  • There is science in Ifa but Ifa is not science. When people speak of science, it's code for universality. The danger of universality is that it prioritizes a single story and approach. Anything outside of that story becomes a pathology. It is inherently inferior.
    When we say Ifa is science, they inadvertently or even secretly hoping that Ifa will validate everything that Western disciplines have said about what is real, true and important. But Ifa transcends spiritual materialism. It intends to take you far beyond being right and getting what you want.

    In May 2018, I got my DNA results back from African Ancestry it revealed that my Maternal ancestry is from the HAUSA & Yoruba Tribes in Nigeria. I grew up as a little boy in the Baptist church and my inner spirit (Ori Inu) I felt something wasn't right and that my ancestors was pushing me towards something greater. I've purchased your books and read them. I'm seeking guidance in learning and unlocking my Yoruba history and spirituality.

    Thank You! There's so much I want you to teach me about our Yoruba culture and spirituality. I know change is never easy, but with your guidance I know I can do it. Tomorrow, I will be signing up for your membership & the year long priesthood course that you offer online.

    So I signed up for the yearly membership. After signing up I became very skeptical because I really do not want to follow another dogmatic system so I didn't jump in right away....... now after this video I am eager to get started to learn because its just black and white. Thank you for this

      ObafemiO thank you. It means a lot. I’ve been going through this emotional roller coaster with religion and spirituality. There are things I want to accomplish in life. I’m just exhausted with the manipulation and emptiness in the experiences I’ve had. Blessings to you and this work!

    Is there a point where it starts making sense... Because from the outside looking in, not only is it not scientific but it doesn’t seem to have a lot of reason and sensibility behind it

      Do you think a way of life that is robust enough to survive 10,000 plus years is a good reason, to survive genocide and slavery, staying connected with our ancestors? That is concrete. atleast, this feels concrete to me to listen up on what these people are sharing.

    I’m a beginner so is IFA the unseen divine work of Olodumare?

    • @ObafemiO
      @ObafemiO  6 лет назад +1

      ifa is the sacred text or divine word of olodumare

      ObafemiO thank you and where can I find it

    • @ObafemiO
      @ObafemiO  6 лет назад

      ok, that is a bit tricky because ifa is still an oral tradition and insulated practice. it's a bit like computers, in the sense that everybody uses a computer but only engineers build and program them. so, you might get your hands on a book of three or four coding languages but you cannot really understand it because it's not written for general consumption. consider how many versions of the bible there are and how many times it's been translated, for example... so, if you want to learn the TEACHINGS and the WISDOM of ifa, i would suggest that you join TiwanTiwa at www.OrisaLifestyle.com. The lessons are packaged in order for you to learn and gradually enter into the deeper, coded messages of Ifa.

    Abour aboye abosise.
    How is IFA manifested within a community? Please give information from a political structural perspective. Can you give me an example? Do you have literature that you can direct me to, because I know you R busy as ever.
    My thinking/thoughts are on a community building perspective.
    ODOLA,
    Stephanie p.s. Just direct me to reading material is ok. Loving you totally

      that is a great question... there are many sources of information on ifa and its role in the management of yoruba civilization. most of it is kind of academic. but if you search for yoruba divine kingship, you'll see lots. in my book THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ORISA LIFESTYLE, i offer an entirely community oriented perspective, that explains the way ifa manifests in the life of the individual, family, ancestors, peer group. vocational training, economic structure, political organization and finally, spiritual development. you can get it at obafemio.com/publications
