No joke, my 2016 meriva started developing power issues on hills with traction control kicking in a couple of weeks ago. Needed new coil pack and threw in a set of plugs at same time. Never did car maintenance before your vids but do own filters now. Much appreciated

Exactly what happened with my Meriva.......took10 minutes to replace coil and is running smoothly
My other half has the same problem. Misfire cylinder 4 and traction control light comes on
@@dangerman01582 Get a coil pack and do it I would say. I can't hang a picture but with the help of @baconbutties and the RUclips pause button its really straight forward
I put a new coil pack and plugs in and the Meriva is firing on all cylinders again

Had the exact same problem with my 1.4turbo. Shortly after replacement another problem arose. Intermittent ignition after a few miles miss firing at high revs . This one took ages to find but it relates to the horn not working. That was easy replaced the horn relay no problem but it took me ages to figure out the relays of the same kind in fuse box were all going intermittent but not at the same time. That included the ignition relay and fuel pump. So if you have one of these pieces of junk buy some Chinese replacement relays as opposed to the OEM Portuguese relays. Although not related to the coil pack issue it did make me think my replacement coil pack was faulty but I now have a spare LoL. Oh the replacement relays came for about £1 each from E-bay OEM from dealer £9-50. The 2012 car has only done 2500mls so this sort of shit shouldn't happen. Great video. Thank you. My Meriva B (petrol) is having intermittent difficulty starting up and rough idling for a very short while after start up. No noticeable issue when driving and the battery is good. The issue usually occurs after the car has sat for a few hours but not always?! Any ideas before I take it to a mechanic! Thank you.
Difficult to diagnose without actually seeing it in person.

Code 4 has shown up on the dash on a couple of occasions lately but only briefly.
I think I'm having the exact same issue. Did you ever find a solution? I've replaced the coil pack and spark plugs, battery is fine. It's got a really rough idle from cold. Sometimes it won't even start on the first few goes or will start and stall soon after. There's no real errors that come up, but occasionally I get the error saying the emissions are too high, but I think the engine is just struggling and then throwing that error

I did. The coolant temperature sensor was semi broken. On startup it always thought the coolant temperature was about 40C even when left over night.
I assume the car needs more fuel when the engine is cooler and it just wasn’t delivering enough because it thought it was warmer than it was.
My coil pack looked like New.. only running on 3 cylinders..bought a new one ebay about 30 quid..sorted

Hi mate, did your engine management light come on? I've a missfire on mine but only when warm and when i put the heaters on but only on tick over.
No the light did not come on at all. The heater thing is a bit strange?
@@baconbuttties took my coil pack out today and it looked like new, no corrosion at all, changed it anyway and it solved my problem. Just shows how varied the symptoms can be from the same fault. 👍🔧

Daughters vauxhall Adam same problem, any idea what size spark plug socket needed, thanks for video.
If they are the same size as my spark plugs on the Meriva then I did a video about how spark plug sockets can be different sizes. Mine was a Halfords 10mm but I will leave a link to the video because it does get a bit confusing.

Yes, common fault.
I only paid about £35 for a new pack so not too bad
