My partner and I watched your bargello tutorial and then the half square triangle video with the 80's theme yesterday (LOVED IT~~!!). When he heard that your grandpa taught you how to quilt he must have gotten over the 'quilting is for girls' idea...because we started working on a bargello together today. He cut all the 2.5 strips. I sewed them up and pressed them. He then cut up all the tubes into the correct widths, no mistakes!! Then he went out and came home with supplies for a design wall today after the cutting was done. All I can say is thank you so much Angela!
A cathedral windows quilt is top on my bucket list. My great aunt was a quilter who did everything by hand. All her stuff was amazing but her cathedral windows were really something else. One day I'll do it.
I love this quilt especially because of the glitzy fabric you used. I love the metallic and the butterflies are so cute. I may have to get this for my daughter since she loves butterflies. You can tell how much you love FMQ when you look at the quilting you do on your quilts. Fabulous! Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
My bucket list has a Grandmother's flower garden quilt on it......I started it two years ago. Have always want to do the snail pattern. You made it seem so easy, it may be the next quilt. Thanks Angela.
On my bucket list is to finish my queen sized quilt I am currently working on. Last weekend, though, I was able to cross something off of my bucket list. And that was to hold a baby alligator! It was AWESOME!!!
I always love finding quilts, but never have the confidence to try them. I've tried "designing" my own and have completed three quilts. Not that they where any good. But I really enjoy making them. But while laying here at night watching the Midnight Quilt Show while my husband watches his stuff. If I find a quilt I like, I show it to him. We both really loved the 2-at-a-time Half Squares Triangle quilt you did last season. If I had a bucket list, that quilt would most likely be at the top of my list.
My bucket list is so long, but, Dresden plate in 30's fabrics. I inherited my grandmother's Dresden plate quilt made with feedbacks. I remember sleeping under it as a kid. It was used and abused and I lost it when my basement flooded. I want another one.
I just found you, im so excited. This is so very beautiful! I love the fabrics and the patterns of quilting. I have wanted to do a "snails trail," for a long time. I always thought it must be so difficult, but you have given me confidence. YOU explained and demonstrated so well. Thank you for sharing this with us.😊💖🦓Liz.
The double wedding ring quilt is on my bucket list. I’m doing a grandmothers flower garden all 1 in paper pieced right now. I’ve been working on it off and on for 5 years 😆
I'm sew glad to see you make a snail trail quilt Angela. It is on my bucket list too. I'm currently working on a feathered star quilt (actually Eleanor Burn's All Star Quilt). Also on my list is a Tennessee Waltz quilt, and a sampler quilt. Great show and I really enjoy your personality. Terry
WooHoo! You are SO my hero! Love to watch your videos and am inspired to finish the multitude of quilt tops already made. I know, a finished quilt is better than a perfect quilt top, right? My bucket list is very long as my creative mind works faster than my scissors and thread. I try to keep up, but there aren’t enough hours in a day! Wish there were only one to mention here, but, alas there’s only so much time to devote to this comment. Love you girl......happy quilting!
So pretty, Angela! Thanks for making this pattern a freebie... Snail's Trail is definitely on my "bucket list" of quilts. As is the Jinny Beyer-designed paper-pieced "Moonglow" quilt top I have nearly finished, and about a dozen Midnight Quilt Show & MSQC tutorial video quilts. ~Diana from Toronto (Canada)
I just started quilting so every quilt I do is on my bucket list, LOL. I love your show Angela and I can't wait to start trying some of them. Right now I have 3 T-shirt quilts that I am trying to finish, waiting on the owner to bring the back fabric of her choice so I know how big I can go. Thank you for the videos and keep up the GREAT work!!!!
HaHa! “ Why the snail not” I Love it Angela. I Love this pattern, it does look fun and easy, so I will be adding this one to my second bucket list. First bucket list is full 😆
Idk how you did it but you made thr snails trail 10x easier and way less intimidating. Ive been avoiding that block because everyone always makes it so diffixult or more complicated. THANK YOU
I want to do quilts from pictures. I have a picture of my daughter jumping in the waves at the beach, she has on a skirt because we were NOT going to get wet, and it’s one of my very favorite pictures. My bucket list is to make it into a quilt. Of course my mother-in-law has said I have to make her one like that too!
My Bucket list includes a lone star medallion quilt. My grandmother died 30 years ago and I inherited a project she started- she had the 8 arms of the star pieced but not joined. I was not a quilter them, but vowed to one day finish that quilt. I think I've gained enough experience to tackle the project now.
This is one on my bucket list. Thank you for showing me that it's not as hard as it looks. And I love the quilting you did.. now I just have to finish the two I'm working on so that I can get to this one!!!
