      Absolutely. Astral was always cautious, and only started taking more risks because of his friendship with Yuma. However, he it's not in his nature to go balls-to-the-wall like Yuma, so he'll never be as completely reckless as the kid.

      It's even better. Cause if you watch human's first ever duel against shark. You'll see that Astral was telling Yuma to not attack with utopia but Yuma did it anyway and then surprised astral with double or nothing. Which was the only time astral early on astral was surprised by yuma's play

      I didn’t like it as much as the double or nothing play on don thousand because that really felt full circle and it was such an epic scene when he activated the double or nothing and deleted don thousand,, it just feels a little more cheap when you see that awesome scene, and then 5 episodes later they use it again. I liked it on don thousand a lot better it was just set up better and then to see utopia boot up to 202,000 atk points was the cherry on top

  • @dranzergigs66
    @dranzergigs66 2 года назад +385

    I always loved that Astral misplayed Utopia's effect because throughout the series he was always overly cautious. The best example of this is when Astral dueled Kite inside the key and was too scared to summon Utopia in case kite was ready for it. Astral lost due to a flaw he showed throughout the show and was a core reason he needed someone like Yuma to be his partner.

When Eliphas allows them to leave the Astral World, Astral says they'll find their way through the future, as if he didn't want to destroy the Barian World anymore. But the moment he got the code, he almost turned psycho and came back to his arrogant behavior, almost close to corrupted astral from episode 97-98, just not corrupted but perfectly conscious. As we know, Numbers corrupt people and only Yuma and Astral (along with Kaito's special power and Shark, probably cause he's a Barian or because of some protagonist bullshit -affectionate-) can manipulate them without being possessed. But considering the numeron code is revealed when all the numbers are gathered and so surely has the power of all numbers combined, there's a possibility Astral got manipulated by the code at that right moment where he said he'd use it to destroy the barian world. I think the Numbers work under a model similar to Schroeder’s Cat, in that all the Numbers are both there and not there when the Extra Deck is not being actively observed, but their presence is made definitive when they are observed.
    While the Extra Deck box is not being observed and is closed, the only information that can be observed with certainty is the number of cards inside and whether or not some of them are not Numbers. We know this because Yuma does have non-Number Monsters when he duels with Astral and there presence of Numbers is dependent on Astral. However, since we can’t see the contents of the box while it is closed, we can’t know for certain which Numbers are present. The Number Cards are in flux during this time.
    When the deck box is opened, the Numbers become a definitive state, and the Numbers the duelists specifically wants to use become the Numbers in the box. For example, say Yuma builds his Extra Deck with 9 non-Number Monsters. That leaves 6 vacant spots for Numbers when Astral is dueling with Yuma. Should Yuma enter a duel and decide to access his Extra Deck, those vacant spots would be filled with Numbers that he would want to use, like Utopia and it’s alternate forms.

    Yuma could have waited until after summoning cowboy and samurai to activate xyz treasure, and would've drawn two more cards. Now it's tricky to know what they would have been because the next time he drew it was a shining draw and we don't know if that changes the next card *to* the shining draw or if it materializes at the top of your deck. Either way having two extra cards is massive in yugioh

    For the last 5 slots, I'd probably have gone with Chronomaly atlandis, Heraldry crest, Giant Grinder, Dyson Sphere, and crystalzero.
    Save for force focus, Astral seemed to use numbers that would remind yuma of the fun times they had and of their friendships. With this deck, Astral would have one number from every sub-hundred number user that helped them along the journey: Shark, Kite, Vector/tron, the heraldry brothers, and Rio (who I don't think ever actually used crystalzero, but it was born from her original death so I'm counting it)

    • @sirkittens5445
      @sirkittens5445 2 года назад

      I'd have to disagree on heraldry crest. It's one of the numbers that's repeatedly shown to be "evil", in that every time it's been used in the show, it was either by Vetrix when he was still evil, or by Vector stealing it from Yuma's extra deck. Plus the fact that it's number 69, which is clearly a reference to the other "evil" number, number 96. And because in the anime Vector said he needed to gather enough hatred from Shark, Kite, and Yuma to play it. Also, Yuma and Astral never actually saw help from Vector, he was always doing it from the sidelines and in the background. I'd say it's more likely he'd add in something like Lion Heart, since Alito loves dueling to the degree that Yuma does.

