Thanks to Marisa for taking part! Marisa told us that she hopes this interview and her experience will help others, especially women born into the criminal world.
These people you have on your channel. How vetted and investigated are they.. you do Collaberate their stories ?? So u know these aren't just stories??
how about getting someone else to do the interviews?

Poor little
it's so crazy to me to think that someone has lived long enough to be a mobster, create a drug empire, go to prison for years and still be able to become a chef

Life is truly stranger than art. If I saw a movie about an 86 year old mafia mastermind grandma who’s too dangerous to be taken off house arrest I’d find it far-fetched!

This family ruined so many lives. People died. Kids were ruined. No excuses.
I understand and you so are right that people are so lucky not to understand
This is a truly fascinating interview. Marisa is intelligent, well spoken and have a message that's important.
*You've outdone yourselves again, LADbible!*
She's a former gangster. How the hell do you begin to praise her? Women☕️

The grandmother on house assrest couldn't move bc of health problems and police were still terrified
This woman is chatting out her arse. They’d never put an elderly woman on house arrest just limit her contacts. It goes against the law and common sense
@@acenmitch1048 Yeah they did, trust me
tbh I would. If you lived for so long who knows?!
Boobies traps, shooting a gun, people working for you etc doesn't require you to move.
Amazing that her dad is still alive. The way she spoke throughout the interview, I assumed he had passed away.
It's honestly amazing she's still alive, these guys can and will find you if you break omerta.

It really does take all sorts . I really appreciate these brilliant stories and seeing the world through other people's views
this just shows that no matter how glamorous it may look, it will always end with prison or murder. how do you go from earning millions per month to eating prison beans.

I'd rather be broke & content than eat those prison beans, seeing all that money go down the shitter would he heartbreaking aswell lol.!

just witnessing mafia sht as a kid was enough for me to never get involved in any of it, or gangs or dealing.
@@R-BURQUENO I never said it was an excuse , just making the point that this level of involvement you pretty much have to be born into it
Michael Franzese talks about all of this in great detail.
This was a very impactful account, by Marissa. The fact she changed her life around, despite all the odds being against her is something more people need to hear. It is possible to reinvent yourself and still be the same person, whilst understanding that there’s right and wrong.
I totally understood the points she raised as things being ‘normal’ to her. She was a child, she grew up in that environment, she had to learn to see from a different perspective. I admire that in a person. Well done Marissa and thank you for sharing your story xxx
Shes a real one. Strong, independent woman. Very very head strong to have this life and sit there and talk about it open and honestly.

Yes that channel is getting better actors as it grow.

Nothing is real nowadays specially here.
But just like tv,,,remember when their reality shows came on and these "live"interviews.
They cannot take the risk to be real in front of millions watching.
In case of doing wrong then the station could be sued or loose their license.
But on youtube its different its about how many views
and trust me here buddy none of these people who lived nightmares mentioned here would go on youtube to speak about it through a wannabe big channel.
The worst they would get their own channels or even write a book about it.

Panini stickers were a big thing back in the day.
Loved her input in the Myra Hindley and Rose West doc with Trevor Macdonald. Very intelligent woman, fascinating story
That's where I have seen here before! I remember now If she was in the papers when all this was going on i was only 3 in 94 haha.
Honestly never knew 'Ndrangheta were active in the UK. It takes balls to speak about this life because she's basically dead woman walking, I really hope she stays safe and has a happy life, she's a good egg. Just a woman who wanted her dad back. Also the way her voice quietened when she started discussing the drugs shipments, habit I guess!
Also surprised people are saying "this video shows it's not glamerous and you're fucked if you do this" - as an Italian from Rome I think TV shows have done that well enough. It's an oath for life there is no out you got a target on your back for your whole life and are forced into crime, it's not worth it.

