Last time I ate pizza hut I had terrible constipation. Tasted kinda like plastic or cardboard or something. I don't eat any corporate food anymore it all has that same poisoned feeling after you eat it.
@FamiliarAnomaly
I usually have opposite reaction when I get something at Pizza Hut. So, for that reason, I tend to avoid them. Unfortunately, when they release something new, forgetting the gastronomic distress that may accompany it - I’ll try it anyway. 🤦🏻♀️

employee here, its supposed to be made with the marinara sauce instead of the regular pizza sauce, also they just take a regular thin crust and cut the edge off. expect longer wait times because of the extra processes involved and the fact that pizza hut got rid of all their delivery drivers and integrated with doordash drivers, which may or may not show up. also they have cut staffing to bare minimum hours. they are basically taking the california wage hike out on employees in other states. Franchises are slowly making this change area by area so people dont freak out everywhere at once, but once the change is nationwide quality and delivery times will tank. Ive seen doordashers ruin pizzas, let them get cold and just outright steal food. Expect PH to go the way of circuit city. we cant keep employees because 2 people cant run a full kitchen, dining room, and drive thru. The new menu items are alright but this company is TRASH.
Thank you for the detailed look behind the scenes (sincerely.) You give me a window of clarity to better perceive my menial job as a fruit slicer and dehydrator. I get caught in self-narrativizing how lowly I am for holding such a job and how isolating and boring it is to do something repetitive by myself in a corner of a kitchen all day. But the job itself isn't stressful (outside of dealing with the alluded to psychological baggage via cultural conditioning to feel our worths as persons as judged by holding low job titles and rank). And my job's pay is great for what it is. I lose sight of how things could be far worse!
Let's Go Brandon!
So, I can expect to see Pizza Hut featured in a upcoming tik tok video from the Quartering sometime soon. The restaurant apocalypse continues.
that really sucks to hear. one of hte reasons i like pizzahut is because their delivery is cheaper and faster and more reliable then doordash, if htey are just moving to that...booo

I mean it looks good for Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut was awesome back in the 80's and 90's.
80's especially
The Priazzo was the best pie any chain ever made... and it was because it took time to make and of course people complained about the wait, so they stopped making it. That's what the "have it now" mentality gets you. Garbage.
I worked at one early eighties. The pan crust was like a delicious buttered toast. All their crusts now taste like prefab manufacturing. Blah with a weird artificialness.
Pizza Hut died back in 2006-2008 when Subway died too due to the housing collapse and recession.
Especially in the 90s everyone through birthday party’s there
“This my kind of weather. Its gloomy, its rainy” - Reviewbraw, 2024
😂
From a previous PH employee, I think The Edge first came out in the late 90s. It had "premium" toppings and some sort of oregano based sprinkle from what I remember. It might have had a special sauce as well. It seems like they pull it back out occasionally in some "new" form as is the case now. They will probably call it St. Louis style at some point 🔮.
It uses the stick sauce instead of the pizza sauce. It's a little thinner and sweeter. When I worked there I actually would use the stick sauce for all of the pizzas I made for myself. It's a million times better than the regular sauce.
Yeah, the edge was around in the nineties, I worked at PH my Freshman year in college, 97-98, and made the edge back then. Haven’t been able to stomach PH since I left.

This is the main style of pizza that people in Chicago eat

Yes. This flat pizza with square slices. St. Louis pizza. Imos pizza. The pizza has to be canary yellow, close to burnt, in order to taste right and good
thats what im saying . its just missing the provel
That's the only video I disagree with the guy in the video. How the hell do you give 8/10 when that pizza is as thin as a sheet of paper.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 More than 2.2/10 is not worth! Holy sh*t! We don't even know if that yellow stuff is really cheese and so many ingredients are missing from the pizza. It's actually bread and salami. Not even close a pizza! That's it! 12 bucks for this sh*t! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@black_dragon274 What other ingredients should this kind of pizza have? I’m from CA, so Idk if I’ve ever really had “real” pizza.
This is why I implore my fellow Chicagoans to accept that deep dish/ stuffed pizza is our pizza. The so called tavern style pizza is just thin crust pizza you can find everywhere like for instance St Louis apparently. We use more cheese though.
@@ZaZaZoo22 st.louis style has a completely different crust, sauce and cheese. Both are thin, but not at all the same.

