I tried it today on Eid. I am in Canada and visited Istanbul recently. I just fell in love with Turkey. 🇹🇷 love Türkiye.
Made this last night before bed, so it rested all night. So good for breakfast, with the cream off the top of whole milk yogurt. It's really easy to make, just plan on waiting for the semolina to soak and the whole thing to bake. So worth it!
Definitely wouldn’t recommend eating something so high in sugar for breakfast! It’s a dessert

In Algeria it is called "heart of almond "because they add a layer of crust almond in the middle of it, it is specially consumed in Ramadan .
That is a good idea. Do you have anything else beside almonds in the layer
We also meke bassboussa in algeria.
Other middle East countries do too
@@TFT you'll find the recipe on RUclips. Just tape "kalbalouz "
Simnel cake also adds a layer of marzipan halfway through cake. So half fill tin and smooth out when a rolled out layer of marzipan the size of tin is laid onto it before adding the remainder and finishing as shown. But I'd like to try this one without the eggs and flour or butter. My father who lived through two wars often spoke about semolina. We also had semolina deserts cooked in pot with milk and a little sugar until thickened.

Hi. I tried this receipe at home. It was awesome. Shared with neighbours as well. They also liked it.
this semolina looking yellow ..why ?
@@pushpachoudhary408 because its turkish semolina
@@pushpachoudhary408 Hi Meri Jaan...!!! Semolina made from durum wheat is pale yellow in color. Semolina is often used as the base for dried products such as couscous, which is made by mixing roughly 2 parts semolina with 1 part durum flour (finely ground semolina). ... When semolina comes from softer types of wheat, it is white in color...!!!