Feel like these comments are so laden with sexism - women are held to a way higher standard if they do wrong
It's true in some cases, but there are also comments on how uneven sentences are, and those I agree with.
There's nothing glamorous about crime, ignore the images that people try and show you what it's like as that's all smoke and mirrors. The reality is you end up curtain twitching and constantly waiting for your front door to go through. There's no price now in my life that I would sell my peace of mind for.
She was a BUSINESSWOMAN, and her business was CRIME.
What a great way to quote Bobby.
I hope your not a teacher whose buisness is teaching correct usage of capital letters.
@theodoremason6344 The irony.
She feels guilty for facilitating drug use. I wonder how many supermarket CEO's feel guilty of alcohol misuse and family breakdowns.
It's legal to sell alcohol so I don't think any supermarket CEO feels any guilt and why should they?
@@Marcel-Marcel because it causes more misery, violence and is such a burden on the NHS than any illegal drugs in this country
@@Marcel-Marcel Ah, just because something is legal does not state "okay". Online gambling, one can get rid of all their possessions, family home and children's assets in 24hrs. Perfectly legal?

You're absolutely right.... good afternoon how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a lovely day that the lord has made
When she talks about longing to be with her aunties, uncles and cousins, I felt that. My husband is from a super small immediate family with no cousins and one auntie. I am from a large immediate family, my mom was one of 8 and my dad was one of 3. My dad was married 3 times and I am the second youngest of his 11 children (6 bio, 5 step children)
I absolutely love being with my cousins and aunties and uncles, and my nieces and nephews.
This is excellent insight. In Australia we have a huge Calabrian mafia presence, their extremely secretive in their ways.

The human race is paying a high price for all the misery drug addiction is causing us.
thats mainly because of the war against drugs, but law enforcement will never admit this because they dont want to lose their job. Alcohol is the proof.
Whoa you need to unpack this - can you explain it some more
Absolutely
Legalise drugs, fund it to deal with the actual issues and not problems on the periphery. It works.

I’m portuguese and I remember when her dad was caught and arrested here, it was a big deal at the time
Love how she sounds like a normal Mancunian woman yet is daughter of a mafia king pin. Google shows she's living a normal life in Lancashire now.
Honest and wise woman
Oh my goodness her life was literally a movie.
I knew merrisa when she lived in Thornton Cleveleys. Always a very nice person. She didn't let her past dictate her future.
I have a full on London accent. But can switch to full on Neapolitan. Hard to believe but this sort of shit does happen.
What are you trying to tell us...?!
I've read her book to it's good
Just when I think I’m out they keep pulling me back in lol
God bless her 🙏 I believe that she's genuinely sorry...the issues is she was born into this lifestyle and what would anyone do if they were born to this?
slightly off topic, but i am jealous of how she describes her italian family. she's right-we simply don't have that broad sense of family community over here. i wish we did. i had a singaporean landlady once. we got onto the topic of family. she said she didn't understand the way we are over here. how we want to get away from our parents as soon as possible. how, when our parents are old, we don't have them come live with us (or indeed remain with us if we're already all together). i'm sure it does happen in the UK. but it's certainly not the culture.
This is the most dangerous and deadly thing to do.
I really respect her purity.
I understand that she was in difficult situations, but I don’t buy that she couldn’t do anything when she knew someone was about to be murdered because it affected her family, that’s just called selfishness. Her Auntie proved that you can do the right thing.
definitely yes. But again its in their world where the option of getting away from that environment isnt possible but rather she was naive that im very positive she had a toxic mind for being brought up that way. REMEMBER, no one is forcing it on you. And as a kid, they always speak their mind unless they have been beaten so they say the opposite to prevent from being hit again. Self experienced with this type of situation
Sometimes you have to let your children fail. I sure as he'll wouldn't give my children drugs just bc they were addicted. But a lot of families choose to, just to keep their children at home safe. Sometimes it works and others times you become a drug lord xD her experience is valid and honestly I'm not mad bc I feel like anyone could fall into that way of life. Especially when you have a woman wanting to hold onto family that strongly.
This was a great interview, but I do think some of what she said was a little disingenuous. Does she think her hands are clean? Indirectly, she is responsible for who knows how many deaths? I'm glad she is out of it and that she has a better life, but I think she has side stepped a lot of possibly unpalatable truths.
she's a straight up G
Ok Jacob if you think a 50 year old lady is a mafioso then shows your mob Knowledge

In any event, she is an attractive and intelligent woman. Life can take many paths.
