Went to the Chagall gallery, his parents home in Vitebsk & his grandparents came from the same town my mother was born in Lyosno and where my grandparents had a farm. the place you called a military academy was where the KGB resided & where Napoleon stopped for 2 weeks on his way to Moscow.
eurodestination If you notice the marble war memorial with the mortars on the corners closeby the Chagall museum there was a small damage to one corner, that was the only damage in this area during WW2 it seems even the nazis respected these surrounds.
@@yurilemming4130 I have visited Vitebsk three times. I truly love the city. Most buildings are made of brick that is covered in stucco. In many of the older parts of the city without the stucco coating battle damage is visible on the bricks. I believe the present KGB building was used by the nazi's during the war. It may explain why it survived relatively intact. Great city, friendly people and inexpensive for Westerners.
Thank you so much for sending I love it, and i learned a lot, not just because of the info but also because of the way you film, it's much more peacefull then i film although the video you watched today on our channel was filmed by my husband Maybe one day you can upload a video on the CDmagz channel??? Hehe, did i realy asked that? Thanks again, Hugzzz Jolanda
