievement, though, and given the relative scarcity of recordings, this is definitely worth a listen.
Maravilhosa interpretação! Que belas músicas de Mendelssohn!
WONDERFUL PLAYING! Mendelssohn would be happy!

Reverse picardy third

Quelle belle interprétation, c'est magnifique.
Brava! For those who want to track down the score, this is Seven Characteristic Pieces, Op. 7 (1827).
Very profound rendition.
In his book The Romantic Generation, Charles Rosen calls this "one of Mendelssohn's earliest and finest achievements." Yet it is scarcely known.
Exactly!
Nice.
like the 1st one in E Minor very pretty
Brava!!!!!!!
Perfect
4th and last piece is too fast for me. It doesn't seem to suit to the style of the piece.
agreed!
LOVE to hear YOU PLAY THEM, asshole!

@@muscledaddypaul1 Not really relevant whether he can play them himself, though, is it?
это плохое исполнение.
