Just installed mines. SUPER EASY!! When I opened the box, I was shocked at the low number of parts (12 screws and 2 tubes) compared to more aftermarket ones. Took me maybe 15 minutes! I was surprised how just how light they are too given how they look.
Went to a mechanic shop in NC asked the mechanic how much to install the bars on my tacoma he quoted me $75.00 dollars, went to auto parts bought a ratchet and socket and installed it myself, very simple 4 bolts per side.
Just got a 2022 Tacoma with these sliders. Two days later we went off roading and the steps are gone! Made it two miles on an off road trail and they were busted. Took them to a welding shop and had the steps cut off and then hit the rest with bed liner .. looks pretty good now. Who's idea to install steps on a machine that does off road trails?
Bummer! Jason Demello with Demello Off-road is a high school buddy of mine. He started his company based on his love for Tacoma’s, which began with the one I had back in high school. Those tube steps are definitely for urban speed bump crawling, but Demello makes some legit sliders to check out.
Good video. I watched because I’m selling the ones that came on my truck and wanted an idea of how they get installed so I can uninstall them properly. I find the steps stick out too far and knock my shins every time I need to get close to my truck such as to strap a kid into the back seat. Going to replace with some lower profile rock sliders.
I am trying to find some value in these other than the looks. I guess if I am going to haul the lollipop kids, they will come in handy!! But seriously, I would put some on mine in the future.
Honestly, for me…they are just for looks. They look cool. When jumping in, I typically bypass them altogether and jump right in without stepping on them. More than 3 years later, they faded ever so slightly but zero issues otherwise.
Good vid. By chance can you tell me how long those measure like from end to end? I want these for a different vehicle but I need to make sure they will fit first. TIA
@@AdventureStop Dang. This is the only style of running boards I like, and I'm trying to do a custom install on my Honda Pilot. The Pilot can only fit 70", maybe 72" bars. They don't make predator steps for the Pilot, ugh.
The washers are attached to the factory bolts in the supplied bag and cannot be removed. They’ve made it so simple that anyone can do it, and save a ton versus the dealer doing it for you. 😁👍🏻
The bracket for the front section has the 2 slots.....put the bracket on and only able to attach with 1 bolt..... no obvious hole or indentation for a second bolt. No plug to remove.
I waited for a “Black Friday” special from my local dealer. I ordered them online, then picked it up from the dealer. IMO, waiting for Black Friday will get you the best price on this original Toyota part! 😃
Don't take your truck 4 wheeling with these garbage things, you will break the steps off when you get hung up on a root or rock, it's very easy to do, I know first hand!
@@AdventureStop ahh thanks much. I just picked up 2021 Tacoma and looking to add the predator on mine! Not sure if the 2020 predator will fit 2021. Do you know?
@@AdventureStop I just got this 2013 toyota Tacoma extended cab but I’m not sure how to find the right part for it lol because I’m not sure if it’s a pre-runner or a base? I’m new to all this 😅
Yes. The 2021 body style hasn’t changed yet, so it will be the same part number as in the video. The Sport/Off-Road/Pro are all the same. Thanks for watching! 😁👍🏻
@@AdventureStop okay thanks. I know they do at dealership. I bought mine used and put them on at meetup and was worried I needed to torque but didn’t want to strip
@@grumpylicous lol I was just going to mention I had a rotation done at the dealer last week, and my right rear lug nuts sure had a lot of room left to spin until they clicked to spec. 😲 So I’m not all trusting of the dealers! 🙄🤔
Hey by any chance, does any one know if these steps fit on an 05 Tacoma double cab. Are they all the same length or no? I know they are advertised for certain gens.
Rumeel12708 I don’t think so with this OEM style from Toyota. You can pick up another similar aftermarket brand that might have universal mounting brackets. Sorry!
mauricio nieves I waited for Black Friday in November and bought it at my local Toyota Dealership and it was 20% off. Any dealership can get them, but they run around $500 I think.

Jon Sepueda Awesome! Thanks for watching and enjoy your new steps! 😃
How do you keep them from not getting faded?
Ty you help my husband a lot, he just finished installing the step bars. Easy peasy!
Glad it worked out! Thanks for watching! 😁
Thank you for this video. You just saved me a $260 install fee from Toyota.
Stealership wanted that much to install? Figures they really rip people off ... no more than a 20-30 min job and that's if you take your time
@@TADDs101 exactly. Stearlership haha
I was just told $1,219 for steps and install… I was like let me do some YouTubing
Wtf!! Why would you even consider having someone else do it specially the dealer rip offs

I got these on my truck glad that it came with it.

@Leah Lanier you got a Tacoma too?
Super easy and straight to the point. Thanks for showing how Barney stupid easy this is.

So who looked just to find where to mount it?
Great info for the less informed too
I have the same ones broke on my second run looks nice though
Oooh bummer! They look good, but not for the trails!
Thanks for the video just installed mine today!
Where did you purchase them from
I have the same exact one but mine was stinking out a little farther. I hate the way it looks. Couldn't figure out why
Perfect, thank you.

Only one bolt hole for front of truck.....middle and rear have 2 per section.

Mine is 100% stock with all OEM parts including the grille. Thanks for watching!
@@AdventureStop thanks for the response man! Nice color I’ll have my cement OR in the fall. Sucks I have to wait so long due to the chip shortage.
What torque did you tighten the bolts to?
I didn’t. I did it hand-tight…and I’d estimate it’s probably around 50 ft lbs.
I brought running boards on market place but doesn’t come with bolts man can u tell me what size or how can I get the bolts please. Thanks !

I’m not sure, but I’m doubtful they do. My dealer can’t even get my tire pressure correct. 🤣🤨🫣
Would this fit on a 2013 toyota Tacoma? Extended cab?
