Nobody goes to Thailand (or any country) and returns to avoid an "exit clearance" of they do, they they have misinformed or don't understand the process.

Dear Living Abroad: I've heard that the 6-month extension is no longer available. Also, do you have to forfeit your forward airline ticket? What a waste of money. It sounds like a scam between the airlines and the government. What westerner isn't going to have enough money to buy an airline ticket out? Once you stay longer than the initial first month after extending your visa you won't have an onward reservation anyway! I've heard of websites that allow you to make a fake temporary reservation just for the purpose of entering countries that have this ridiculous requirement. Do you know anything about this? By the time you have gone through all of the hassle, any satisfaction one could garner from the travel experience is dubious! Thanks for the information. Sincerely yours,

I would be coming from the USA for the first time and I would probably stay at least 6 months. but I would do anything (even pay extra) to not have to exit the country for 24 hours and then come back in. just a massive hassle.

    • @Livingabroadalex

Not with a Visa on arrival tourist stamp on your passport. There may be 6 month multientry tourist visas issued if you apply for one from your home country prior to your arrival to the PH. But I wouldn't recommend it due to the application fee and time. It doesn't make sense since entering PH is so easy and extending your stay one you're here etc.

    • @Livingabroadalex

Huh? Why haha. I haven't heard of a single person doing that. It's a simple form you fill out and take a photo at the shop next to the office and they hand you a piece of paper. Nothing else need on our part. It's a simple letter that says you haven't committed any crimes in your 6 mo ths and are clear to go.

People vsiit thailand and come back when they've already been here 3 years, so they can restart their 3 year tourist visa allowence.
I don't need to investigate. I just did it less than a year ago personally. I also asked when I was at the bureau last week.

Im sure this is a great video if Im going to extend my visa but im sure a lot of the viewers and new viewers arent gonna. The amount of energy used to make this video and edit for a small audience who's planning to get visa extended, I dont see much people are gonna watch this full through as it's not an entertaining video but rather, an educational video. Im not saying this is bad but if I am doing youtube for my job, I'd be doing exciting content than a small audience internet video. But hey, thats just me and Im most likely not gonna be watching this since I know I wont be extending my visa anytime soon and changes do occur in future so if I need to, i'll find for that in the future but watching this does get rather boring for me. At least for viewers like myself and new subbed as well who find journey and interview more exciting to watch.

Not sure if other people said this to you but I can name 10+ things you are doing for views since you're bringing it up. But Im not gonna put you on blast but when you came back to Philippines and only philippines since thats your highest views. it says a lot there. I can go on but im not gonna put you on blast. I do appreciate you replying tho. I watch because I like your videos. Well, Philippines at least. I also wasnt gonna say this but since you said this, I might as well. And if I see it, Im sure others can. Im not saying it's wrong if you are. Youtubing is part of work and hey, I'd go where big earnings are. No shame in going where the views are. We look for work in real life and apply jobs where big money are. No shame in that. Everyone does it and shouldnt be looked upon. And Im sure 95%+ of growing big channels who also wish to make youtube as their main earning, it would make sense. People dont admit it but everyone knows and no one should be ashamed of that. No one is doing anything wrong in this. I'm also a viewer and have a right to dislike and you are correct if I don't like it, I can go somewhere else. I respect that. But like I said, I like your videos and I will say which I also dont like. It's part of life. If I really hate 100% everything, I'd bash 100% everything or not even watch anything here at all

    • @Livingabroadalex
      @Livingabroadalex  Год назад

Firstly, thanks for having a civil conversation with me.
Something to point out. 1. I said not all my videos are for views. Thus admitting to making some videos only for views.
I make long form interviews which don't do as well. I also make daily vlogs like local interactions and going to the market, etc. Which don't do nearly as well. If ALL I wanted were views, then I'd just only do street interviews.
      2. India gave me the most views and subscribers. (I'll never go back to india) The Malaysia series was also very popular
      3. I've said in my live streams aside from the people, the sense feeling welcomed, and the feeling of home, i cam back to the Philippines because it makes my job (youtube easier) language, approachability and ultimately views.
      4. If views were all I cared about, I wouldn't ve leaving the Philippines on Monday
While you're free to say what you feel and which videos you like or dislike. Heck, you're free to not even like me. At some point, the comments become toxic. I've let a lot of the things you've said slide, such as underhanded comments about the times of the live stream, etc. But you could have simply not watched the visa video and kept your comments to yourself, but you just comes across really negative lately.

On another note, i do agree that on a personal level that the video was not worth the effort. I knew it would get very few views.
But the reality is , I've always wanted to help people. I'm not there yet to do so financially. But this is my small way for now. From time to time, I release an informative video.
