Poor Yuma and Zexal they get so much hate. I mean literally no one who plays Yu-Gi-Oh! automatically becomes a pro as soon as they pick up a deck. I've watched the series to see how he'll improve as a duelist (with Yuma's character supposed to represent growth), as we got to see him clinch some wins with little to no guidance from Astral. As far as him, his signature card, and the overall story, Yuma's adventure is a play on Pandora's Box: He opened the door and all the Number Cards (represent the "Evils" in the world) escaped and scattered throughout Heartland. I wouldn't call drawing the right card at the right time cheating. Yuma does cheat whenever he pulls a don thousand and ahem... Brings out the cards true potential.
Yuma was legendary because like the average person, he started off as trash but with practice, mentorship and dedication, he got nice at the game. Look at the difference between his first and last duels of with Shark, the growth is unbelievable.
Yeah, but you're forgetting one important thing: It's Yuma, and that alone is worth disliking the video out of spite for the worst protag in Yugioh history, with an attitude and demeanor that makes you want to "Gatto"-bashyourskullin.
While at astral world on his duel with eliphis he summon rainbow kuriboh as a result to the forever zexal arc when the gang with the human emperors returned to normal by the numeron code by astral Rio suggest to yuma to wear the rainbow kuriboh cosplay when he loss the race to bronk.

What I think interesting about Yuma is that he didn't evolve as a character. Sure, his duel skill improved... But himself, he always stayed the enjoying life-full of energy kid that he was, even after all the shit he's been through. You might call this underdevelopment, but actually, this asks a lot more strength than to simply fade in the darkness as judai did. In the end, he is still able to smile and enjoy life, and this is why he is the only protagonist the girl confessed his love to
BThank a lot of his concept is just ripped straight from Yugi (young, gains ability to talk to ancient spirit who lost his memory and in some part must have a set of cards to regain memory, can fuse with said spirit through power of ancient artifact worn on neck to have a different appearance and the ability to draw a card that he needs) and tbh, YuGiOh DM was just better than Zexal
@@themageofcontext7071 yes, Zexal was a lot inspired from the three previous shows, but I think it was a lot better than DM. The anime of duel monsters was just a big mess with the first season being way too slow and childish, the noa arc which wasn't really interesting and ruined Marik's character as well as the end of Battle city, the orichalcos arc being extremely bad and ruining the last season... Which, tbh, was the biggest mess ever. Also, the graphics were terrible in the end of the show. Also, Kaiba was totally wasted as a character. Zexal was actually really good I think. The Barian arc was one of the best things to happen to yugioh so far, the characters were all interesting and unique on their own... And I think the character of Yuma was better than the anime counterpart of Yugi, who was only developped in the last terrible season. I agree on the fact The manga of duel monsters was really really good, but the anime is just not that great overall, while Zexal is just a nice little improvement all the while being a refreshment to what happened in the show before.
My all time favourite main character in Yu-GiOh. I really like the growth this character had, practically during the Astral World Arc. I wish Konami remembers his deck and buff them soon, I want more supports for Gagaga!!!
Well Yuma technically did turn evil at some point. I believe he was dueling Vector at Sargasso and he formed Zexal with Astral, but something happened (can't remember exactly, I think it was Astral found out Yuma lied to him about something or whatever) and Zexal then turned to Dark Zexal who then proceeded to try and lose the duel with a Chimera Clad Loop. So while it was technically Zexal that turned evil, Zexal IS a combo of Yuma and Astral and he does have Yuma's voice.
TheMadWasp astral felt betrayed after he found out that Yuma got rank up magic barian force from vector, and never told him. After this, a dark side formed in a astral's chest, which vector pushed to its limit. Then he forced Yuma into a Zexal morph. To be technical, Yuma wasn't Yuma at that time. Yuma normally has control over his zexal form, but dark Yuma wasn't controlled by Yuma.
does anyone else see what I see it's pretty obvious that he's a Super Saiyan I mean look at his hair two times it went golden and one time orange which is close to red so he pretty much with Super Saiyan God
I really like Yuma deck Becouse s made out of random card that reflects his character as a bad duellist 2:25 you see how we can see in the anime Yuma get in trouble very quickly and some time he get hurt so that why he is wearing those thing but is just a theory A YU GI OH THEORY
I met Yuma through Duel Links and, with a voice like his; I was expecting to be either indifferent towards him or be outright annoyed by him... but then I heard him say something that made me respect his character... or, at least, his attitude. I can't quote his line perfectly, but it was something along the lines of: _"I'm not afraid of losing! Cuz' it just makes winning feel all the more special!"_
Heartland city is the town of the xyz dimension for duelists to have fun until the spade branch for professional duelists and the clover branch of heartland duel school was constructed until yuto, shay and lulu came along with the resistance while the duel academy invasion kicks in.