I'm in Chicago - we have like 5 pizza huts in the city limits. If you want a good thin crust, Rosatis is one that has a lot of locations and it's pretty consistent. Of course you can go to the hole in the wall places that do it better, but if you want "fast" pizza, Rosatis is the way to go and it's likely in a suburb location near you.
Just got rosatis last night. Always a solid choice
Rosati's is the main pizza my wife and I would. The best chain for thin crust IMHO

If I didn’t know what it was supposed to be, I’d say it looks like a pretty nice pizza for $12.
You could say he took an “edgeucated” guess on the true identity of this pizza
What drives me nuts is when most people say Chicago style pizza, they mean Deep Dish. I say, which one? There is Deep Dish traditional, Deep Dish Stuffed, and Tavern. Most people that live in Chicago don't eat the Deep Dish, they eat the Tavern. Tavern is cut the way it is because it was/is intended to be shared among a group of people, and it's easy to hold it in the hand with a cocktail napkin, with a beer in the other hand. My biggest issue with buy a thin pizza like this is that it isn't very filling. I can easily down the whole thing really quickly, and probably still be hungry. So it's great for a party or lunch. But for dinner I need a more filling pizza that has little thicker crust and more toppings. I love all pizza though.
True.
I worked in a pizza joint outside of Chicago. We would make 300 pizzas on a Friday night.
Only 3 or 4 were deep dish.
Just tried it. You are spot on with the review. Getting side of marinara sauce helps. Mine had seasoning so thinking they forgot to put on yours.
You can find this style of pizza throughout the state of Illinois if you know where too look. This brings back some memories of drunken nights at the local tavern.
I'm from phoenix so a gloomy rainy day sounds perfect 😭 it looks so nice behind you
I saw an add for this item, and thought, "What is the Report of the Week's assessment?" Thank you.

That rainy day backdrop adds a touch of mystery, and rainy days are my jam, too. 🥰 The stereo sound adds immeasurable depth. FREDDY KRUEGER FANS, I am a guest speaker at the Nightmare on Elm St. 40th Anniversary Screening, Friday September 13, 2024, at Alex Theatre in Glendale, California.
As a local Chicagoan I can safely safe there are no less than 5,000 tavern pizza places within a 10 mile radius. This is the style of pizza we eat 90% of the time. Nothing in the world beats a well made tavern style pizza.
That being said if you love pizza there is no better place in the world to visit for pizza. We have the following types easily accessible and of high quality:
1. Tavern
2. Pan
3. Deep Dish (Stuffed)
4. Detroit
5. New York
6. New Haven
7. Sicilian
8. Neapolitan
I don’t think I’ve touched a fast food pizza since I was under the age of 12.
I'm from the New York metro area. It always amazed me that you cannot get a GOOD pizza once you get west of Philadelphia until you hit Chicago! Then not until Denver and then not until California. Most of the U.S. just doesn't have good pizza. Detroit used to be good too. Until the city fell into the crapper!
As a local Chicagoan I can say that we don’t call it tavern style. That’s some foofy north side invention. We just call it thin crust pizza. And true that thin crust is eaten more but it’s not Chicago pizza. Deep dish/ stuffed pizza is real Chicago pizza.
A well made stuffed pizza definitely beats a thin crust pizza.
@@ZaZaZoo22
I cant disagree, because ive only had a few deep dishes, but even Lou Malnati's deep dish is not a good as a good Chicago thin crust
@@ZaZaZoo22they're both good but most people living in Chicago can't wait an hour and 15 minutes for a stuffed pizza to bake

I lived in Chicago for my first 16 1/2 years and never ate pizza other than Chicago thin, square cut. I was about 23 and living in Ohio when I had my first taste of deep dish pizza at a local establishment. How can you eat that kind of pizza with one hand when you have a great big frosty mug of beer in the other hand? I think I'll stick to Chicago thin, square cut. Furthermore, I avoid pizza from any of the major chains because they're just not good. It's just that simple. Support your local independent Chicago style thin square cut pizzerias.
The pizza in America doesn't look or taste like pizza.
@AndyML3883 The U.S.A. it's a very large and culturally diverse country. There will be different styles of pizza from region to region. Even Italy has native dishes that vary by region. What is the true definition of pizza? There isn't one.
@@AndyML3883 Yeah US and Italian style pizzas are pretty different. I usually see the typical white sauce, square shaped, full of cilantro and other greens Italian style pizzas referred to as "artisanal pizza" out here. I also think they taste like crap, but I've never been huge about Italian food to start with. If you just ask for pizza, you're gonna get a US styled one.
If you aren't forced to eat the pizza with a knife and fork it isn't a good deep dish
@@majorbuzz It's not what we see in Italy, anyway.
