Dude, you just saved my ass. I've been messing with the sensitivity so much and haven't been able to dial it in. Had no idea it was the thumb screw lol. You have to have the clutch key loose as well as the wing nut (at least I did) and now it's calibrated perfectly. Thanks dude!
Worked a treat! Also to note - if you've reassembled the top cymbal, you may want to look at the manual; the clutch appears to be quite a sensitive bit of kit! Thanks you so much for sharing this! Should be a link to this video in the manual aha
Man thank you so much! ❤ this was the one trick I needed, it's finally closing again, was getting a bit frustrated I could only play with open hi-hats on the acoustic kit at my lessons😛I tried to get it right several times before, but for some reason, the official manual and a lot of internet resources made it seem so complicated and actually misguided me. Especially the "2 - 3 mm" part which is impossible to measure and to get right.
Nice tutorial thank you! I'm trying to calibrate a Jobeky VH11 controller with Jobeky 2 pieces 14" cymbals on a TD 17KV module. I can't figure out why when I put the top cymbal on the controller seems is not "heavy" enough to get to the bottom where should go to be on fully closed position and get aligned with arrows on the drum module and then do the adjustments from there. Seems I can only do that pushing it down with one hand, all of this is utterly bizarre and I was wondering if you ever had similar issues. Many thanks in advance. Sam.
Found the below in a forum post on the FD-9. The calibration seems to be a bit different for that pedal. Try 3 tests: 1 - Turn off the module. Disconnect the FD-9. Turn on the Module. Connect the FD-9 This will calibrate the HH-Pedal with infinite resistance. How is the performance? 2 - Turn off the module. Turn on the Module. This will calibrate the HH-Pedal with the Open resistance value How is the performance? 3 - Turn off the module. gently rest your foot on the FD-9 in relaxed Closed position. Turn on the Module This will calibrate the HH-Pedal with the Half Open resistance value How is the performance?
Hope this helps, since it's very hard to say anything without being able to look at your gear :) but anyway: All mechanic parts are able to move around freely and the calibration line doesn't move at all? (it's normal if it moves very subtly after minor wheel rotations) In that case I'd say it could be an issue with the registration of movement somehow, either in the sensor components or in a part of the cable (I've seen people encountering both on the internet)

Excellent tutorial! Quick and to the point. My hi hat was never fully sounding “closed”. This fixed it immediately! Thanks!

Thanks man. Now I can actually use the closed and tight articulations correctly.
had my TD27 for a week and for the life of me could NOT figure out the HH. having it all loose was the key. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I just feel like you fixed my whole musical Universe. Very helpful and pretty straight forward. Thanks

very helpful, thanks much, helped me dial in the vh-11, didnt even know this calibration functionality existed.
Thanks a lot. I was having issues with latency for opening and closing the hi-hat after this vid the hi-hat reacts incredible.
Dude, this was very insightful! Thank you for the tip.
Thanks dude. How do you make the hihat stop rotating?
Awesome ... thanks bud !
Nice tutorial thank you!

Sam.
They do tell you in the manual, I have the vh11,
Can you show us how to put 1 sound on the head of the drum and a different sound on the rim please
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally i can play without that horrible double hi hat sound!
Well done, a problem solved...
Is this calibration needed with the Roland Cy-5 hihat and Roland FD-9 hihat controller?

Thank you!
It’s helpful!! Thanks !
Super helpful
I think I got it!! Thank you!!
Très bien mais je ne vois pas la position des pieds, ni comment installer le VH11
I’m using TD-17 module and the meter starts all way up. Even spinning that part It can’t reach the correct level.
How do I recalibrate the vh11
Helpful but what IF the calibration line doesn’t move when turning that wheel?? 🤔
having the same problem. did you fix it evetntually?

My hi hat doesn’t have a calibration arrow thing
Fuckin legend dude!
Mines thread are loose
My hi hat does not produce sound
A real pain in the ass. My hi hat has been a royal pain to get good sound from it.
Thanks man!
