As a long time Ministry fan from the 80s who has lived and breathed Wax Trax!, I applaud your dedication and fandom in actually making a trip to ChiTown to meet Al and grab a copy of the book. That being said, so much of it came across as sad and underwhelming, especially the after event. I think the glory days of the Chicago scene have passed us by. 😣
Yeah sounds like the ship for “landmarks” sailed during the 90s. I asked some people about music video spots, photo shoot locations, etc, and they all told me “most of Chicago was rebuilt and transformed, only thing you can really find now is the Wax Trax building.” Even Blues Brothers! One of my favorite movies, the Soul Food Cafe was bought by the college and torn down.
Gotta remember one thing about the past. back then.....we talked with one another, often. Technology has killed the friendships we used to enjoy, plus we were younger then and you had lots of people to talk with at your school etc. At least I did.
Thanks for capturing this experience for us all! I saw Ministry in 2015, Al jumped off the stage and sung right in our faces and of course everyone reached out to get a high five or a touch, but I managed to get a hand shake and also caught a beer he threw out to the crowd. Jealous you actually got to meet the man
Killer Vid... Never met Al but saw Ministry twice in the early nineties they were phenomenal. I was lucky enough to go to the Wax trax store as a young teen on Lincoln as well as the other Damen location. I once was flipping through vinyl and ine if the dividers had one of Al's old Com ed. Bills taped to it...great place.
Aw broski great video.. seen them at House of blues in Chicago during the CUla-tour . My GF was able to get on stage with Revco during Do you think I'm sexy cover good times man haven't got to meet Uncle Al yet tho lol
Dude, thank you for your videos about the Ministry. Excellent material delivery and installation. I learned a lot of interesting things for myself. I would like to see even more material about the new albums of the band or the entire history of the band. Thank you and great greetings from Russia
I’m watching MINISTRY for the first time in Japan this March and I made a bold move and bought a ticket for the Industrial Strength Tour at Orlando this summer to watch FLA and Ministry. I’m from Singapore, wish me luck for making it there this July. Looking forward to your videos on FLA and SP-The Process!!
I met kmfdm on several concerts from Chicago to Milwaukee. But never AL which is one of my favorites. Thanks for going and recording your time in the city!!

Metal for life n love from Australia dude
OH MAN! You got me busting up immediately with that fiery breakfast story! Good job pointing it out! Nice reprieve with the zoo. (Reminded me a bit of the Portland OR one.) Ministry burger?! THAT recipe seems to both fit and sound tasty too. Very different. (I just paused and wrote down the ingredients.) WHOAH! An Eye Hate God promo framed! At the venue it’s really great to see all the displays. I had so little access to this kind of thing growing up with Ministry I felt I never would see stuff like this. All that excitement? I’ll bet you slept for 16 hours. I could do almost nothing in the signing and post-signing portion of this but smile! Thank you! (And also for thanking him. That was perfect!)
Sweet man. i hope i can get to meet my hero Slash when i go to see Guns N Roses in Missoula. also will be my first concert ever. also congrats man on meeting Al.
If you’re gonna be there a while, go to Giordanos for some damn good pizza! Lou Manalti’s is also signature Chicago. People often debate which one is better. You be the judge!
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack I have a Giordano's in Richfield and Minneapolis MN so I am planning on checking out a lower key pizza place there :) Not sure if I'll make it to Lou's.

Hey killbot, so off topic but for my 17th birthday my dad is taking me to a show of my choosing, I’m stuck between origin on March 13th and napalm death on 4/20, I’m a fan of both of their music but I have a hard time choosing which one I should go to. I like the musicianship of origin but I really like the raw sound of napalm death. Ik napalm death is on 4/20 and all but I can get weed anytime and my dad would kill me if he caught me smoking pot😂. So which one do you think I should go to if I wanted a good show experience. Thanks-Noah

Hey Killbot, have you ever heard Al's side project Surgical Meth Machine? It's four years old, but it's the best 'Ministry' I have heard since LORAH or Mind.
How about a nice 40 minute video about the seminal Bush Trilogy...I know it's not ur favorite era and neither is it mine (my fav is & always Synth Pop era) however, ministry really kicked arse on dees albums, especially Rio Grande Blood & I firmly believe this trilogy is soon escalating to legendary status cuz Uncle Al like reinvented Heavy Metal, brutha!! I’m seeing them in Atlanta! Well, the Bush albums might get one big video with all of them. I’d like to do one on Twitch too if I can find enough interviews about it. Not a fan of the last three albums, but really looking forward to this next one. Next album doc I wanna do is Skinny Puppy “the process.”
Very cool that your JBMH oil canister made it in the book. Always thought that was a cool item. I contributed some early photos and flyers that they used. Are you prongs member by any chance? Lots of cool people over there that share stories, materials and such.
Not a member, but have read most of the interviews on that website! Cool that some of your stuff got used. There were one or two magazine pictures in the background of the “DSOTS” chapter that also made it in, but those aren’t as noticeable as the oil can.
Awesome video man, that looked like a really cool experience! Though maybe it would have been more awesome if most of the cool landmarks and buildings weren't torn down to make nail salons...

@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack awesome!👌👍 I definitely agree with giving FLA some love. I know it's probably not the right album, but one of my favorites of theirs is there live album "Live Wire"
Flavour of the Weak is probably the weird one of the 90s era, though a lot of people like it. I think FLA made their transition to the 21st Century better than most/all of their counterparts. Even the 2000s stuff is friggin awesome. KMFDM stopped being interesting after a while, Ministry stopped being original, 242 stopped existing, the Puppy became a different band, and TKK kinda did the same lounge thing again and again.

When this video was made, he’d sworn off meet and greets for years. Financial hardships of touring in 2024 sure does change things.

Lou’s opened before Giordanos. If I understand right, its more “old world” tasting. Biggest difference is the crust, less sauce, more butter