Real fact: One could easily hate Xexal if one only judge the first episodes, is just a series that takes time set motion and get insanely good through the pass of time. Except for Yuma, he just grows to pro duelist status, but not King of Games level Yugi. :V
I was watching Yu-gi-oh again and when I got to the virtual world arc I couldn't help but notice that the duel between Tea and Penguinman is basically the pilot for the whole Yuma/Astral concept!
The voice comes from the door of Destiny as the trap card that explained the most valuable that will never be far apart when Yuma use his ace xyz monster future number 0 utopic future to destroy it wining him the ceremonial duel.

7:06 not true, in his first duel against Nistro and Dextra, astral was fighting dark mist in the key but Yuma still summoned utopia without astral’s prescence
Zexal and DM were my favorite because they had a great plot from start to finish, GX was just bland and tryhard, 5Ds was weirdly written but it was good, ArcV was promising but fell flat, and Vrains made me sleep. Zexal is about friendship and getting stronger, while the theme is the universe and aliens. DM, is about friendship, getting stronger and about Egyptian History. Both had multiple parts where you feel bad for the characters and the family moments like Joey/Serenity and Yuma/Kari makes you just happy. Both had a clear theme, great character developments and badass villains. They should have a movie with adult Yugi and Yuma teaming up against a villian and Astral and Yami coming back and forming Zexal 4. Then fusing Dark Magician and Utopia to create Black Hope Mage.
I know this is an old video, but I am a little disappointed you did not elaborate about Yuma being the original numbers' other half. Explaining that: When Astral fought Don Thousand ions ago, a part of Astral broke away (similar to how a part of Don Thousand broke away and infected Astral, creating Number 96 - Dark Mist. Which could still be absorbed, but for some reason Yuma's soul could not be re-absorbed back into Astral. maybe because it had found a corporeal body and lived too long as a separate being that it could no longer be reabsorbed and all? idk.) and travelled through space & time, until it found a place in Yuma serving as his burning fighting soul. And that it was THAT fact which made it possible for Yuma to Overlay his & Astral's spirits into ZEXAL. And of course that also gave him the ability to use Shining Draw AND make his own Number Monsters. =)
The shining Draw has also been shown to generate Zexal Sage cards as well (first shown with Zexal III)... and he has been shown on two occasions to preform a shining draw by himself without the Zexal power. Coincidentally (and perhaps somewhat ironically) both times were against elites from Astral world, where the shining draw originated from.
When on the duel with girag ray gave him rank up magic limited barian's force to rank up utopia to no# c 39 utopia ray v when on the duel against vector he rank up utopia to utopia ray victory when at astral world he rank down utopia to utopia roots when on the duel against Nash he summon utopia beyond.
The best protagonist I've seen so far. I like how at the beginning, he was very terrible at dueling. We get to see him struggle on performing and learning the basic concepts of the game like a setting a card or switching your monsters to defense position. And I love that! I love how he isn't surprisingly overpowered at the beginning, and I like how he constantly mess up. It makes the character so realistic and dynamic! Despite all the struggles and failures, he never gave up. Sure there were cases that he almost did, but that's what made him human. His conviction and his determination to keep on going despite losing a lot is what made me believe that Yuma is not only a good duelist, but a good character himself.
Yuma is so underrated. He is one of my more favorite ygo protagonists due to the fact that he grows so much over the course of the series, and he can actually lose a duel once in a while. (Call me crazy, but I would much rather have a protagonist that's not very good at the game and slowly gets better, than a prodigy who somehow wins every duel.)
No he sucks.he is the worst protagonist.he is a cry baby and needs astral to win.he is the worst duelist out of all of the protagonist.yuya, yuesei stomp him hard.no astral
Though don thousand is defeated as the gang and emperors returned to normal by the numeron code as his parents are on the adventures their son feels the flow when having fun of dueling all as well of his home dimension of heartland city since the number cards are obtained by astral yuma is having fun just as how yuto and yuya does.
