A personal note: When I taught a drawing class at a university, I played Brian Eno's "Prophecy Theme" from the first "Dune" movie for my students and asked them to interpret it in a drawing. Episode 4 was one of the best tie-them-all crafted narrative I've seen incl the movie adaptations. In one episode it tagged characters from Frank Herbert's books, that I read over 40 years ago, to his son Brian Herbert's books current storyline. Basically, my take is: Leto Atreides is the terror from the future time and mind, traveling 10k years before to get back at the Spice Girls Sisterhood. His physical vessel to do this could be none other than a cloned version of the first Atreides who is now possessed by his descendant Leto Atreides from the future. Brillian concept, if they can spice up to fold space and travel, then why not use spice to fold time itself and go 10k years into the past? Brilliant episode.
The Bene Gesseret Sisterhood is based on murder and a psychopath sister (Valya) warping her sister! Ep 4 was a triumph! The actress playing Lila is unreal! So perfect for the Dune Universe. I can't help but see Desmond as the Raised by Wolves guy. Its pretty much the exact character
Thank you for every week for pointing out that I have missed clues, and did not correctly connected all the dots. :) the day after I have seen the the series I start waiting for you for episode.
This and the other theory that the eyes are AI because whenever we see them, there is mechanical noise heard......which could be a red herring by the writers.
I don't think Valya is supposed to be a good person or a hero. If you think that, you're missing the point. I haven't read the books, but from what I've gathered, Dune is not a story about "good" people or heroes. It's a story about how people in power manipulate to stay there or how charismatic characters manipulate people to get into power. It's absolutely thrilling scifi in my opinion and I'm excited to watch the story unfold. I hope we get more from the Dune universe.
I'd like to know how Desmond could kill 5 people in the same room and it take such a toll on him, but kill someone who was on another planet and it barely effect him.
I bet on accomplice at the Sisterhood. Notice how Valya interrogated him, he mocked death of Kasha but never confessed to it as he explicitly did about young Pruwet. By crafting words he was avoiding being cought lying and exposing possible spies at Sisterhood
Whoa whoa wait a minute, how come you didn't mention the robotic sound when Desmond entered the focus state at the end ? And the same sound at the end of the episode???? I figured there was an AI machine inside that worm on Arakis that had a ploy, it's the worm that gobbles the sisterhood temple in the vision
I think valya also wants harkonnen to yearn for power like she does which is why she was resisted giving them a truthsayer and allowed the nephew to build up a lust for power, to be recognized, ect
I am enjoying the show, the acting is brilliant the location sets are great, and the music is wonderful, and the intrigue is interesting... But I truly have no idea what the hell I'm watching 😂😂
he mentions to the princess that his father was the sole survivor of a tragedy (i’m paraphrasing, but it is definitely implied that he is the son of the boy that was spared by Tula)
i’m listening to the official Dune Prophecy companion podcast and the actor that plays Kieran just confirmed he is in the son of that boy who survived Tula’s Atriedes massacre
IMO, the Empress seeks vengeance on Constantine's mamma. She is running this train. Jodhi May's portrayal has this puzzling look of horror mixed with sadism every time Desmond displays or mentions his power. Especially, every time he speaks of his distrust and disdain of the Sisterhood. That's her endgame. It's likely that train will run her over. What I like best are the subtle performances that indicate something more. I was surprised when Desmond correctly guessed it was the Empress that started the rumors. Remembering that look, it shouldn't have.
Nano bots in Desmonts blood, plus a hidding thinking machine inside that worm on Arrakis. Listen closely to the audio at the end of his "focus" trance state and at the end inside the hidden chambers of the temple of the sisterhood. It very comanding and robotic sounding.
I hate these tiny 6 episode seasons that are now common place, especially this great show that has unlimited material and an HBO budget. If 6:44 they're gonna be so short they should drop all 6 at once. At least the episodes are a decent length unlike Disney's typical 28 minute garbage
