Fun coaster when it opened. Now, one of THE MOST PAINFUL coasters to ride. Feels like my head and ears were boxed by Mike Tyson!

Same here. I was there in 1996 and it wasn't that bad. I went there a couple years ago and it almost killed me no joke. I was so dizzy and had a pounding headache. Getting old lol.

@@simonriddick Still, one of my favorite rides. I paid attention to the signs and crew that say to sit in an upright position with your head facing forward. As well, removing any piercing and loose jewelry that may be on your person. Guess it's too much for most to read and listen to instructions🤷🏼‍♂️

honestly i felt the same way. i mean i actually rode something like it before ridding this but yeah i basically knew it would be a lot like the first coaster i rode.

I was going to make a similar comment. Glad I'm not the only one that felt that way afterwards.

I still have an old "top gun" picture of me and my old high school buddy laying around somewhere. Must have been around 1996...awesome ride.

It's insane going back to this time, I was 11, and remember the level of excitement I had to ride this. If I can remember, my friend from school chickened out, so I spent the majority of the 4.5 hour wait in line alone, and it didn't bother me one bit, Just being surrounded by other like minded individuals, taking in the features of the queue (trust me, when it actually had Top Gun. theming, there were some movie element and paraphernalia thrown in, as well as music from the film over the speakers)... now, much. older, and still just as much of a coaster enthusiast, just a lot more educated, you lament the fact that. this should have been. a B&M, and Paramount conceded to bring in this. catastrophe of an SLC from Vekoma, who has turned themselves around as a company, which is nice to see...the more manufacturers, the better variety we get as ride goers.. That said, the Cedar Fair acquisition couldn't come soon enough, and now with the three new B&Ms, and one rumoured for '25, the park has definitely made a 180.... I do feel though, as it's obvious that real estate to build at the park is coming at a premium (I remember attending as a child and it felt like you were driving to a deserted island, and now Leviathan is next door to a Popeyes it seems), they should look at removing some of these older rides....they have had their time...similar to SkyRider, Jet Scream etc... it's time to update a little bit...as much as I. love B&M, I do want to see some more of the top guys build for us... namely, RMC, who could definitely replace our. extremely aging wooden coasters (Wilde Beast and Minebuster)....Dragon Fire is such a classic, you might just keep it there as it serves a first ride, first inversion (as it did for me) attraction.....while I don't mind flat rides, and a lot of them are better than they look, I am a coaster guy...so the other top player would be Intamin...I mean how can you look at rides like Velocicoaster (no, I don't expect that theming), and not dream of having something epic in out park....I think we are 3-4 solid coasters/replacements away from placing ourselves back in the mix for premier parks in North America - as parks like Cedar Point and many of the Six Flags namesakes (prior to merger) are far ahead enough of us now to not really make it a worthwhile argument,....I'll be waiting, and I am sure when I attend in years to come with niece and nephews, and potentially children, they might have a lineup that is envied by park goers around the globe....however, for nostalgia sakes, I do hope they keep some of the classic, and maybe even look into some re-tracks/updates, other than. a coat of paint on the Bat.... Cheers!

If memory serves Top Gun broke down a few times when it opened. I remember stories about people's shoes falling off as well.
