Lions fans have seen that type of game play out a thousand times. Blowing lead, unraveling, sinking in the quicksand. But to see them man handle their opponent on that last drive and refuse to be denied. Man it was a beautiful thing. I’m not used to this type of football 😂

If you aren't from here, you don't understand the stigma still lives until we have the Lombardi- that is the expectation. Shitty coaches, shitty ownership, shitty TEAMS- was our mantra. I've said we gave up an elite QB for an elite TEAM. But damn well done Campbell and especially Brad Holmes wiping the horrible Matt Millen days away.
Those Lions were RUSTY and still pulled it off. Jamo is and explosive option. Secondary looked better and rookie Terrion Arnold held up pretty good against one of the best route runners in Cooper Kupp.

I was worried the same old Lions were gonna show up... It's hard to break that expectation after 30 years of watching them.
People are forgetting about Laporta already. If they game plan for Jamo and Amon Ra, then Laporta gets open more. This offense is deadly no matter how you look at it. Weapons everywhere.

We didn’t play our starters on offense during the pre season, they needed to shake the rust off and it took until OT to do that. Next game will be different. Opposing defenses simply won’t be able to keep up as they get back into “game day” shape.
Monty worked out in Arizona the whole off season and it shows!! He is gonna have a career year!!

As a lions fan I was very underwhelmed. I believe there is more to come but I’m scared for Tampa bay. We will click soon but might lose a couple before then.
I will say that unporductuve 3rd quarters was a thing last season and seeing that again (other than 1 play) is a little disheartening. They do need to clean that up and make better adjustments. But other than that i like what i saw, especially in OT and from Waymo!!!

Of the Lions defensive week one starters, everyone but Anzalone, Davis and Davenport are on their rookie deals. They’re young, under contract, have a stacked roster, and are in great cap shape. They’re going to be good for a while.

I think so, got the win and there was a ton of sloppy play. A bunch to clean up, but we now have a kicker with range who was calm and clutch, Jamo emerged, Hutch looked like he got better, Defense although there were some botched plays looked better in the secondary. Kerby and Branch both had good games, Anzo looked like a pro bowler. Lots to be happy about in a sloppy victory especially the way we closed it in OT.

I truly believe that the Detroit Lions are the only team in the NFL who can realistically beat the Chiefs. We beat them in the first game of the regular season last year, we've beaten them in the preseason(granted: against backups and bubble guys), and I believe we will beat them again this year!! Plus Jared Goff is 2-0 againt Mahomes so... Thats an extra bonus.

Lions could really use a good DC. A good DC wouldn't have played a soft zone and let Stafford have short passes. He needed to be pressing those receivers and getting as much pressure on Stafford as possible. He let that Rams O-Line off the hook, and proved he's doesn't belong in the NFL as a DC.

Aiden Hutchinson, Alim McNeil, DJ Reader, and Marcus Davenport on that D-line is going to be a force. The depth is there too with Houston, Onwuzurike, and company. The secondary is improved and much deeper across the board, and for the first time in a long time I'm pretty happy with our whole lineup.

I saw the running back stay back one play to block the QB; I'll be honest, I didn't even know that was a thing. He's jacked but he's still about 5'10" and most teams have some monster-large guys coming down that way to take out a QB, so in addition to being smaller, you don't wanna lose the value of a runner if he gets knocked on his ass, but he just planted and without hesitation was staring motherfuckers down.