This kid is a very similar to Yugi Muto, except his spirit companion gives him the super power to cheat in card games, and rip off dragon ball apparently
Grand Admiral Thrawn Grand Admiral Thrawn atem basically did the same thing with yugi. Except atem completely takes over, while Yuma & astral work together. Also if your talking “cheating” yugis heart of the cards draw is basically the same thing... I like them both but I personally like the character change and growth between astral/Yuma more. These 2 actually grow from disliking one another to being real partners. With yugi, even at the end it was hard to believe he was atems equal. atem always seemed to do most of the work.(yugi is the better duelist between him as Yuma)
@@Corvy952 every protagonist had the "this entire duel depends on me drawing the exact card(s) to win" moment in which they drew the card they needed. The difference in zexal is that they made it into a special ability.

Matt Shen Did he? I don't remember to be honest. I do remember he had created A card but that's it.
Yuma is my favourite but it's probably because zexel was my introduction to yugioh as a whole
Same
Mine too 😁
Me too. If it wasnt for Zexal, I wouldnt be typing this comment. But my favourite has got to be V, Kaito, IV, III and Astral then Yuma.
Yeah same. I'm glad i found it because yugioh really affected my current art style tbh
Wow! Another Main Character Episode!! I would definitely give the video a like for that! :P
Hey TGS Gamer I think I know why Yuma wears protective shoulder pad, because one thing I'm going to say is "This yugioh" what else?
Yeah, but you're forgetting one important thing: It's Yuma, and that alone is worth disliking the video out of spite for the worst protag in Yugioh history, with an attitude and demeanor that makes you want to "Gatto"-bashyourskullin.
Sam ur awesome but if get enough info do a video on mahad or Solomon Muto
SuperSparrow45 he's only 13 while the other 3 are older and more mature
This should have been episode 39
OMGGGGGG I LOVEEEEEE THISSSSS THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH TGS ANIME!!!
I watched this when I was younger and I’ve been looking for it ever since and I’ve finally found it
While at astral world on his duel with eliphis he summon rainbow kuriboh as a result to the forever zexal arc when the gang with the human emperors returned to normal by the numeron code by astral Rio suggest to yuma to wear the rainbow kuriboh cosplay when he loss the race to bronk.
I like the parallels with the other protagonists, I never notice that awesome!
The hair gets me😂 Imagine doing your hair like this every morning
6:09 his hair is so sharp that even a sword cant cut it
that moment when your hair is so spiky it can break a sword 6:14
He goes head to head with bronk to school but normally lost when the gang returned and the emperors human again by the numeron code by astral Rio suggest to yuma to wear the rainbow kuriboh cosplay during the forever zexal arc he and his colleagues came to astral's aid to save astral world from the new crisis feeling the flow to high five the sky.
That moment when yu gi oh author runs out of ideas so he gives the protagonist super saiyan transformations
Yuma , Legit , Is probably my favorite Yugioh Protagonist besides Jaden
"You won't be scared of alone astral cause we're feeling the flow ".
During the last ceremonial duel arc he summon future number 00 utopic future thus destroying the door of Destiny.
Y’all sleepin on Yuma. He is by far the most developed dullest in yugioh. And the most interesting dullest.
Maurice Pete not to be rude but I think you spelled duelist wrong.
@@bigfish5544 Kaiba? Wasted? Ignore all the filler and check out DSOD. Kaiba is a fucking king, bro
My all time favourite main character in Yu-GiOh. I really like the growth this character had, practically during the Astral World Arc. I wish Konami remembers his deck and buff them soon, I want more supports for Gagaga!!!
+Matt Shen _MORE!?!?!_ Utopia decks with their equips and stuff can already OTK and protect themselves.
VixXstazosJOB I don't want Utopia/ZW support though, I want Gagaga, Gogogo, Dododo and Zubaba supports.
Matt Shen Yuma is a garbage character from a horrible show that uses a trash deck with a crap story and almost all of the characters are just bad.
Oh I didn't know that your opinion is the same as everybody else :/
Matt Shen This comment section is full of Yuma supporters so clearly my opinion is not the same as every single person that has ever existed.😒
Yuma & Yusei are the only main yu-gi-oh characters who never had dark sides
Technically no he didn't so yeah good for Yuma
Yusei is the only one who didn't go dark
Yami Yugi went fuckin nuts after he lost yugi for a little while. I’d say he had a dark side.
