It is painted in a 3 colour limited palette of ultramarine blue, raw sienna and paynes grey with hake and rigger brushes, I hope you enjoy it, please like and subscribe to see more tutorials etc, and Happy Painting!

Thanks Lois. Lovely light. I think I'll try and adapt this tutorial (rather than follow it) to a reference photo of mine. Hopefully I might learn something.
Just one question: your paper seems to keep its dampness even when you added wide strokes in the sky on the left and as you kept adding trees with the rigger. Do you ever have the nasty surprise that your paper has dried too much? Do you spray it in that case?

Thanks Lois :) this was actually the first time i painted along with a video. What i learned was that it would have beem a better result had i not used my practice paper. Confidence gained nevertheless. 👍

    Hello Lois
I liked your painting so much and tried it. You are right, not easy despite how easy it looks in your hands. I found the hardest part was to keep up so the paper did not dry out, despite this I enjoyed doing it with you and just stoped the video as needed. Have a lot to learn managing the hake brush and getting those wonderful white streaks across the water. None the less I like my painting very much and I thank you for it. Do you use several hake brushes each with a different paint and also a clean one?

enjoyed watching you paint this, love the cat interruption. Do you always have your trees tilted instead of vertical? The trees in the back ground the scratched in ones? at the end i wanted that to be the light side of the trees you were painting in darker, lol. My head kept trying to get your brush to follow the lighter scratched in ones with the dark paint. funny how we see things.

Your teaching is Phantastic.. I became a fan after seeing only some of your great demos .. I am fascinated from this landscape .. already did three attempts..only low success.. for me the essential topic is about water management .. one of the basic influences on the outcome is the amount of water involved on the paper and on the brush - may be you could explain this in more detail - thank you cheers Jörg
