As a former gifted kid (different school, similar program), I relate to this hard. Not only were we socially isolated and never learned how to properly study, we were also forced into stupid extracurricular activities that we had to work on during and outside of school that functioned as great trauma bonding and relationship testing for us all

Actually the mythbusters built a boat with almost nothing but duct tape! It did a pretty darn good job too!
Smo-Joe Smo It was a professionally built boat with steal wiring. The duct tape absorbed the water but wiring doesnt absorb water. With a cardboard boat the water is absorbed by ducttape then transferred to the cardboard to weigh down the boat and therefore sinking it.
Shadowstar101 In highschool we did boat projects for physics and duct tape was a great resource. Pretty much the only boats that sank were the ones that used little to no duct tape. Then again I guess it varies on the type of duct tape used.

We had to do this for ap physics. It was at the end of the year and had nothing to do with physics. My group used ten rolls of duct tape and completely covered the boat in it. Our group won, and our name was the Salty Seamen.
My class had to calculate how far up the water would go, do an obstacle course with the boat, only 1 roll of ductape and hold multiple people.

My sister almost succeeded with hers but she added in a snack pocket. She covered basically the whole boat in duct tape to seal it in and the pocket was the only thing they didn’t insulate so water got in and sunk the boat. My sister did this in high school not third grade lol
