San Diego Reef Starts Breaking During End of Year Swell - Day 1 - SLAW Sessions - 12/27/2023

In the late afternoon of 12-27-2023 the new swell continued to build. A rare San Diego reef break started to work as the tide dropped. The waves were anywhere from 4 - 7 foot faces. Some would turn out to be mush burgers and then others would suck out and offer a steeper face and barrel section. A small group of about a dozen surfers were on it with the swell starting to build.
