  • I recently took the ‪@SeaEagleBoats‬ 437ps PaddleSki out in the Chesapeake Bay. Exploring Cape Charles on the water was a great experience. There are so many different places to see within the area, but you just get a glimpse here in this video. It was a enjoyable and relaxing experience using the ‪@Bixpy‬ J-2 and seeing what the area had offer.

    We absolutely love ours. We E-kayak all the time, lock the electric motor to straight, set the speed you wants and utilize as paddle assist or just steering. Also just ordered the fast track kayak, will test it next week. Be safe!

      That is great. I love the small package of this unit and how well it does for it's size. I'm planning to fish off of the fs126 with the Bixpy K-1 next week at the beach. I'll probably use the transom mount and steer with that until I get to my fishing spot. That fast track looks pretty quick. Enjoy and be safe as well.

    By the way, I use both the included swivel seats and the inflatable deluxe seats with my Paddleski 437ps as you do.
    The included swivel seats are more comfortable......to some people. My wife is one of those people. I'm also told if you spend the entire day on the water, the swivel seats tend to be more comfortable.
    My boating adventures are usually 1.5 - 3 hours typically. What I like about the inflatable seats is I can fit them in the trunk of my sedan, where as the swivel seats have to go in my back seat and take up space. Also heavier to carry down to the water if I'm not using EZ-cart which I use depending on how far the water is from the car. I'm personally fine with either seat. If I'm on a multi-day trip or were to leave the boat in my car, I'd use the inflatable seats.

      I completely agree. I love the swivel seats, but they do take up a great deal of room and are indeed heavier. There will be instances where I will probably utilize the two swivel seats more, but for now with the kids being younger, I'll just put them on the inflatable seat ha. The inflatable seats can be adjusted too depending on how much air you use in them. The weather is starting to warm up and I am ready to get back out there on the PaddleSki.

    I launched my Paddleski 435ps here once several years back. It's been to almost every state on the east coast, and this was it's only time in the water in Virginia so far. I had the full sail rig hooked up and my Torqeedo motor. I think it was 2017, but I'd have to look through my photos/video clips.
    When we sailed back near the launch, we passed a small shark. The only one I've ever seen from the boat in almost 500 uses. It's only been on the ocean down south twice and I'm sure a very common sight. Up my way Cape Cod is a day trip and I'm sure we could see some great whites, but no thanks on a boat like this. LOL. I've yet to see a dolphin any kind of whale. We saw manatees last year when I bought a spare 435ps in Florida. I have a 437ps too.

      That is amazing. I am glad to hear that your 435 is going strong. That is such a neat boat. I bet the sail rig is a great addition to the kayak. I have yet to encounter a shark on a kayak/boat/inflatable just yet, but as far as the great whites go, gosh I would definitely stay away from them in any thing this small. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I am hoping to get a gas motor on my 437 and travel even further distances. Thanks again and keep on exploring!

      @@jonping8 I've had many great adventures on it.
      I use the Sharktivity App when I take it to Cape Cod to make sure there haven't been any sightings in the areas I take it to.
      A gas motor would provide great range, and speed to. My friend had nothing but trouble with his 2.5HP Yamaha he bought last year. From the feedback I've heard, I'd look into Honda. I don't like the idea of having gasoline inside my sedan, which is one of the reasons I went with the Torqeedo 1003.

    Is that paddle not long enough?

    • @jonping8
      @jonping8  Год назад +1

      It is long enough. It's the paddle that comes with the PaddleSki. Any shorter and you'll have a hard time paddling. It was good for me.

    How fast do you think you can go with that motor? Thanks

    • @jonping8
      @jonping8  Год назад +1

      I want to say at least 3MPH and most maybe 3.4. I can't remember exactly, but with the two pontoons and the raised floor, there isn't a whole lot of drag, but enough to slow you down some. It's a great motor for exploring nearby places.

    Hi. Does it track straight when paddling if there is no motor on the transom? Do the pontoons act as a skeg?

    • @jonping8
      @jonping8  Год назад +1

      I have found that the 437ps is bigger than the previous 435ps and that makes it a little harder to paddle. It's still very manageable though and depending on the wind and current it may not track as straight as deeper keeled kayaks or boats but it still works well. The entire middle section is off of the water so you may have some tracking ability with the pontoons.

    • @christopherl.miller4092
      @christopherl.miller4092 Год назад +2

      It does not! In my opinion, it is very difficult to keep it tracking. If I'm going to Kayak, I use my Sea Eagle Explorer but I do love my Paddle Ski for boating with a motor. I use the Honda 5 HP.

    • @jonping8

      @@christopherl.miller4092 definitely not the best for paddling, but with an electric motor, it does pretty good. I am looking at getting a gas motor soon. I bet it's a blast.

      @@jonping8 it absolutely is. Ran it up the Elk River (the most North East of the Chesapeake Bay) into the C&D Canal to Chesapeake City. Great time.