Love zexal so damn much
does anyone else see what I see it's pretty obvious that he's a Super Saiyan I mean look at his hair two times it went golden and one time orange which is close to red so he pretty much with Super Saiyan God
I really like Yuma deck Becouse s made out of random card that reflects his character as a bad duellist
2:25 you see how we can see in the anime Yuma get in trouble very quickly and some time he get hurt so that why he is wearing those thing but is just a theory A YU GI OH THEORY
His parents arrived to astral world for a reason after their return his father gave good guidance to overcome the impossible odds.
I met Yuma through Duel Links and, with a voice like his; I was expecting to be either indifferent towards him or be outright annoyed by him... but then I heard him say something that made me respect his character... or, at least, his attitude.
I can't quote his line perfectly, but it was something along the lines of:
_"I'm not afraid of losing!
I like him. He’s relatable, because he’s the underdog, and he builds his skills from nothing, and goes from the bottom to the top.
Bro I remember watching this show. This is so nostalgic
His ace card of his xyz monsters Utopia and the upgraded forms and utopic future during the epic last duel when his friend obtained the numeron code.
2:26 The Elbow Pad is to protect him from the bumps he takes when he receives damage.
"Lets high five the sky".
He had a lot in common with his father since number card quest when joined at the Academy and world duel carnival champion alongside with his colleagues and astral he never gives up his colleagues cares that he will succeed the duels where his parents acquired the key is the connection he always believed in hope and feel the flow while merged with astral with the zexal power while he xyz summon utopic future to forfill his destiny when astral obtained the numeron code yuma is the greatest duelist of the future.
My favourite is Yugioh Zexal and Yuma is my favourite!!!!Once more THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH TGS ANIME
+Emina Saric Its Kewl!!
Jhope's engilsh time _ Yuma and Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal as a whole are pure unoriginal garbage.
@@TheDarkNeos I'll humor you, how do think Yuma is "unoriginal garbage"/
@@natexeon9957 Yuma is just a combination of the previous three protagonists. "No but he's an 'underdog'." Yeah if an underdog never loses 😞
@@TheDarkNeos I don't see how, he's lost a lot actually and is the only one who we see get progressively get better.
Real fact:
One could easily hate Xexal if one only judge the first episodes, is just a series that takes time set motion and get insanely good through the pass of time.
Wait a minute how does he have a duel gazer that is inspired by Utopia’s colors he had the gazer before he even saw utopia. That’s pretty convenient
Yugioh zexal is my favourite Yu-Gi-Oh season
I adore Yuma. He's honestly my favorite main protag! 💖
In my humble opinion, Yuma, Astral, Shark and Kite are the best Yu-Gi-Oh! team
Easily, what are the other trios gonna do to zexal 3 pist numeron code, Don thousand absorbed nasch, and kite with all is fanboys.
The greatest duelist as duel carnival champion himself of the xyz dimension.
Cool video i thoughy the orange cresents was flames on his pants. He have an elbow pad because every duel the Augmented reality is be flinging him all over the place! I was suprise he didn't break his neck yet
6:13. Now we know his hair is a weapon
Judiel Díaz prior to his first duel with Kite, security guards at a mall did say watch for his in the dubbed version
something else, tron did say yuma was the "black stallion" or horse (I forgot which) in the japanese version, I think that something you missed
dark horse
Dark horse means someone who you'd think would lose early on.
Love it Yuma is my favourite character because of how funny and happy he is
No in the episode where he duels Nistro and dextra he used utopia without astral
I believe that Yuma and the Zexal series we so under rated.
yuma is the best protagonist.cause he was an actual underdog
For those of you who are still confused about the Zexal Morph stuff, think of it like a Dragon Ball fusion, with I being Super Saiyan 1, II being SSJ2, and III being SSJ3. Fits too. Hair gets longer with each transformation.
Yuma: What you're seeing now is my normal state
4:30
Yuma: This is a ZEXAL
Yuma: And this...
4:41
Yuma:THIS is what is known as a ZEXAL that is ascended pass the ZEXAL, or you can call this a ZEXAL 2
Yuma: AND THIS...
Yuma: IS... TO GO.. EVEN FURTHER BEYOND..!
