You're doing a nice build there. I'm sorry you won't be doing an electric conversion but thrilled for you that it's not necessary. I bought the ALX specifically to add to my stable of e-bikes. So far my only mod so far has been running lights but I already had a ThudBuster LT on my mtb (bought a 27.2 seat post so it would fit most bikes) and only need the right size adapter to fit it on the ALX as well. I used to ride regularly but the hill I live on kept getting bigger each year until I needed electric assistance to get my bike out of my immediate neighborhood and back home. Now I'm thinking I'll do upgrades but other than the lack of motor (more my problem than the bike's) it's ok in stock form.
@@skullparty7638 Not a clue. Just stands to reason that a thin hollow tube of metal is lighter than a larger metal housing around mechanisms & air or oil.
Wait till you see the new wheels & tires I got for the DBX-07... ProLine Badlands same height but almost twice as wide with chunky knobbies. Should do much better in the snow. I'm going to start on that video(s) tonight or tomorrow.
I'm 6'2 and the size large fits me well. I had to buy a much larger seat post though (I have a long legs). I left the long stem on and put 800mm riser bars on it. I highly recommend getting one! I bought it as a cheap winter thrill, but I end up riding it more than my carbon full sus trail bike year round. It is super fun on techy rocky trails.
Post up a review of the fork after you get some usage. I've heard a mixed bag on their performance/reliability. I know you can't expect too much from a $120 fork, but still would be interesting to know how it pans out over time.
.nice setup......you can also consider to get a loop handlebar that has a back-sweep for a more upright position.....btw, where did you get your suspension seatpost?
Hi, sorry for the late reply... my wife and I got really sick and it was tough to shake. Below are links to the fork and the headset. It was an Amazon or eBay find. No make or model. It was 99.9% likely made in China and won’t be available exactly the same again. Sorry… I didn’t make the world! I just live in it. The link was good while they had stock. Yet another thing I have zero control over! If you search like I did, you can probably find a similar fork. Unfortunately the fat tire craze seems to be loosing steam and less and less manufacturers are making equipment for it. It’s too bad... I like them.

Thanks for watching! I may do the electric conversion at some point... I had to divert funds so it's going to have to wait a bit. Have fun riding!
I put a bbshd on a mongoose malus and I'm about to upgrade the front forks. I wonder if the aftermarket forks will be lighter then stock.
@@skullparty7638 Since stock is rigid I'm not sure you can get lighter with a suspension fork.
@@michaelsprinzeles4022 Do you happen to know what the stock ones weigh? The forks i ordered for my malus are 6 pounds i think

Why am I not surprised that you modded this, lol. Enjoy your new bike. 👍👍
It's only just begun!!! 😁😁🚴🚴♂🚴♀😁😁

Do you have any videos of riding it? I’m 6’3 and trying to figure out if it’s big enough for me. I’m gonna buy the large frame.

Can you link all the parts? Sealed bearings especially.
Great video!! I have the same bike.

Nice build. Any information or links on the headset and fork? I'm building my ALX out as well and am considering the fork upgrade. Thanks.

what size thudbuster will fit?
You spoke a lot but didn't supply the make or the model of the fork. The link you provided is also dead.
