      @@EDifyer881 if only that were true, but it isn't. She only served 2 years, and then "In 1999 Michele won clemency and had her 17 year sentence commuted to probation." For murder!

      @maricamaas2326 5 месяцев назад

      To leave /seperate at least for a (limited) period is advised; for both protection and shock value. If it was a first time - when under influence for example; it's not to say it will happen again. After experiencing the tragic outcome of his/her drinking, the person could choose to sober up, leave the drinking and return to being someone who is not violent at all. Had witnessed this happening in real life.

    Like mother like daughter. There are many graves that hold those who were murdered by their wife, husband, significant other. It's generational if one doesn't get the mental help that they need in order to break the mold. Seventeen years is nothing. The rich always have a better time when it comes to doing time while the poor have to rot in prison. A friend once told me that "Money talks and bullshit walks." (excuse my French)

    This is a great movie and well portrayed. There are people who are diabolical by nature and can commit crimes without feeling any remorse, just plain evil. It’s surprising to me that Carolyn Blair along with her parents and brother were not given even harsher sentences. Anyone who disagreed with Carolyn would have experienced the same fate. When her mother struck the father shortly after having met the family, Tim was appalled by such behavior and should have called it quits then. There’s a lesson to be learned here-Everything that looks good might not be good for you!

    Picture 71.pngTHE TRUTH: David Richmond of Oviedo, Florida, was the real body rolled in that carpet back in 1992. The TV movie was correct on some facts, and way off base on others. Michele Roger was the object of David's affection, and while the pair lived together, they were never formally engaged. Michele was not a Yuppie entrepreneur; she worked as a topless dancer, which was a bone of contention between her and David. There is no question that Michele used to slap David around (many of his co-workers testified about his black eyes and broken ribs), but Michele's attorney stated that she only struck out in self-defense. Her family did assist in disposing of David's body (in a far more gruesome way than alluded to in the film), and Michele was ultimately found guilty of second degree murder and was sentenced to 17 years in prison. She was granted clemency in 1999 by an outgoing governor on the grounds that she had been a battered woman.

      Why wasn't a deep sea diver sent down .. to TRY and find his body,, and give him a regular, decent burial ?? (After all, he was lowered down in a white zippered body bag. It should have been EASY for a skilled diver to spot; and a good boat to RETRIEVE; he might've then been given a DECENT, NORMAL
      Funeral and burial. THIS was an 'unacceptable' ENDING. It's like one throws away .. GARBAGE !

    This is a fairly good movie, based on a real murder, but only just. There is so much emphasis in this movie about wealth and upward mobility of the girl and her family. In the actual murder, the female killer wasn't a real estate agent from a wealthy family. She was a stripper. I was just reading a newspaper article about the trial, and it sure comes off a lot different than the way the antagonist and her family play in this movie!

    It actually took place in Florida. The real murderer received clemency from the Florida governor in 1999, after four years in prison. Perfect example of the children paying for the sins of their parents. That’s not to say that the children will be punished for what their parents did. What the Bible is saying is that the kids will follow the examples of their parents and do likewise. They were brought up thinking that was right. A child growing up in an abusive household will probably grow up to be a wife beater. There is always the chance he won’t but the child will need to work hard to break the cycle.

    One thing that puzzles me. Just about every film includes ACTORS SPEAKING WITH FOOD IN THEIR MOUTHS! There is ALWAYS a kitchen, dining room, or restaurant - no other rooms in their homes EXCEPT a kitchen! So in real life, all we do is eat?
    I cannot figure out why the writers cannot think of other scenarios to capture on film besides food/eating scenes. I always fast-forward thru those scenes because some actors are absolutely, totally, and unequivocally, obnoxious trying to mouth their story lines with a mouth full of food! Check it out the next time you watch a movie, keep tabs on the food/eating going on!
    The writers make it seem as though there's NOTHING to do in life except for eating. They also think the average home has ONLY two rooms: a kitchen and a dining room! For fun, all we do is eat at restaurants, diners, carnivals, weddings - nothing else in life to do but eat...right? This has to tick off the audience that's dieting!

    I always liked Patty Duke. Interesting subject matter. Many years ago I came very close to hitting a co-worker who had been pushing my buttons for months, but had the good sense not to do it. I think that if you have regular arguments with someone, and these fights escalate each time, sooner or later they might just lead to violence. In my case this was a one time urge.
