I had a Series 2 from 1971 to 1975. (originally constructed in 1962), the aluminium on yours looks like stainless, mine never ever looked that good. Mine was the same colour scheme, with a black interior. Started life as the America version, with BMC engine ended up with the twin cm engine fitted. Luckily never broke the diff. Sold it to get married ,loved, and still love that car. (Still love my wife), Never mind. Who knows, perhaps it is still out there LBJ 274. Very nice video well done to whoever made it.

Thank you for the kind words. I guess I'm hooked on 7s. I've owned four and have now have one I've owned 3 different times.😀

Cool Dan, it's time to take the bonnet back to the bondo heaven (Wion's) and get touched up. Kim&Stef.

Very nice. Would have been useful to have some information about the engine build. For example, is it bog-standard or is it modified and if so, to what extent.

Hi. Thanks for your comment. The engine is a 1275 BMC pretty much stock with a mild cam. With a car that weighs less than 1200 pounds it scooted around quite nicely. I no longer own it.

@@FolsomDann Should be about 65 bhp, so nearly 120 bhp/ tonne. Should have similar performance to an MGB V8 or a (US spec) Triumph TR6.

Great video 👍👍can’t believe you’ve not got more views great video 😄I’ve restored a replica Lotus 7 on my PetrolDiaries RUclips channel. I’m hopeful to buy the real thing to sit alongside my Lotus Type 23🍻

Thanks for the comments. The two videos were made to add to my Bring-a-Trailer listing for the car. That probably accounts for the views. Both were very quickly done. I'v watched a couple of your videos as well and am impressed. Great job on the cars and very good production of the videos. Keep up the good work. Incidentally, the car sold and is heading to the Caribbean.
