LÉ GEORGE BERNARD SHAW in London's West India Dock on 18 May 2023. LÉ GEORGE BERNARD SHAW is a Samuel Beckett class offshore patrol vessel of the Irish Naval Service. She departed West India Dock for Dover on 23 May.
I'd rather see Irish naval vessels doing the job allocated and spend their operations time protecting Ireland's territorial waters. This unnecessary "visit" is a complete waste of taxpayers money and resources.

Thanks for watching 👍Sorry there is music on there rather than sound but someone started blasting loud music out a speaker as soon as I began filming and it was too late to change location.
A very good video show casing the boats on the Thames the George Bernard Shaw visited belfast a few years back for belfast Maratine festival she is big and and .lovely looking vessel and will be the back bone of the republic Ireland navy for years 2 come as at this present time the naval forces have been depleted of vessels and mariners for a number of years now belfast northern ireland
@@fw4286 I think it was someone being deliberately awkward. They started playing the music as soon as I started filming and then stopped when I finished filming. Luckily it doesn't happen very often. I will have to film from a different part of the path next time!
@@fw4286 Yes - agreed. I will just have to move along a little bit in future. The good thing about this area is that there is no fence so it was easier to film!
I bet the crew of the Le George Bernard Shaw were ready for a pint after making up in the dock. The Dunkirk Little Ship did a Return to the West India Dock, I think it was 2011. Great to see the variety of craft using the Thames, I did visit the old fire boat Massey Shaw that's also a Dunkirker, on a Return to Chatham. Thanks for posting and your time making the videos.
Wonderful to see those LFB boats bombing around in their own neck of the woods. We caught one of those being tested up here (Tanner). Lovely to see an Irish Naval ship too!
Thanks for watching! Tanner was named after the fire fighter Gillian Tanner who won the George Medal for bravery during the Second World War. I haven't seen her yet though.
Yes - it will ony be a one off. Someone nearby started playing loud music as soon as I started filming and then stopped when I finished filming so the original audio was completely unusable. I think they were being awkward. Luckily this does not happen very often so hopefully everything will be back to normal for the next video!

Smashing video. Somebody really knows his stuff, to tell us about all those boats! Great to see the Naval Service fly the flag in London 😊

Fine looking vessel
Thanks for watching. Unfortunately there is no sound as someone was playing loud music through speakers near to where I set up to film!

Is there an Irish naval vessel named "Spike Milligan" yet?
There should be.
😂 brilliant. From Ireland ☘️
They should name one the Irish Rover.
How about Dermot Morgan?
Even better would be “Dave Allen” but that would mean breaking off a bit of one of the masts…

It was a while ago now so I can't remember to be honest!
