Hello, I’m currently a high school student but I have been interested in becoming a pharmacist for a while. May I know from your perspective if this journey was worth it for you? And overall, what was your pharmacy school like? :)
Hi Grace! Thank you for commenting! Pharmacy is a rewarding and fulfilling profession. You get to help patients everyday by coming up with a health plan to dispensing medications. There are times when the burnout is real, especially if you work in a retail pharmacy setting. Education took 7 years and it took a lot of effort and time for me. I found that finding a good support group really helped. Nonetheless, I am excited to become a licensed pharmacist and I would not have done anything different! I suggest you pick up a part time job at a pharmacy (either retail or hospital-based) or ask the pharmacist if you can shadow them for a week to get more insight into the profession! Or you can also RUclips it! Thank you again, Grace.

Hi there, I am a P2 year PharmD student in Alberta, Canada. I noticed the drug information notes you have regarding Eliquis and other drugs. Out of curiosity, what online resource did you use to obtain them? They seem very helpful haha!
I compiled them from Lexicomp and treatment guidelines! As a student, you should have access to Lexicomp and an online journal database to get those guidelines! I hope this helped!

This is the patient education document that the inpatient pharmacists created for their patients! I use it as a checklist to counsel patients!

Can you specialize in cardiology after a pharm d? If yes then how? I mean what courses you need to get in?
Yes you can! During your final year of pharmacy, try to find residencies or fellowship programs that specialize in cardiology. For example, I just applied for a fellowship position at Flow Therapy, which is a cardiology treatment!

@@rabiazafaar I went to a 0-6 program. You start the program right after high school and it's only 6 years long. It's extremely nice! A normal 4+4 would require 4 years of undergrad, then an exam called the PCAT, and then you would apply for the next 4 years - which is annoying and some people get denied. If you can do a 0-6 program, DO IT! It saves SOOOO much time!!!