My bucket list includes the Double Wedding Ring quilt and a Dresden quilt and something I think I’ll be adding onto the next quilt I make, an interesting border like the one you are doing for this quilt. I love the multi-fabric borders that I think really pull together any quilt in a special way, and one that shows how I was willing to go the extra mile to make this quilt really special.
My bucket list contains any of my original quilts, and the top of that list is the one that wins at one of the big shows. It's in me somewhere, and one day I'll ahve the courage to enter!
This snail quilt is gorgeous. I think it’s the prettiest quilt I’ve ever seen. The fabric colors and gold touches and white dashing and background and colored trim all work together to be just stunning. The quilting sends it “over the top”!
I saw Cynthia Wong’s quilt winner of the CQA ribbon at the Almaguin quilt show in South River this weekend. Pattern: LA PASSACAGLIA, English paper pieced and now one of those is on my budget list 🤗 it blew me away. I Will probably do a different pattern but still English paper pieced. It was inspiring
I'm working on my bucket list quilt right now. I've always loved Judy Niemeyer's designs and had a chance to take a class for her Fire Island Hosta Queen a couple months ago. With luck I'll get the top finished today!
The snails trail is one on my bucket list - The wave like movement appeals to me. Thank you for demonstrating this pattern - seems very achievable now.
I’m collecting yellow fat qtrs for a yellow and gray quilt with half square triangles. In the meantime I’m making baby quilts with all different block patterns I see on you tube and practicing the quilting designs from you. Trying to clear out my stash as I get to go to the Fall Paducah Quilt show! So excited to see quilts and buy more fabric! Thanks for your inspiration! Oh, and now the snails trail pattern is on my bucket list.....
I finally finished my first Irish Chain (king size) which was the quilt that made me want to learn quilting. The snail trail is the second quilt on my bucket list.
I have a white board where I write down all the quilts I’m working on in the order they need to be finished. There’s 11 of them on the list 😱🤗😅 I have all the fabric cut out for each of them, and just I take turns piecing them. My dream is to get them all ready to quilt and rent out the use of the long arm at my LQS.
This is totaaly one of the top ten on my bucket list after all my sew alongs. So happy you did this one. It is gorgeous. And the quilting is awesome. Thanks Angela
I love your show and look forward to every episode. My bucket list quilt is a double wedding ring. I am hoping to get some of it done this winter while I am waiting for spring to show up. Keep up the great job of bringing us new and redesigned instructions with your wonderful sense of humour.
My bucket list quilt is any quilt I start on. I always want to start another quilt in the middle of the one I'm working on. I may or may not currently have 8 in various states of -un- finished at the moment. I work on one for a week, then switch... Keeps me from getting bored, and makes my brain very, very angry, so it's a win-win!
Loralye, I'm pretty sure we're crazy, we're just the _good_ kind of crazy! :D (PS - I loooove your name! I always wished I were a Loralye, but I'm just a Laura. BORING.)
The snail trail quilt has always fascinated me. And your colors used are my favorites! I've done a sort of log cabin and a jelly roll race and rail fence. My bucket list quilt now is to finish the double wedding ring anniversary quilt that I started for my cousin a couple years ago. I got a little ambitious for my first large quilt and decided to hand piece and hand quilt. Umm, their 2 year anniversary is in a month, but I'm still trying. It may take me until their 5th anniversary, but what an anniversary gift, right? No one ever gets really nice gifts like that for anniversaries (at least not in my family). I adore watching you. Your "finished is better than perfect is what has kept me going on the massive anniversary quilt because I know they will love and treasure it even if I think there are flaws. Thank you for so much hard work. Maybe I'll do the 🐌 quilt for the newest baby in the family. Then it's only a little project. 😘
That fabric is amazing, your quilting ... always great to watch. My bucket list quilt would be a bowtie quilt in honor of the vintage ones I’ve seen. Just finding so many differing fabrics would be just as fun as the construction.
On my bucket list? Probably the double wedding ring and a pineapple quilt. I can't for get the Irish chain. Some days I'd be happy to make any quilt! As you say.... it's great therapy!!!
This is perfect because I was gifted a bundle of 20 fat quarters and I was waiting to find the PERFECT pattern and I think I have found it!! Thank you, Angela!
On my bucket list is Storm at Sea, but maybe with reds, orange, yellows. However, this year is all about decreasing my stash and picking patterns to use up those fabrics (well...maybe I might have bought one or two other fabrics too).
