I love Excel AND Python. This is exciting and am looking forward to getting the feature. I've already signed up on the beta channel, but yet to get the py feature integrated in Excel. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! I was wondering what the fuss about Python in Excel was because most videos use examples Power Query or Power Pivot can do. Yours is an eye opener.
Yes. I was watching a video from a Python guy who was pretending to be an Excel guy. (A) he clearly used g**gle sheets and (b) he used Python to write a function already in Excel. I keep looking for something that we can’t easily do in Excel.
Charging for anaconda? Nice one as Anaconda can be installed locally for free. I suppose they have to cover the cost of security and server space for the python in Excel calculations though.
Leila and Mynda are great people. You can already see how Mynda is thinking about updating her famous Dashboards using Python. It is good to see everyone's perspective.
Nice video. They sure do need to add functionality to create a slicer that can source its members directly frim an array or range of cells and doesn’t need to involve a pivottable. And then be able to reference the chosen members in downstream formulas. The pivottable part just makes it feel really hacky.
How do I enable Python scripts in Excel. I have confirmed my MS subscription, joined MS 365 Insider & signed up for Beta channel. What are the next steps?
Today, I tried using py.read_excel() and it is blocked too. There is a MSFT support article that says to load external data using Power Query and then run Python from there.
Nice video!, Bill there is a function in Excel:=INFO("RECALC"), but in my version it only shows "Manual" or "Automatic" but I have 3 options. You should actually have 4 options now. Did you check this out? If not, something to repair for the Redmond team...😉
Great catch. Automatic gives me AUTOMATIC Automatic Excel Pivot Tables gave me AUTOMATIC Manual gives me MANUAL I could have dismissed this as a feature instead of a bug because they are giving me the first word of the feature. But now.... Partial gives me AUTOMATIC. Now it is a bug.
I was watching Family Feud. If I didn't stay for the Fast Money round, I could have posted my video before Leila's. But no.... I had to see if they would win the $20K (They did not)

This honestly looks amazing. I'm just beginning to learn Python after greatly upping my Excel skills over the last several months so the timing of this feature is perfect. Can anybod tell me if Python in Excel works exactly how Python would work in the past with an Excel plugin? Meaning is there any Excel specific code?
Very interesting. However, if it's going to be a paid feature, I don't see any of my clients having it installed on their computers, until the day this becomes part of regular Office subscriptions and part of the default installation. It's too bad, because I learned Python and looked in detail into the Python frameworks to interact with Excel and that never took off, so I thought maybe now we'd finally start using Python in Excel.
@@MrXLI guess we have to wait and see how the adoption goes, and, if low, what Microsoft does about it. Not sure what their strategy is here by introducing Python. Thanks for the additional info.
Thanks for the awesome tour, Mr Excel!!!!!!
Thank you for watching, Mike!
@@MrXL I happily watch all your videos since the beginning way back when they were podcasts : ) : ) Thanks for being #1, Mr Excel !
I just grabbed my popcorn to and I'm watching it. Thank you! 💚🙏🏽

Provided Python doesn't start crashing Excel, it shouldn't be long.
Same here, I keep checking to see if my Beta has been updated.

Thanks so much for that list at the beginning!! Super helpful!
Rather than using something like, "Ctr, Alt, Shift, P" 1500 times, Why not just create a macro for it?
Thanks, Bill! Awesome follow up. Super helpful. I'm with you. Have been trying to work in Python for years with no success. This really helps!
The fact that we don't have to load libraries or load the data helps a lot.
Here is my Excel table... Now what can I do with it?

That's cool how you give credit to other RUclipsrs
Just the fact that you shout out to the other RUclipsrs (in fact, the other 2 that I watched too) makes me love this community even more.

I've never understood why it is so difficult for Microsoft to include slicers in new functionality.

Update Excel today (Aug 29) and try again. They included more Insiders today. I am betting It will reach 100% in September.
A little bit disappointed they haven't included a JSON library. I tried getting it to work with Import json, but it doesn't work.

So I signed up for the Beta on a Saturday, and by Monday I had it.
Lucky! Good for you. I love being in the group that has it. But often I am in the group without it.
I'm using 365 Apps for Enterprise, how to enable PY?

Hi everyone,
I had the python module yesterday but it disappeared today ! Did someone has the same issue ??? 🤔🤔
I have not heard of this.
Did you sign out and sign back in using another account?
Can I use python in excel 2016?
No. Excel 2016 did not support spillable arrays and you need those to bring the Python results back to the grid.
@MrXL which excel version do i need ?

I believe the xl() function to load a range into a data frame is new.
If that's all then that's great
6:36 graph is already done, how I can make a cluster graph like that?

I think we are paying for the Anaconda service instead of Python. It is supposed to provide some security.

What about R ?
I am not sure why they went with Python instead of R for this first integration.
