You may also simply say 'Brunswyck'... There are so many old relations between the Welfs from Brunswyck and the English Crown ...since the times of Eleonore d'Aquitaine, King Richard I. Lionheart and even older. We say ''Dünkirchen'' and ''Danzig'' in german - no problem to say ''Brunswyck'' for you - it`s not about pronouncing something 'right', it`s about a friend`s dignity, to pronounce it -please- in British Style:) Example to that ? I got a nice one: King Charles III. made a brilliant and well pronounced speech at the German Bundestag some months ago. I hurried to call my half-english goddaughter`s mother, who lives in northern Germany: ''Hej, just switch on the TV, Charles is speaking in Berlin ! She always knows, how that is meant. Growing up with a framed portrait of Adm. Lord Nelson above my bed and C.S. Forester`s Hornblower under my pillow, I was well prepaired to explain my goddaughter in the age of 12, that half of the blood in her vains is 'Rule Britannia'... shown by Master and Commander and Gregory Peck`s Hornblower from 52... I felt her grandparents Mary and Bert smiling from heaven... lovely people from Mid-England, I am so proud and honoured about to meet... we laughed 3 days together... the most joyful days in my life, filled up with english humour... When I was in the USAF in early 90s in New Mexico, F4s were wingtip to wingtip on both sides of the flight line. Thing is, one side were US. THE other side bore the Iron Cross. Yeah….at the time WWII was almost 50 years gone. Germany has for decades been loyal allies of the USA and Europe.

I twice took young adult girls on warship tours, one a submarine and the other HMS Belfast. In both cases, the blood sugar of the girls dropped badly enough to necessitate remedial action. I grew up in a military home and never realized how intimidating military equipment could be. After all, HMS Belfast never hurt a fly in seventy years now, why be scared of it? 😊

Cold war. Imagine a German warship pulling up in London during that time 💀@@klauskurz9277
I saw a video of one playing the Star Wars theme while passing through here 😂
Brits and Germans are sisters and brothers. We have much in common.
That´s a small corvette - which means we´re coming in peace.
Its a frigate.A corvette is 50% smaler .
@@kriegshammer2161 Isnt a German frigate technically in terms of firepower and its size a modern destroyer?
@@flandarn329 As far as I know the Sachsen-Class frigate could be called a destroyer.
@@flandarn329
A little biger i think ,20%.i think.
@@flandarn329 As a former Master Chief of the german navy let me say , the Braunschweig is a CORVETTE ( Class 130 ) . The Sachsen - class and the Brandenburg - Class are Destroyers per tonnage , weaponry and per mission . They can fulfill surface combat , air defense , anti submarine warfare and coastal bombardment ( Allrounder - Destroyer ) . They were called frigates of political issues . The 130er Class has a F on the hull because its called a frigate , light ...a corvette also .
I served on the Schleswig Holstein , a Hamburg - class Destroyer , hull number D 182 and it was beautyful and amazing years.

Foreign Navies always want to visit London. Larger warships do visit Portsmouth and Plymouth HMNB’s
Good girl Belfast, as beautiful as ever, always greeting visitors as they pass tower bridge.
The fact is it was the same ship that blasted the star wars imperial march 😭🙏
Really wish I got that on video, lol.
@@CobraEmergency oh u live in London?
I like to imagine it's some kind of diplomatic mission just proving to The Whole Wide World that not only one time decades ago, small eons, wartime enemies can and have become firm friends and newer better allies and that, yes, given clear and unambiguous agendas we all can get on with it, whilst maintaining and keeping a healthy competitive sporting streak which ain't a mean feat.
This is for the Monster to view., as the Balkan countries decide what to do next.

Always went to London but mostly business related and just had no time to visit places.
I oughta go and check HMS Belfast some time.
Great Video of the German Ship arriving!
interesting video thank you
"German warship arrives in London as Tower Bridge opens"
If the bridge had been closed, it would have been extremely rude.
It would turn into Bismarck 2.0

Last year a Brazilian war ship came down the Thames. I've also seen a french ship downstream Thames as well.
somewhere in the distant, on the dark side of the moon, you hear a faint whisper...: "operation sea lion successful"
German and other NATO ships are frequent visitors to Plymouth and to Devonport Naval base.
I hope I pronounced that right.
Nope 😁
You may also simply say 'Brunswyck'... There are so many old relations between the Welfs from Brunswyck and the English Crown ...since the times of Eleonore d'Aquitaine, King Richard I. Lionheart and even older.
We say ''Dünkirchen'' and ''Danzig'' in german - no problem to say ''Brunswyck'' for you - it`s not about pronouncing something 'right', it`s about a friend`s dignity, to pronounce it -please- in British Style:)
Example to that ?
Thank you for this documentation. You see, it made me think a lot, meanwhile our Frigate Brunswyck came round the corner :) Love from here 🤗💙💙❤
Finally. After all these years we have returned
@@jimreilly917 plutôt aux ordres des Etats-Unis afin de. transformer les Nations européennes en protectorats américains.
Nice watching it coming in and mooring up with Hms Belfast... How times have changed, close allies now...wonder what Admiral Donitz would have thought seeing this.....
😂🎉
I twice took young adult girls on warship tours, one a submarine and the other HMS Belfast. In both cases, the blood sugar of the girls dropped badly enough to necessitate remedial action. I grew up in a military home and never realized how intimidating military equipment could be. After all, HMS Belfast never hurt a fly in seventy years now, why be scared of it? 😊
Was that the ship that played the imperial march?
It was! It played it on departure, which I wasn't there for sadly.
Wow they have finally arrived
Seeing Belfast I always feel pity that none of the british battleships or battlecruisers are existing anymore. The USA have done a tremendous job in preserving so many historic ships until now.

Thought it was bass that the captain of the Germen ship played the Imperial march. LMAO Good on him for having a sense of hummer.

Not quite as exciting as when HMS Illustrious moored up at Greenwich. We queued from 7am to get one of the few on board visits! A great day exploring the whole ship & I met the captain!
A corvette can´t keep up with an aircraft carrier... and the ''missions'' are different as well...
From my view I can only agree: I miss the Harriers most - so the ships who carried them. I understand your fascination about the HMS Illustrous... It was a fine ship !
Would have been an amazing sight if it were (in my opinion) the most famous battleship of all; the Bismarck that actually came over! Greetings anyway friends 🇩🇪🇬🇧
Would it fit through?
you mean the ship which sank on its first deployment?
Why they coming into London and not Portsmouth?
London's a better run ashore for sailors!
Words like getting Shitfaced comes to mind ?
Khan was likely complaining that as they couldn't get those massive cruise ships up to London to make even more tourist trade money from them. The least his new mates in the Labour Gov could do was to allow some warships up the Thames to to bring him some extra money in to waste on even more useless stuff that he thinks up . . . !!!
@@lestermay5878basically
It was a representative goodwill visit. Portsmouth and other RN bases are visited by German warships to much less fanfare fairly frequently which isn't surprising considering both countries are NATO members.
pretty interesting size comparision between an old light cruiser and a new frigate.
Our ships have finally made it to England!