I really want to do a Mariner's Compass quilt but have so many projects on the go that I will just have to keep on planning it for a bit longer. Those points scare me but thanks to you, Angela, I am beginning to master Free Motion Quilting so I will give it a go sometime relatively soon.
Well I have 2 on my bucket list first is grandmothers garden I finished the top of now I need to learn how to hand quilt it. The second is the double wedding ring. Love your videos.
Storm at sea, snail trail, double wedding ring, island hosta, and Tula Nova are my bucket list. I am almost finished with a Harry Potter paper pieced book case quilt. ☺
I love it. I guess this one has to be on my Bucket List now. But, there are a few that I have to do first. But I really love the colors and the design.
My bucket list: practically all the quilts you put together :) I just love the midnight quilt show and I hope some day I'll be brave enough to finally start a big quilt!
Hey Angela! I have (3) bed runners from my late daughters clothing and a EPP hexie quilt that's on my bucket list. I hope to get the runners completed by this Christmas and there is no hurry on the hexies since I will only piece them while at Dr's appointments, traveling, during stressful situations and anytime I need quilty therapy.☺️. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us.
My bucket list includes a cathedral window and a crazy quilt. I'm currently working on some English Paper Piecing. Love the fabrics you used in your snails trail!
Apple Core is top of my future list since 1998- the first idea that pulled me into quilt sewing. Back then I realized I had to improve my cutting and prob need to retire to make it (junior in hs in 98!) Nowadays, I just need to invest in all the sizzix paraphernalia and get to it. However, between then and now, I piled up 'realistic' quilts and projects that need finishing first.
My first bucket list quilt was the Hunter's Star. I picked up the Rapid Fire Hunters Star ruler, and it made it SO EASY! They are now my go-to quilt for when I need a quick gift for someone who is not entirely quilt-worthy (no, you aren't alone in identifying people as such!). My new bucket list quilts are a Storm At Sea, and the Snail's Trail was on there too... so now I think I'll be able to check that one off soon. :) thanks!
I really like the snail trail and your colour choices are lush. I would like to try this too. Also New York Beauty and a Bargello. I've been quilting for 2 years and love it so much. I've made 7 quilts and have 3 that I am quilting at the moment. Thank you for your video xxx
Love your miniature town square quilt in the frame. I made that quilt and gifted to a friend and she LOVES it! Thanks for the great pattern and tutorial.
This is great Angela!!! ... how did you know that I also have some shimmery fabrics that I didn't know what to do with?? So yes, those fabrics are in my bucket list ... Thanks for this great possibility!! Really like the cutting instructions on the pattern. No waste!! Thank you and love your snail trail quilt.
Funny you say the snails trail is on your bucket list, it’s on my list for my daughters 40th birthday, well she just turned 41 so I’m a bit behind. There are many different ways to make the snails trail so I’ve been looking for the best one for me to make. Your way works for me! Love your show!
My bucket list quilt right now is the Braided Star quilt. I ordered the kit and thread. It's so pretty sitting in the clear bag it came it I just want to admire it for a while. Whenever I get frustrated with what I'm working on, just seeing it makes me feel better. It's like a reward waiting for me, LOL. I think I need to get out more
My partner and I watched your bargello tutorial and then the half square triangle video with the 80's theme yesterday (LOVED IT~~!!). My bucket list is...all of them, of course.
On my bucket list is to finish my queen sized quilt I am currently working on. Last weekend, though, I was able to cross something off of my bucket list. And that was to hold a baby alligator! It was AWESOME!!!
Tula Pink’s Butterfly Quilt was on my bucket list and my first finish of 2023!
I always love finding quilts, but never have the confidence to try them. I've tried "designing" my own and have completed three quilts. Not that they where any good. But I really enjoy making them. Two quilts for the bucket list instantly spring to mind -- a traditional Burgoyne Surrounded and a Giant Dahlia.
My bucket list is so long, but, Dresden plate in 30's fabrics. I inherited my grandmother's Dresden plate quilt made with feedbacks. I remember sleeping under it as a kid. It was used and abused and I lost it when my basement flooded. I want another one.

Turned out beautiful. Love the colors.

I used to do that with crocheted afghans! LOL
Shirley - That makes me feel so much better! Haha!! It's nice to have multiple projects, but "occasionally" it can get confusing... :D
Quilts Jenny
Oh thank goodness I’m not the only one that does this! I was beginning to think I was crazy!

I think I need to get out more
Love the Snails Trail....beautiful fabrics! My bucket list quilt was a bargello I made last year! Took 8 weeks, but I was excited how it turned out!
The bargello is my bucket list quilt for sure! Haha
My bucket list includes a big Lone Star quilt :)