    Man this is a great series. I hope TGS doesn't run out of duels soon... though thankfully, after some thought about some duels I'd like to see, I think there's a plentiful amount of DNF duels, close duels, big important duels or even just duels with big misplays to analyse.
    Speaking of which, I came up with a few too many to want to list in one comment, but I'd like to see a WRGP duel analysed, like Team Unicorn or Team Ragnarok (Unicorn had the whole crash to take into consideration and whether stopping that would have affected anything, while Ragnarok had really close duels that could have changed things if just one outcome was different). I loved that concept of three on three group baton duels, though I understand if analysing three duels in one video is a bit much. Yusei vs Harald would be a good single duel from them to analyse if so, due to Harald making a big misplay that lead to a big debate over whether it was an in-character mess up or him dropping the idiot ball.
    Also Leo vs Devack. Even though Luna technically came in and finished the duel with Leo's deck, Leo did an outstanding job taking on a dark signer by himself. But I do wonder if he could have beaten Devack by himself or if Devack was holding back because he didn't see Leo as much of a threat.
    And then there's, like, two or three others, but I don't wan this to be just big a list of duels I want to see.

    I love this duel and the ending 2 seasons of Zexal. Not as good as 5Ds for me but still a great series! Also love these duel vids! They are very rewatchable and really brighten up my day! I really was glad to see this after a rough week.

    Imagine how awkward it would be if Yuma summoned a Level 3 Monster on his first turn.
    *Yuma:* I summon my Level 3 Monster and set 3.
    *Astral:* I set 5 and end my turn.
    *Yuma:* I attack with my Monster and end my turn.
    *Astral:* I draw and end my turn.
    *Yuma:* I attack again with my Monster and end my turn.
    *Astral:* I draw and end my turn.
    *Yuma:* . . . You bricked, right?
    *Astral:* I really need you to summon a level 4 Monster...

    I just got done watching Zexal a few days ago and was excited to finally get to watch this video spoiler free. I love the ceremonial duels especially. I'd like to request every duel of Yuma vs Shark. I love the covering of matches when it's the main protagonist facing off against one of their main rivals that they end up fighting again and again because it's also interesting to see how the duels change over time

    "I think it makes sense Astral would set a limit on himself"
    Let me stop you right there: no it doesn't. More specifically, it doesn't make sense he would choose THAT restriction. He probably has all of the numbers, he just chooses not to use them. He uses sentimental cards because he wants to. Just because he only uses them doesn't mean he only can use them.

      But it actually does though. Astral help Yuma remember what he lost during this entire ordeal: Having while dueling. That was his first priority. Winning was second. That's why when he summoned Utopia, Roots he specifically attached shark Drake and Galaxy Eyes prime Photon Dragon. Yuma had to deal with stress and the death of his many friends and comrades. He even admitted in the final Duel versus Shark/Nasch that he lost something because pretty much every duel he has been fighting with his life on the line and not really having fun.

    Man this was an awesome episode. Please keep up the good work. If you looking for another duel, I'd recommend Yusi vs Armstrong. Bad deck vs a really bad deck with alot of misplays. Fun to watch though

  • @shadowwalker118
    @shadowwalker118 2 года назад +3

    I dont believe Astral misplayed at all. The issue that Astral has always had in the series was that he almost always played not to lose and never really to win. Unlike Yuma who always played to win even if his odds are as good as winning the lottery. Thats why they made a good team, balancing each other out.

      It's a curious question cause he suggest that he would be able to summon Flame Wingman but I believe in the sub versión Misawa says that FW can only be fusión summon like the TCG/OCG card so Jaden couldn't make that play

    Shining and Zexal draws wer so dope and yet completely hilarious at the same time. Like, with shining draw, you just draw whatever card you want out of all the cards already in your deck once per duel at any point. Then there's Zexal, whatever card you pull literally is one of a kind and did not exist until 3 seconds ago and does exactly what you need.