Yuma: HAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AHHHH HAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AAHH HAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
5:06
"Duel disk go duel gazer let's roll let's duel".
6:26 Isn't that the same background as the Field Spell "Gates to Darkworld"? albeit without Yuma?
Since Dr faker created heartland city for duelists to have fun with the schools of heartland academy and the spade branch for professional duelists until the invasion kicks in by duel academy until it was rebuilt when aster and the crew came to help the heartland people.
During his duel with orbital he summon 3 djinn xyz monsters.
my favorite of all the characters
7:06 not true, in his first duel against Nistro and Dextra, astral was fighting dark mist in the key but Yuma still summoned utopia without astral’s prescence
Yes, but he didn't have Astral guiding him.
Animations in Zexal>>>>>>Animations from ARC V on ward.
Jaden yuki has to be my fav
I love yuma! He's like a little brother too me. But he's my second favorite. My first is Kite tenjo!
Blackrose Revan Are you a kid or something?
Which is why this video as well as others should be remade.
Never knew that.
Was that a sub conversation?
@@47shadows76 In the dub's last episodes I recall Astral mentioning Yuma being his lost half. 🤔
You forgot to mention Number F0: Future Hope, that is Yuma's Number form, remember in the end of the series.
Yugi: Believe in the heart of the card
Jaden: Bubble man + Pot of greef
Yusei: Strenght of our bond
Yuma: Shining Draw
Fair Enough
4:31 he went super sayin
"His father took him camping to have a "man talk""
I don't know why, but they way you said that sounded wrong.
"This is for astral" .
6:12 is he blocking a sword with his hair?
anyone else see the ad for Yugioh app , I'd like to duel in a park , but im afraid it would rain or there'd be no one else to play
I just loved this series the most out of yugioh franchise. We really see the moral support his friends give him and how that affects him.
Yuma is my favorite protagonist in the yugioh series
Yuma is so underrated. He is one of my more favorite ygo protagonists due to the fact that he grows so much over the course of the series, and he can actually lose a duel once in a while. (Call me crazy, but I would much rather have a protagonist that's not very good at the game and slowly gets better, than a prodigy who somehow wins every duel.)
I couldn't agree with you more dude.
No he sucks.he is the worst protagonist.he is a cry baby and needs astral to win.he is the worst duelist out of all of the protagonist.yuya, yuesei stomp him hard.no astral
+brandon williams Thanks, and speaking of Zexal, isn't that Alito in your profile pic?
+Joe Chapman And Yeah, when Atem come out to take Yugi's place in a duel is not considered helping?
***** Yeah, he's also one of my favorite characters in the series as well.
Yugioh Zexal most likely happens before 5D's and after GX. It makes sense considering there is no sign of Synchro Summoning.
This guy just has to be a descendent of Yusei.
I mean honestly look at that hair
Though don thousand is defeated as the gang and emperors returned to normal by the numeron code as his parents are on the adventures their son feels the flow when having fun of dueling all as well of his home dimension of heartland city since the number cards are obtained by astral yuma is having fun just as how yuto and yuya does.
Yuma is the 2nd for me, I like Yusei more 😜
i like yuya and yusei more then yuma :)
me too
The top duel champion of hope himself.
This kid is a very similar to Yugi Muto, except his spirit companion gives him the super power to cheat in card games, and rip off dragon ball apparently
Grand Admiral Thrawn but with Yugi he never really dueled and let Atem duel for him. I think both have their flaws buddy.
Bro YUGIOH and dragon are COMPLETELY different show
Dragons balls has a stupid and complex ass story
YUGIOH has a simple and understanding story
@@Corvy952 every protagonist had the "this entire duel depends on me drawing the exact card(s) to win" moment in which they drew the card they needed. The difference in zexal is that they made it into a special ability.
Dragon ball isn’t complex, they just fight bad guys lol
Both yuma and Yugi have a lot in common
They both have partnersbin there precious items they needed to protect both their aces in the last episode have 0 atk and df points not to mention they also played their favorite card same goes for astral and atem we're both of them needed powerful cards to find out the truth of their past anyway my point is yuma is like the modern version of yugi
I gotta admit I relate to Yuma, I use to be a complete amateur at playing Yugioh and other things like drawing and etc. But Know I gotta say I gotten alot beter at playing the game and most other things And know im making my own manga and story and I know what I want in my life.
