Made this last night before bed, so it rested all night. So good for breakfast, with the cream off the top of whole milk yogurt. It's really easy to make, just plan on waiting for the semolina to soak and the whole thing to bake. So worth it!

Simnel cake also adds a layer of marzipan halfway through cake. So half fill tin and smooth out when a rolled out layer of marzipan the size of tin is laid onto it before adding the remainder and finishing as shown. But I'd like to try this one without the eggs and flour or butter. My father who lived through two wars often spoke about semolina. We also had semolina deserts cooked in pot with milk and a little sugar until thickened.

Nice. Add half teaspoon of cardamom powder to the batter and, Sambali will smell yummy. Blend almonds peels and water and add the gravy to your vegetable curry, soups. The peels are highly nutritive and should not be discarded.
